    Before repair
    Yelp R.

My new leather couch was accidentally ruined by tiny terrorists (toddlers). I don't know why they targeted my couch but alas the damage was done. Thankful no one was hurt. I immediately filed a claim under our fancy protection package paid for through Macy's. Sadly they said the protection did not cover acts of terrorism. We were distraught but luckily found Vinyl Leather & Renew. The service was fast, friendly, and they were able to repair the damage to the point that you can't even tell what happened. Like magic our couch was back to new. We won the battle thanks to VL&R and will keep them in our back pocket should any other unwanted acts of terrorism occur.

I feel his pricing was fair and he did an excellent job, I would highly recommend Anthony, not only is he a good guy to work with he's very knowledgeable

Anthony at VLR was awesome to deal with and did an excellent job repairing my Subaru seat. Like a dumba$$, I waited too long in watching a small tear in my seat end up spreading to a full on hole before I took action. I could see the damage continuing to spread / get bigger so I gave Anthony a call and he covered the procedure and very reasonable cost to repair my seat. The whole mobile process was great with Anthony coming out and getting the repair done in my driveway. For anyone dealing with damage to their leather / vinyl goods, don't sleep! Get it repaired ASAP and give Anthony a call, he will definitely take care of you! Mahalo Anthony!

Formerly old, taupe club chairs glow in their new blue color! Thanks Anthony!

Oh my GOODNESS. My old taupe club chairs just leapt to life in Anthony's hands. They were good chairs -- Italian made, 20 years old -- and I really wanted to use them in my new space. Fortunately, I found Anthony! Together we picked the color I was interested in, and he took the chairs away, only to return them completely "renewed," just like his business promises. The color is perfect; the application is wonderful -- they are soft, consistent and look brand, brand new. Stains, spots, fading completely gone -- it's as though I walked into a fancy shop and walked out with brand-new chairs. Add to that Anthony is delightful to work with. Fun, interesting and a great conversationalist along with being a fine craftsman. All in all, a wonderful experience. Don't buy new stuff -- take the stuff you love to Anthony and let him bring them back to life.

Anthony is a nice guy and was very accommodating. However my results were not what I was expecting. I was truly hoping for a nearly invisible repair. But, the repair on my Eames ottoman is quite noticeable. It doesn't help that I'm quite picky about these things. I'll be taking it to another company before giving up on it. I've attached the images. Maybe this is satisfactory to you?

I have a 100% cow hide, California king bed frame which needed some love. Spots were faded and blotchy, which caused discoloration. Anthony showed up on time and had all his tools ready. The bed frame turned out awesome! Keep working hard Anthony

Two barrel chairs with batik fabric

I asked for bids on renewing an Eames-type black leather chair with walnut and chrome. Tony's was the most reasonable. He did an amazing job on the 40+ year chair, including having a wood specialist repair some scuffs and scratches, so the chair looks brand new. He also picked up and delivered the chair within 2 weeks. He was so knowledgeable (and personable) that I had him recover two swivel barrel chairs with a difficult, patterned batik fabric. Those were also returned within the two week time frame, and they are beautiful. Tony is knowledgeable about fabrics and recovering furniture, as well as vehicle upholstery. You will enjoy working with him and will be happy with his work.

    The color is perfectly matched!

I called Tony earlier this week to repair a 3-4inch crack in the MBtex (vinyl) of my 2008 Mercedes. I sent him a pic and he gave me a very reasonable quote. He was able to come to me the same day! The repair took an hour and a half and is perfectly color matched! I am so pleased!! I will definitely call Tony again if I need vinyl repair in the future.

    Before: damaged seat

So glad I found this business on yelp. I got a new car in January and was not happy when I damaged the leather with a so-called leather cleaner. (Lesson learned, always test in hidden spot first) I stripped the dye right out of my lovely gray leather seat and left an ugly spot. Thankfully, Anthony was able to come to my HOUSE, took one look and a little over an hour later, voila- Just like new. Well- the spot is a little rougher textured than the rest of the seat, but that can not be fixed. The important thing is that the seat is re-dyed and one can hardly notice there was ever a problem. Price was reasonable and Anthony was nice to chat with. Highly recommend.

I have these nice, but very plain dining chairs made by Sun Furniture in the Netherlands. After…read moremany dinner parties that required the modular leaves in the table to slide out in order to accommodate more seating, I grew attached to the table that these chairs match and bought the set from a former landlord when we moved. Also, after said dinner parties and many nights of home work sessions, and a cat who insists on sitting at the dinner table, the fabric was looking a little tired. It's this sort of hessian / burlap fabric, in an oatmeal ticked, off-white color and let me tell you, it was a staining nightmare and they didn't take well to spot cleaning. So in my crafty hubris, I got all ambitious and decided to reupholster them myself--mmhmm. And here's my adventure . . . I did the research, watched some videos, visited several fabric stores, took home some swatches, picked out a great, durable fabric that matched my decor, even rented some tools from the local tool library. The seats really weren't too bad. But removing the staples, even with an upholstery hardware tack lifter was time consuming and luckily the padding was in good shape. Then there's using a regular staple gun (which I can safely and completely advise against) unless you like your hand cramping for two days after completing ONE CHAIR! So I bought an electric staple gun to speed the process which I hope to get some use out of in future projects (not related to upholstery.) Now, the fun part is, the wood on these chair bottoms and backs aren't straight plank, they have a slight bow or curve to them, making my first venture into pulling fabric taut and not stapling my hand or the cat to them mighty challenging. To add to the excitement, the backs of the chairs are these wooden planks with channels in the bottom and sides where the fabric gets folded over the padding and crown stapled with a pneumatic stapler. I had rented these tools as well as a small compressor with every intention of going all Bob Vila up in my house. After taking out rows of the small, tough bastard , 18-guage crown staples from ONE SEAT BACK, and nearly rendering my hands gouged and useless, I began to do the math of time divided by my amateur expertise and decided to let someone professional handle it. I took the backs to several places and got quotes and time frames ranging from insulting, to preposterous to outrageous. 1) $25 per seat back. 2) $150 for the set of four ($38/per seat back) 3) $45 per seat back. Really?! $160? I mean, I'm doing my part to reduce, reuse, recycle and all that, but I could nearly buy another complete dining set used for that much! And Alamo, did it for $12 per chair and did a lovely job with quick turnaround. Moral of the story is this--I have a new found, deep appreciation for the upholstery craft. And I may or may not venture into trying my (sore) hand at it again, but if I have a serious job to do I'm taking it to Alamo's. They are a super nice couple working out of their basement and I felt good giving them my money (probably not nearly enough for the trouble). He remarked my chair back types were tough to do, "All the staples," he mumbled. All the staples indeed. I am still finding castoffs all over the house. Stepping on them in the middle of the night . . .Eugghhh! Just take it to Alamo!

We use this neighborhood family business regularly. A very sweet couple, they do great work out of…read moretheir basement quickly and at a great price.
