Which I thought was a sweet touch. The only improvement I could suggest would be for the grounds to be a little more scenic, in case people wanted to sit outside or walk around. The brief presentation by the father of modern icewine making, Donald Ziraldo, was informative and insightful. I love dessert wines, so hearing about the microclimate, harvesting the grapes, and non-traditional pairings for the exquisite icewine was especially interesting. Donald was definitely the right man for the job of Global Ambassador for Canadian Icewine. The sampling of the icewine was a nice treat. I really enjoyed the Vidal Icewine, which has a really nice bouquet of tropical fruits flavor notes. And getting a sip of the Cabernet Frac Icewine was really a nice treat (Thanks Dean!) I am for sure going to Total Wines to get me a few bottles. Their was a few areas that you couldn't move a few feet, very crowded. We showed up at about 7:45 pm and avoided the line to get in. We walked right in and hit the booths to the right as you entered the pool area. We avoided the main crowds. We went around and came back to the main area at about 8:30 and the crowds had moved on. Overall it is still good but less entertainment then most years and not many extra gifts that we are used too.
