Avoid this company. Send your business elsewhere…read more I purchased a home from this business in 2009. While the construction quality of the houses they build may technically pass minimum code requirements, it is not worth the nightmarish ordeal of attempting to communicate with their staff and employees. They employ real estate agents with actual interpersonal skills to lock you in to a contract, but then you are handed over to a gang of misanthropes who will bully, ignore and steamroll over you for the next few years. I have found the employees of Churchill Homes are incapable of providing clear or useful communication, and in what communication they provide they are rude and unprofessional. During the home building process we constantly received conflicting or incorrect information from various employees. Their staff function in what appears to be an incredibly disorganized fashion. Emails and phone messages sent to them are constantly ignored or forgotten, and to this day I am forced to constantly send them reminders about outstanding questions, concerns, mistakes, warranty items and more. We are talking weeks or months of zero communication on matters such as leaking windows, doors, vents, and more. They have occasionally mistaken issues with my home for issues with other homes they have built. Their turnaround time for warranty issues is very slow, bordering on comical. it has been almost two years and there are still outstanding warranty items from our initial month of occupation. Also be warned that this company secretly retains a copy of your house key, in defiance of their own contracts, for months after you take ownership of the home. The owner of the company advised me that this is done to grant tradespeople access in the event you are not home - but there is no oversight of the keys or records kept to indicate usage. The fact that the home is technically still standing is the only reason this is not a 1-star review. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere.

I've been reasonably happy with my house built by Churchill Homes, but give them a low rating for…read moretheir inexcusably poor customer service. They are slow to respond to any requests for information or service (and often don't respond at all), and when they do respond are often rude and fail to provide any of the requested details. Overall, decent home (perhaps slightly overpriced), but not worth being treated like crap for! I recommend you find another builder if you don't want 1-2 years of dealing with people who should not have any sort of customer-facing job!

Gave Ye's Sushi a try as I couldn't get into my preferred restaurants, it was a Saturday evening…read moreand I hadn't planned ahead and made a reservation. I had eaten at Ye's quite a few years ago when it was a combination AYCE sushi with order by tablet and buffet with salads, deserts, soups, etc. The main hostess was quite pleasant but the servers were quite grumpy just dropping off dishes without a single word. Servers didn't even clear plates on a regular basis and so piled up at the table. I was surprised at the good selection of Sashimi they had on the menu including tuna which many places do not have anymore due to the high cost. So selection was quite good. However, presentation was very poor, they don't make any attempt to make the food look good or provide a suitable sauce for the dish presented. They don't know how to make tempura either and their offerings are heavy and greasy. IMO this is because the restaurant has Chinese roots and not Japanese. Another gripe I would have is with the condiments they use, the ginger and wasabi is dried out and the soy sauce is so salty, more like a Chinese cooking soy sauce, than a sweeter Japanese soy sauce used for sushi and sashimi. Anyway, wasn't the best experience and given the choice would opt for one of my other favorites in the area. Will have to plan better in the future and make reservations.

Was skeptical of the place because of reviews, but it was a solid dining experience. Sushi was…read moregood and a wide variety of different dishes. We had unagi very good . As a frequent Kelsey's customer, I was very excited to experience the Kelseys in Waterloo. The…read morerestaurant appeared to be clean and well kept. We sat at the bar and our bartender/server was prompt and very friendly. He even offered some great suggestions in what to do since we are from out of town. The one thing that stuck out to us is that the manager was actively walking around and ensuring that each and every customer was having a great experience. My partner and I both ordered wings - one order of honey garlic (breaded) and one order of medium (non-breaded) . Both orders were cooked and sauced perfectly. We were impressed by the French fries as well. Definitely recommend this location.

My rating is 3.5 stars…read more Kelsey's has upped its game these days. I love the food and seem to visit once a month. When I am in Waterloo, I tend to visit a particular Starbucks cafe often. Next to this cafe is Kelsey's. I decided to have lunch day on my final day in Waterloo before heading home. It was Thanksgiving Day. I walked in and was promptly greeted. It wasn't too busy. I got a booth and ended up watching a CFL football game between Montreal and Calgary during my meal. Nice! My server seemed friendly. However, she clearly didn't know the menu all that well. I ordered the salt and pepper wings, New York style, with ranch dressing. She questioned the New York style part until I pointed at it on the menu. I got my meal and it was delicious. I love wings that have the right crispiness, juiciness, and flavour. I was still eating when she plopped down the dessert menu. Okay...? After devouring my yummy wings and fresh veggies, I wanted dessert. I didn't want anything large. I went with the takeaway cookie, except that I wanted it at the table. She took my order and went away. She came back and said that it was just the cookie that I'd get getting. Yes, I know. That's what the menu sayid. She also said that it wouldn't be heated up. Okay, I didn't have that expectation in my head. Yes, I want the cookie still. I got it moments later. It was wrapped up in its own sleeve. It was so good. It's a large cookie that's a bit crispy on the outside, but so chewy and soft on the inside. It's worth the $1.99 price before taxes. I went to pay. She asked me about what I was doing this Thanksgiving Day, whether I had family in the area, and so on. Not to put a huge damper on her day, I answered. However, not all customers want to get that personal with a server that they rarely know. Just a tip to aspiring servers. Keep it simple. Go with general questions, such as, "Did you attend Octoberfest?" How about, "Do you like Waterloo?" Anyway, here's hoping that with experience, she will turn out to be a decent server. I paid, tipped, and drove back home. The food here is consistent for Kelsey's. I liked the relaxed vibe. I'd come back again. (362)
