My son recently he got me hooked on collecting Funko Pops and he was no longer satisfied taking pictures in the store, texting them to me and asking if I wanted to purchase a new pop since he was there.... today was the first time he arrange to bring me with him. It's only a few miles from our house, on Highway 60 in Brandon, so we went during my hour lunch break. The man sitting behind the counter was very pleasant and welcomed us into the store. I am not so much a comic book - action figure - collector as I am a lover of all things 80s, vintage toys and relics of my childhood... And the store called to my 80s childish heart! I didn't have time to look around and explore all of the racks and displays but I could hear three young men also in the store with us ooh-ing and ahh-ing in excitement, around every corner! There jovial pleasure was contagious! I explored a table in the center of the store with all of the new releases of the Funko Pops. The store had a huge variety displayed on the far left wall, that ran nearly the entire length of the store. They had several figurines that I have been looking to collect such as the Garbage Pail Kids, Bob's Big Boy, Twinkie The Kid, Cap'n Crunch and Day-To-Night Barbie (I had this original Barbie when I was in Elementary school!). Since this is a collectible store, I feel it's important to note that any of the items I picked up and looked at were in pristine packaging. If you are looking for a comic shop Don't bother with this one. There are a few more less than a mile away that have better business practices and higher integrity for customers. The owner doesn't price comics and then uses ebay to give you prices. Basically you are doing the work of digging through long boxes for him. If I wanted ebay prices I would just buy them on ebay. This store was a bit difficult to find but if you can find a big Mario coming from the west on Brandon Blvd, you'll be A-Okay! Parking was a bit rough because it's right next to Brandon Blvd. It was tough getting in and out. Once we entered the store, it was nostalgia again. Everything was neatly organized and they truly had collectibles alongside magazines and games. We were looking for a Nintendo Gamecube controller and they had the original and third party ones. It was a pretty neat store and we didn't stay too long but it was cool to be there. We didn't see any employees but it was fine since we were not buying anything. While vacationing in LongBoat Key, we decided to spend a day in Tampa. While on the drive back, we found this place via google search and I'm so happy we did. They pack a lot of selection into a small store!! For those who hate Pops (like myself), no worries, this place has a lot more than just Pops. They have a massive Star Wars selection, and retro video games too. I picked up a Dr. Strange figure w/comic for my daughter, and she loved it (unfortunately, someone had snagged the build-a-figure- piece out of the package, darn crooks). The prices here are very fair, unlike other similar stores (I'm glaring at you, Acme in Longwood, FL). It's absolutely worth the drive here if you are in the area. read more

I came in and bought a Nintendo DS lite with 3 games just for the fun of it when after 15 mins of playing a game it would keep freezing up on me. I went back into the store same day I bought it and explained to them what was going on, the manager was very rude and unprofessional through the phone. I could hear him getting upset with his employee because I deserved a refund. His policy stated that I can return ANY gaming consoles within the 7 days of purchase IF not working. Clearly the DS was not working since it would freeze with each game I bought and sometimes would not be able to read it. After an hour of battling to get my refund the manager finally said yes. They claimed stating all their gaming consoles are tested and clean which they obviously were not. I would not recommend buying any consoles here. read more

Don't let the store front fool you, this place is basically a yard sale. I went in to this "store" and dealt with who I thought was an employee. Unfortunately, I had an issue with a trading card I spent nearly a thousand dollars on so when I called the store from the parking lot to address the issue is when I found out that you don't deal with any employees there, they are all the owners "friends" so big red flag straight out of the gate. The owner, I finally got on the phone, basically tells me that the guy behind the counter, the one who just sold me the card I have an issue with and didn't even hand me a receipt was "just a friend watching his store" and that he "doesn't know anything about the cards I just bought" I then say to the guy "hey, I spend good money in that store, I spent almost a thousand dollars on one card, is there anything you can do to help me out or make this situation better so that we're both happy" he then tells me "people in my store spend three to four thousand dollars a week. Why should I do anything for you?" So basically, what I gather from that is, if you're not spending 3/4 thousand dollars here, do NOT expect any kind of customer service or resolution what so ever if you have any issues. The arrogance takes full swing though when the guy tells me "I've been doing this probably longer than you've been alive" this guy is about my age so I correct him and when he realizes this he then asks "why is a 40 year old man collecting Pokémon cards?" and proceeded to tell me how he "hates Pokémon cards" I entertain this clown and tell him I'm buying cards for my kids he then asks why I would spend so much on my kids. I tell him "look is there anything you can do here or not?" He tells me to "call him tomorrow" I call back and no response. So bottom line: -You MAY deal with "friend" employees who have 0 product knowledge (according to the owner) - You may not get a receipt - At the time of this, there was no rerun policy posted anywhere in that "store" - there is NO return OR exchange policy on any "used items" ~ buckle up kids, this is a USED TOY STORE so this is everything in the place - unless you spend 3/4k$ a week in there, there is no customer service, again per Mr. Bigtime - the guy hates what he's dealing! Maybe it's time to let go certain aspects of business if you don't like the product. - I would absolutely NOT bring either of my kids here. Game Asylum in riverview and Oblivion Games in Tampa are both extremely family friendly shops, I would not hesitate to bring my kids there. Both places have a very friendly staff who love what they do and treat everyone who walks through the door with respect. read more

Bought 7 items totaling $88.75, employee with glasses tells me total is $160+, which I didn't question as property manager asked if I could Uber homeless guy out front to rehab at Salvation Army Fletcher and Nebraska, which I agreed to. Paid cash, even though the 3 other times I paid card and was pleased with instant receipt via email or text, so I can turn into the accounting dept for Metrocon. Said accounting dept brings the discrepancy to my attention a few days later, so I call to see if I can just get a gift card for the $80.17 difference, since I live in Clearwater, work in Clermont, which means 2-3 hour roundtrip every time V&C has something in stock for the Metrocade. When you call the store, it always forwards to the owner Josh's cell, which gives me the impression twice that he's present to rectify in person, which is not the case. Final call with him on 7/6/21, the dawn of Hurricane Elsa mind you, he's yelling at me on the phone while I'm in his store being helped by the very nice and huggable non-glasses employee that's helped me twice. After we hang up, he then texts me: #1 Demands a gift card with no proof Brings games back every time Wont shut up when others are trying to talk Supposedly didnt get correct change back but waits a week to say something about it Cusses me out, when Im trying to make sense of all this Yeah, Im the asshole! #2 Still name calling, I love it, I was extremely nice to you every time you were in the store, Even though you wouldn't shut up and was extremely annoying, I tried to work things out over the phone but you just won't shut up, I really do not care AT ALL to have any further business with you. #3 And I'm really glad I didn't do anything involving you #4 I've been in business forever 25 years moron #5 LOL, you have no clue, I can retire rich right now but I actually like what I do besides dealing the very rare in circumstances like this and I mean RARE, so CONGRATS on that! I only returned Bad News Baseball for NES on 6/23/21 because there was a tiny square of plastic missing in the groove, so it wouldn't work on my toploader NES or Old Skool toploader or Retron 2 HD, and I only asked for store credit and subsequently spent over $100. On 7/6/21 I was returning $4.99 Toy Soldiers War Chest because I couldn't get it to work on 9 convention PS4s, despite the pages of tricks YouTube has dedicated to this (unbeknownst to me) notoriously non-functioning game. Since it was the last day of the 7-day window, I also wanted to return Samurai Shodown PS4 $19.99 (somebody gifted me the digital version with all the DLC) and 2 $6.99 PS1 arcade compilations since the titles were present on the Chinese modded NES and Atari Classics that V&C brags about selling by the truckload for $39.99. I even agreed to the 50% refund reduction so I could be done with this place for good. If you're in Tampa, support R U Game and/or Monster Games Wiregrass instead; Pinellas = 3 M&M locations and/or Video Game Wizard; Central FL = CyberTron Games; Gainesville/Ocala = 22nd & Charles Collectibles Thrift, Stomping Grounds, and/or Bearded Browncoat. When I first found out about VC collectibles I was completely intrigued. The nostalgia of old and current toys, games, and comics was truly a beautiful feeling and there prices were amazing. It definitely allowed me to disregard the mess and the constant under construction store setting VC was under. I went in and was able to tightly make my way around to find items I was looking for with help from staff. So naturally I had a 3 star rating for the current operations of the store and because one of the games I bought (GameCube) was not compatible with the system I bought it for even when VC staff informed me it would be but that didn't bother me to much as it was 5$ dollar games no big deal. That was until I referred my mother to go buy a Nintendo switch for my nephew 6th birthday at the price of 269$ plus tax. The Nintendo box was a little busted up but that was expected coming from VC I still told my mother to go through with the purchase be it I thought buying the Nintendo from VC would help a small business and it is a good price for a Nintendo switch 40$ less then what I could of bought it for at a GameStop other video game stores. It was our mistake as well as the seller (VC collectibles) for not inspecting the condition of their goods before purchase. We continued to buy the game system and prepared it to be given as a gift. After my nephews birthday party it was reported to us by my sister (nephews mother) that the Nintendo switch charging dock that allows it to switch over to the TV was missing. When my mother went back to VC to confront them about the issue, the owner I assume) was very rude and disagreeable with my mother claiming this type of incidents never happens and was reluctant to help solve an issue coming from a customer who just purchased a high priced item from them 9 days ago. Then the owners wife (I assume) intervened and admitted to the defensive owner that she was the one who sold the Nintendo switch to my mother. This visibly angered the owner who obviously had no intention in helping us resolve our concern. VC then promised my mother to order the missing part which came 10 days later and was not the original part but an off-brand smaller third party version of the original part. When my mother called to express her dissatisfaction of this service saying we would of saved time and money if we just had bought a Nintendo switch straight form the carrier and that we wish we would have not done this whole process. The owner (I assume) response was extremely distasteful saying "I wish you would of never did this process as well trust me (sarcastically) you got the Nintendo at a good price, it's like 400$ new regular price right now and you can't even find them like what do you want me to do." No remorse to our misfortune and their unprofessional service. When I attempted to step in and inform him that we just wanted to help out and save a little bit of coin when we had options to purchase the same Nintendo switch for 299$ he hung up on me. I want to say thank you to the owners wife (I assume) for your honesty and speaking up to even allow us to get that missing part I hope you were not put down for that stand up act. I still very much love the business concept of VC and thankful they got us a replacement part but I must express my disgust with the behavior we received as paying customers. read more

A review about their comics only. Been here a couple of times for their comic book collection. Would not recommend if you're specifically looking for comics. His selection is not the problem, it's the fact that he looks on eBay sold prices for EVERY SINGLE ISSUE that you want to get and gives you a price afterwards is the main drawback. Most of them could easily be priced as $1-$5. He gives an excuse that the prices always fluctuate, which may be true in some cases, but not enough for most of what they have. After talking to him you can tell he's just not into comics anymore. Don't walk in here thinking you're going to get a good deal on comics because he goes to the higher end of "what he finds on eBay" and I'm not gonna spend $15 on a $5 comic just cuz somebody bought one copy for $20 on eBay. I can't speak on the games, toys or records they sell. He's not a bad guy to talk to tho, very friendly he just needs to price his comics and needs to know what he has before someone like me comes to the counter with a few comics expecting a certain price range and him wanting 3X that. I recently got into Funko Pop collecting and was searching the internet and happened to find this place and realized it was relatively close to where I was at the time so I decided to go here. As soon as I arrived there, I was greeted by a nice employee and was able to easily look through the Funko Pops that were all neatly organized in one section of the store. This store is perfect for old and new collectors and is priced at an affordable price. I am glad I found this store on Google because it is perfect for me to grow my Pop collection. read more

After a two year hiatus, we opted to give this "store" another opportunity. Previously we had decided, that after our last experience, we would no longer take the hour plus long drive that it requires to arrive here, however, we were in the area today and everyone deserves a second chance. Our experience this time was far worse than the previous one, though it did not seem as though that were possible. Once again, the "store" was in a severe state of disarray with "stuff" piled in corners, on counters, cordoned off with bed sheets etc. We had actually located an item to purchase, and like many of the items here, it was not priced (much like our first visit). We took the item up to the counter and the young man stated that he would take some photos and send them to the owner and he would look it up on eBay and let us know the price. This is a poor business practice, and the poor practices only became worse and more laughable as the visit proceeded. The young man came back and said that we would have to come back when the owner was there and that it was no longer for sale. We found yet another item and inquired about the price (as it was sans price) and was told that the items were not priced yet and we would have to come back. Keep in mind that these unpriced items were sitting on shelves amongst other items that were actually priced and were not hidden away in one of the many "piles" strewn among the store. The final straw and the most unacceptable of them all came in the form of asking said young man about an item in one of the glass cases that was...wait for it...not priced only to be told that the owner is keeping them in there without a price and they are not for sale as he is waiting for them to go up in value before he prices them. Lol!!! Needless to say, we will not be returning to this "store" and recommend that you not waste your time. read more
