Pahrump has one public pool and it's in Petrack Park....and for the price, it's a deal. It's 50…read morecents admission per person. Yes, 50 cents. A few things to note... 1. There is minimal shaded area...I mean, imagine minimal and it's even smaller. I think 10 pool chairs (not lounge chairs) fit there...maybe less. There's plenty of seating, just not in the shaded area. 2. The lifeguards are on top of things. Score! 3. The pool isn't heated but you don't need that in June. It's Vegas weather...so the pool is 'naturally' heated in June. ;) 4. Locker rooms are clean 5. Parking is easy 6. No diving board 7. They have a 'baby' pool for the little kids This was a fun activity for my kids and myself when we went to visit family. Recommend!

Also part of the festival was a vintage car show in the far parking lot, and what a cool sight to see! Who knew that Pahrump was a hot bed for vinyage cars????? The majority of entrants were locals from Pahrump, with a few coming from nearby states, but just hearing the owners talk shop about their "babies" was great. One owner had a collection of 5 cars in the car show, and every one of them were in such pristine condition! We perused the various vendors that were also on hand and also kicked it with some of the animals that were there too. Very cool place to relax and unwind while exploring Pahrump. Come out to next year's Balloon Festival! ALOHA!!! Shaka Meter: \uuu/ \uuu/ \uuu/ \uuu/ 4

Two things I love are Mount Charleston and the Fall. Mount Charleston and the changing colors of…read morethe Fall go together like a horse and carriage. This is the time to visit Mount Charleston when the changing colors of the aspen and wildflower blooms light up the rolling forests. The Mount Charleston Fall Festival celebrates the time of year when the Autumn leaves blanket the forests. When I saw the Mount Charleston Fall Festival on my Facebook page, I was decided on checking out the Fifth Mount Charleston Fall Festival. The Mount Charleston Fall Festival took place yesterday on Saturday, October 8 from 12 to 4 pm at the Spring Mountains Gateway Visitor Center. When I arrived at the Visitor Center a half hour early, the parking lot was filling up. There were a couple of employees directing the drivers where to park. By the time that the festival started, the parking lot serving the Step Ladder Trail northeast of the traffic circle was also filling up. Prior to the festival, a lot of natureholics like me hung looked at the exhibits in the Visitor center and walked around the vast grounds of the complex. Just like the library, elementary school, and resort on Mount Charleston; the fair was small. It was nothing in size to the Art in the Park festival that I attended last weekend. The festival was set around the east parking lot with the exception of the crafts and owl booths at the Education Building. The way that the event worked was that guests purchased raffle tickets to pay for the food. The raffle tickets were inexpensive. At $1 they brought two food items and raffle drawings that were held at 3 and 4 pm. There was a want for food trucks. The food here was served camping style. The guests roasted the hot dogs and smores at a camping pit in the Pinyon Group Picnic Area. Additionally $5 bought a Piesner beer. The raffle tickets with the festival went for good causes. I passed over eating. Instead I visited the different booths that all shared the common good of promoting the outdoors. I chatted with the volunteers running the booths and provided my name and contact information to receive future emails. Additionally I signed the petition to preserve Lava Butte-Nevada's piece of the Grand Canyon. I passed over buying anything because nothing was for sale. The Mount Charleston Fall Festival featured sponsors that have a passion for the outdoors. The sponsor's represented included: REI, Outdoor Las Vegas, Save Lave Butte, Friends of Nevada Wildlife, Back Country Horsemen, Lee Canyon with the Lee Canyon mobile, and Smokey the Bear. The children seemed to enjoy the Back Country Horsemen attraction where they got to be in pictures cutting wood. Nearby, at the Smokey the Bear trailer children learned about the dangers of forest fires. The majority of the guests appeared to be families. The Fall Festival advertised nature walks. I did not hear anything about nature walks during my time here. I did hear the music in the Amphitheater. All in all, I spent an hour at the Festival. After passing the Back Country Horsemen and REI booth for the last time, I walked by the craft center and placed my brochures in the car. From the Visitor Center, I would hop on the Acustus Trail to continue my celebration of Fall in Mount Charleston with hours of hiking in the shadows of the Autumn colors and Ponderosa pine trees. The Mount Charleston Fall Festival brought on the Fall season in Mount Charleston as both a good festival and trailhead.

Very good and accurate She was very nice and spot on…read more confirmed everything I needed to know and was unsure about

I have mixed feelings about her. She had a booth at this year's Pure Aloha Festival at Silverton…read moreCasino. As we were admiring her booth partner's crystal display, she tried to convince me to do a $20 reading, saying it was normally $65 at her shop (though I see on her Fremont page that she does $10 readings). She said she was picking up some kind of energy from me. I've actually had 2 other people randomly approach me for psychic readings saying they got some kind of "energy" from me over the years at Macy's, random parking lots. Perhaps I look gullible? We thought it would be fun, my partner & I being into spiritual things like that. He wanted to sit in, but she said that was not allowed. She had me shuffle the tarot cards then laid them out in a double pyramid. She asked if my parents fought a lot. I never saw them fighting though they eventually got divorced, but she insisted that they did. This could be common amongst all people though. She asked if that was my partner and if we had a baby together. I affirmed yes. She said there was definitely infidelity on his part and that it was someone he had seen before in the past and that she knew about me because he tells her about me and that she is into negative, harmful spirituality and was doing negative work to put distance between us. She offered to do a spiritual cleansing for $250 (for which she normally charged $900 at her office) to rid us of this third party. She said not to tell him and that was why she sent him away. I felt like all the energy left my body. My partner denied it all and was so mad he paid $30 to reenter the festival because he wanted to cuss her out. He said too bad she's pregnant otherwise he would beat her up. Time will tell if she was right or not, but if this is a scam, that is really f-d up. After reading other Yelp reviews about her, she seems less than reputable. I told him what if she incorrectly read the cards but really believed that that's what they were saying, but he believes she was malicious not merely incompetent. If she turns out to be right, I'll update my review. She said I was supposed to find out about this other person on my own soon. But if she was wrong, I find it highly irresponsible and potentially damaging to other people's lives. I guess in this industry, there is no liability. I had another psychic from SoCal incorrectly predict the gender of our baby (we didn't even ask her, she just offered), and another reader that we got for free at an event didn't even read the name of the card correctly, so I haven't had good experiences and will probably stay away in the future.
