I just left from a haircut here from a walk in with Steve. This is technically the worst haircut I have ever received. I asked for a high skin fade and by the looks of my haircut this is the first time this person has ever attempted this haircut. He also did not clean up my head I'm covered in hair just overall it feels that this was someone's friend filling in at the chair or just starting out. Gave a tip because I'm nice but I can't come here again really disappointing. read more

7am the Sunday of Labor Day weekend 2018. The place is open and ready for business, welcoming my tired face with a bright grin, efficient service and hearty welcome. Ron has a ready hand and a pleasant personality, and please don't mistake "efficiency" for cutting any corners. My fat can was in the chair less than 10 minutes but in that time I got a solid professional clean-up, hot towel and straight-razor neck shave, and a dollop of old-fashioned inoffensive topical man talk. I walked in off the street and frankly was lucky to have gotten there before things got serious. This shop has enough demand that they manage reservations with an actual computer program, which by the looks of this day's bookings was a needed tool. Late morning Ron said he'd be hot-shaving some guys from a wedding party, and while the joint is not big nor especially luxurious, I'd say it's just about an ideal venue for a bonding ritual before tying the knot. (Wanna unpack that phrase for 2 secs while we're at it? Our young groom-to-be is thinking, dewy-eyed, that it refers to an unbreakable bond between himself and his betrothed -- and mazel tov without doubt my homie you two should live happily together the next 50 years and more. Somewhere along the line though, and probably before that fifty-year mark, it will seem more like a noose around your neck. My new Fav spot for a shave and trim. They have a beer tap to enjoy a nice cold beer while you wait and you will wait if you don't have an appt. This place it popular with moms with kids and old guys with very little hair left on top. I have a basic flat top so maybe my view is skewed but been her 3 times and each time I went away happy. I also get a straight razor shave. The 1st time it was not done that well but I did not speak up because the place was real busy. The next time I went back I told him where my bad spots were and he took care of them proper. My only complaint that they could spend a little more time on the neck and ears to get those little hairs that are annoying. Appointments don't mean anything here. Husband made an appointment to find that the barber was working on a walk-in. For the next 30(!!) minutes he continues to see the WALK-INS. His response was "it is busy on sundays." Great, then don't make appointments at all. Walk ins should be made to wait when there is time after scheduled appointments. read more

Their website says that "full service" haircuts are $15. When "Dan" got done, he did NOT do all of the things listed on the website, he declared that I owed him $20 because he's a "VIP" haircutter. This morning, before my job interview, I spent twenty minutes trimming his mess. He LOVES the shears but, evidently, doesn't know how to use scissors - maybe he ran with them when he was a child? Inconsistent. Sometimes it good and sometimes they'll just cut it how they think you want it. Asked for just a fade on the sides. They ended up trimming the top really short when I was trying to grow it out. And my fade was uneven because it got faded up to my hard part making the sides look uneven. Ron's my man with hands though. Takes his time and really cares about its outcome. If I decide to come back I'd make sure I go to him other than that I'm gonna find another barbershop. There's no better place for a guy to go for a good haircut than Vinny's. I started going here because it's a short trip from where I work, but I've been so satisfied that I will even make the trip out to Vinny's on the weekend. Even if you don't have an appointment they often take care of you right away. I've been helped by almost every barber who works there and have never had a bad cut. They always make you feel right at home. Unless I'm out of town, I'm not going anywhere else but Vinny's. read more

Vinny and his staff give quality haircuts. There's always sports on TV and the small place is usually crowded. It's not the cheapest haircut, but they do the traditional straight razor to the neck and offer a beer while you wait. In my experience, the place is great!!! Solid amenities (LCD TV's, good equipment, they use good hair products, etc), the place has a very contemporary feel to it making the experience even greater, the entire crew makes you feel confortable. Appointments are easy to make and their schedule is very flexible. They do take walk-ins as well but i do recommend you make an appointment. I Always have Dan cutting my hair (been going to this place for 2 years) and the dude is a outstanding and meticulously precise barber, I get what I ask for and the guy has an eye for style, very detailed and gives a "kick ass" fade, by far one of the best fades I've seen so far in the capital region. It's hard to find a barber who can blend in your hair in such a professional way, he makes it look easy. I've been to a lot of barber shops and this place is by far the best I've been to. Additionally, the only reason their website is out of date is because the change from $15 to $20 dollars just happened recently. $20 is pretty darn good compared to other places, I always get more than I paid for, personally being a native from New York City (where a simple haircut and lineup can go for $50 to $60 USD), this place is well deserved of a 5 Star rating. read more

Awful. The barber was more focused on the TV than my hair. I mentioned before hand I wanted a taper in the back and that my hair was tricky where the sides meet the top. He assured me that he would take care of it and he knew what I wanted. What I wound up with was Guido like sharp lines in the back and around my ears/sideburns and a Charlie Sheen like feathered bangs in front.
