I found some stuff that I didn't really think I would at a local record shop so that was actually pretty refreshing. The albums they sell are fairly priced and their used selections are in good shape and also very fairly priced. The staff were attentive and helpful every step of the way. Homer's is the best record store in Omaha, and in a central location to explore the Old Market and other stores nearby. The selection is vast, and they have all genres and forms of media. I personally am a vinyl collector, but my siblings are always on the lookout for CD, for which they have a large variety of as well. Their vinyl can range and get pricey, which may be due to their selection being mostly new and unused. I personally opt for older records, so their new acquisitions of used in the front is usually the section for me. They have had some great deals in that section, and something for every genre and taste. I will continue coming back here!

Unfortunately, they don't give refunds (note: gentlemen yesterday explained I could get store credit or exchange if I did not like it). Gentlemen today say, "if the game you bout was broken then you can get store credit," which I did not understand but home here all the time but for the service I just received. You guys should respect the gamer lifestyle rather then say, you buy it you keep it kind of ish(respectfully). The guy that was there today, your full of it and you know it. The worker (who I suspect was the owner?) was kind enough to box them up for me so they wouldn't get damaged on the flight home. The store is clean and well-organized without sacrificing the treasure hunting charm I look for in a record store. It would've been a great experience even if I hadn't found anything. I can't wait to come back on my next trip.

I've been driving by this place for, what it seems like years, and I've always wanted to stop in…read moreand see what's up so I decided to visit this place today and I'm glad I did. Besides the rave reviews on another site that rhymes with shmoogle, I'm in a 'retro-ish video game kick' and wanted to see what he had. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted with N64 games and racks of PS2, PS3, Wii, and Switch games. They had games for all of the consoles dating back to the NES. My main goal was to see if he had an N64 console, but sadly he didn't. He did have a few OEM N64 controllers for $20 a piece though, which is the going rate. Besides the amazing selection, the prices on the video games were pretty good too. I got a few PS3 games for $5 a piece and the discs were in new condition. No matter how you slice it, that is a great price, even for games that aren't really 'worth' anything. It's a small place but don't let that fool you; this place has a ton of stuff. I can't wait to go back after the inventory has turned a bit, to see what other gems I can find.

My husband and I have been comic collectors for years, so we are always on the hunt for when new shops open or shows are in town with comics. I randomly searched one day and saw a new result pop up - Mothership Comics. After a quick chat to a fellow collector about them (singing their praises), we were off to check it out. When we walked in the door, we knew we were among friends, and my husband went off talking forever to the owner, Adam, about anything and everything they had in common in their collecting. The interior is so nostalgic. It reminds me of the old comic shops we used to go to. Like Dragon's Lair when the they used to be on 80th and Blondo by Treasure Mart (I am dating myself, here). I loved that Motherships has the classic comic store vibe inside. Like, I literally felt like a little kid again! They had boxes of comics galore, but also some really cool graded classic ones behind the counter. They had comics, obviously, but also collectibles, Pokemon things, compendiums, posters, mangas, and even a whole room of music items too - like vinyls, CDs, shirts, and concert posters. Both of mine and my husband's favorite things - comics and music! And the prices are very fair. We even did a trade in for a graded comic we wanted that was on the wall. If you're looking for a certain issue or have some to trade in, this is the place for it, definitely. We were so excited to see a new comic shop open up, and after visiting Mothership and their awesome proprietor, we will be return customers for sure!

The shop is mainly for comics and some trading cards but there's a room in the back that has a good amount of records. When we walked in we saw the employee buying stuff from one of the customers so it appears they do buy. As you walk into the shop, you see a lot of comics and some really cool ones in the case next to the counter. We walked in and went straight to the back room with the records and were pleasantly surprised at the amount and diverse selection. After digging through the alphabetized record stands, I found a couple gems and bought them. The prices were pretty good. The owner/person working there was really nice, as well. I liked this place and would be happy to go back and do some more digging!

A great 1st edition show focusing on comics and comic art. The show is being promoted by the same…read moregroup who started up Emerald City, Rose City and Vancouver Expo and others. All successful shows before they sold them off. There were several top artist attending including Johnny Giang, Chrissie Zullo, Ryan Kincaid, The Janimal, Chris Giarrusso and Mog Park. Several vendors selling all kinds of merch. There was a cool panel that was pretty good too. Sketch Up had 3 artist doing free sketches for the attending audience. Many were funny and exciting to watch. Hearing their stories of their careers was quite entertaining. A drink and draw Friday night was open to anyone. After each round they are rated by a group of judges awarding prizes. And as the night grew so did the art into something else. Cosplayers were in attendance but were not a big part of the show. That could change in future dates. It did not stop them in bringing their best to flaunt infront of all those around. And there were several show stoppers. If you do have a chance to attend I do recommend especially now. Prices are low and I don't believe that will stay.

There is a mixture of all sorts of books, including government publications, small brochures, self-published books, and textbooks. I found a couple of books that I've never seen before. I spent over an hour here just looking at books in one specific area because they are piled on the floor and on top of the bookshelves. When Carl walked me over to the business and economics section it was so well organized I was able to take my time and go through it one book at a time. I found several books on Howard Hughes that I wasn't expecting to see. His staff is great, very hospitable. If you're ever in Omaha Nebraska make sure you visit Jackson Street booksellers. I will be back next year, God willing and the next time I will make my schedule so that I can spend time there. The price of the books are fair and of value. You will not be disappointed.
