Found this place on a recommendation from Reddit, looked into the reviews and gave it a shot. Scheduled a haircut with Stacey, who is the owner of the shop, through their online booking portal. As soon as I came in, I was greeted with a professional handshake, and a sit down for shampoo and conditioner. I showed her a picture of the length I wanted, and she exceeded my expectations. Even did some light layering on the back (whatever that means). It ended with a hot face towel and a light massage on my shoulders and neck, cleanup around the sideburns and back neck. All for $35. Unreal. What a steal and I will not be going anywhere else. Highly recommend. Finally, a salon dedicated to men.

I thinks its because I always thought I had to know exactly what kind of hair cut I wanted before going to a professional. Shelley was exceptionally good at making me feel at ease. She took the time to really get a good idea of the type of cut that would look good on me, and involved me in the decision making. My hair is very fine and somewhat thinned out so I needed something that would draw attention away from that. She gave me exactly the type of cut I didn't know I needed. This was really the first time in my life I was genuinely happy about my hair. I received about 4 comments at work about how nice my hair looks. I don't think I've ever received a comment about a haircut in my life. I'm sure there are plenty of barbers that could give me the same exact hair style but what sets Shelley apart is her understanding of customer service and her ability to make even a newbie feel comfortable. I literally told this guy my barber moved to Copiague so I am looking for a new barber. In response they tried to SCAM me. When he is finished, I ask, no blade? He says no I trimmed it. Must be nice. It…read moremust be nice to have so many customers, that you can literally turn your back on paying customers. There was one client in the barber chair in the midst of a haircut. The person ostensibly cutting their hair was on their cell phone. When I entered, he asked if I had an appointment. I asked, seeing that there was no one else in the establishment, if that were really necessary. He responded yes, and then TURNED HIS BACK ON ME! Now, I'm aware that some places want to keep up a certain level of decorum, or pretension, and might want to insist on appointments, regardless of foot traffic. But where I'm from, turning your back on, someone is considered a slap in the face, and / or grounds for receiving one. Perhaps he didn't like my shirt. Perhaps it's a little too hot for everyone. Perhaps my skin tone didn't live up to his standards. Whatever the reason, rudeness and disrespect are no way to run a business.
