Vinyl Cup is such a cool store, right in the bustling neighborhood of the Old Market. They have so many records to choose from, in every era, genre, and price range. It's extremely easily shoppable too, with each section separated into alphabetical order. The staff is so helpful and pleasant, as well as super eager to help you find anything you're seeking specifically or based on what sound you are looking for. There aren't too many record shops left in the world nowadays, so Vinyl Cup is a great shop to have right here in Omaha. Definitely check them out! read more

Vinyl Cup Records definitely lives up to the name! Almost everything here is a vinyl record and, like I mentioned in another review, Vinyl is BACK, baby. Vinyl is KING. Those other formats just don't sound as good for a lot of things. Great selection of new and used albums at a variety of price points. I really like that they put their used records in plastic sleeves. Protects them AND - maybe other people don't have this, but I don't like the way album covers (when I browse bins of used ones) feel against the tips of my fingers. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The cup part? Well on Saturday mornings they have free coffee and donuts. And other times they have beer. As a plus, it's all local. read more

Do not shop here unless you want your money stolen. I ordered RSD releases on their website which let me process & pay for two vinyls. My card was charged for two vinyls & I received three confirmation emails: one when my order was placed, the second giving a status update on all RSD orders, and the third being a confirmation email when both of my vinyls shipped. You can imagine my surprise when I opened my package only to find one vinyl even though I was charged for two. I had to call a few times to finally reach someone on the phone who told me that I was only allowed one per order and that I was already refunded (which I WASN'T). If I was only allowed to order one vinyl, why did your website allow me to purchase two? There were NO warnings on the webpage like other websites that had a warning on the page saying one per order & also didn't allow you to add more than one to a cart. Also, where was the communication from the store itself that I would only be receiving one in the mail and that a refund was coming? My first time learning about this should NOT have been the day I was expecting two vinyls, which were presents for teenage girls who were very excited. I placed my order on April 23. I received my order on May 8th. On the phone, the guy I spoke to let me know to email them if I hadn't received my refund. I emailed May 8th letting them know that I did not receive a refund and asked for the status of my refund. No response. I emailed again on May 12 since I did not hear back and let them know I would be contacting my bank if I did not hear back about the status of my order. It is now May 16 and I have not received any responses regarding my refund. It has been 23 days that I have not received a refund. If a refund was processed, I would have received it already. This store is fraudulent and they do not care about their customers. Do not shop here. I now have to deal with this through my bank because this store steals money from their customers. read more

By far the worst record store in Omaha (or at least the Old Market). Their whole deal is making record shopping more inviting and less elitist (which is definitely noble, given how mainstream record collecting has become), but then they charge collectible-grade prices for records that are, condition-wise, good-plus at best. The only times I've found anything worth buying here were pretty obviously because whoever does the pricing didn't know what they had. Buy a shirt at Raygun, then head across the street to Grapefruit. I can guarantee you'll find something more interesting for a much more reasonable price. read more

This store is fantastic. Good selection of collectors, new and used vinyl. They gave me a local IPA to enjoy while I was perusing and the owner was so friendly and engaging. Not in a pushy or too-chatty way, but definitely made me feel welcome and like I was a regular. I didn't plan on spending too much time there, but 1 beer, 5 records and a free tote bag later, I was a happy customer. They didn't have one of the records I was looking for, and when I told him I was from KC, he recommended a KC shop and even offered to call the owner there to see if she has it. First time here today. Stopped in with my wife, we were greeted with a warm welcome by the staff, and given the rundown of the store and offered a drink while we browse. very impressed. They have a section of new arrivals, section of new, vintage, and bargain bin section. All the ones I looked at were in great shape, and if you don't feel like taking them out of the sleeve. You don't have to, since they have the quality of the said record marked on the outside sleeve. Not a huge place, but what they have is awesome and in great shape. Moderately priced in my opinion. If you come here to browse or to look for "that one" record either way you won't be disappointed. read more

This is a great little record shop. The used selection is a bit more limited than you find in shops that offer used titles, but it makes for a speedy, yet enjoyable, browsing experience. The new titles cover a broad range of genres, where anyone should be able to find an album or two for their collection. The owner/staff are always friendly and helpful. And it's always an added bonus when Earl, the shop pup, is there. I will continue to be a repeat customer. read more
