HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE I called before to ask if they take walk…read moreins? they said fine. I asked to see someone who has been there for a while, they said no problem. I walk in, sit down with Igor. He is nice enough, but difficult to understand. I tell him a tape up down to a two, shorten the beard and clean it up. He says no problem. I was excited because this place looked dope inside. Mistake. I ask how much about 5 minutes in. Igor says $50. I said why so much? He mumbled something about a hot towel. A few minutes later I say, no hot towel, just do my beard and trim. He says ok. I literally told this guy my barber moved to Copiague so I am looking for a new barber. In response they tried to SCAM me. When he is finished, I ask, no blade? He says no I trimmed it. Youre going to charge me $50 and NO BLADE? I was flabbergasted. I was bewildered. He said $40. I said ok $40 no beard is still crazy. Igor, whose hands were SHAKING during the cut, says to pay up front. Up front, I hand the guy $40 and say, $40 no blade is crazy. This guy says, "If we TOUCH your beard we have to charge $40". What? Have to? Huh? I said, "Touch my beard? Fine. Look, no blade. $40 for no blade is crazy." AND they know it's crazy so they give me back $10. This GARBAGE haircut is NOT worth $30. I didn't even get the tape up I paid for. NONSENSE. AND I have to go home and shave ? ? ? ZERO stars

I don't know why…read morebut I've always been intimidated by the idea of having my hair cut anywhere except a Supercuts. I thinks its because I always thought I had to know exactly what kind of hair cut I wanted before going to a professional. Shelley was exceptionally good at making me feel at ease. She took the time to really get a good idea of the type of cut that would look good on me, and involved me in the decision making. My hair is very fine and somewhat thinned out so I needed something that would draw attention away from that. She gave me exactly the type of cut I didn't know I needed. This was really the first time in my life I was genuinely happy about my hair. I received about 4 comments at work about how nice my hair looks. I don't think I've ever received a comment about a haircut in my life. I'm sure there are plenty of barbers that could give me the same exact hair style but what sets Shelley apart is her understanding of customer service and her ability to make even a newbie feel comfortable. I'm not certain I can afford a monthly haircut plus tip but I'll definitely be back.
