As someone who's recently found interest in vinyl albums, I happened to stumble upon Vinyl Daze Records and I'm so happy I did. The store has thousands of records in every genre of music you can imagine. I could have literally spent hours going through each bin of records. I loved how they have older, classic albums but also, newly released albums as well. The prices vary depending on the album. After shuffling through the bins, I purchased two albums and both sounded great on my record player! One of the few great businesses I found in VA beach and a fine record store. You might have trouble locating this place as it's located on the inner right side of the shopping area. Try not to miss it because they have one of the most diverse selections of music at affordable prices. Found me some good gems such as Ma$e's Harlem World and Peaches & Herb's 2 Hot. Plus they have listening stations to sample your music before purchasing. In addition to records, there's shirts and equipment such as turntables and speakers. But we know that you're here for the records and LPs. There's something for everyone here for all genres. I strongly encourage you to check out the section behind the curtain on the left side. It's clearance bin where there's goodies for cheap. Or you can look at the rare/autographed bin up front which should be labeled high roller. Awesome store with a great selection it's a shame I have to give it 1 star just because of the rude guy working the counter. Greeted me and my girlfriend with a very aggressive "you just walked in through the exit." Then as we're leaving he approached and asked my girlfriend if she put back the Revolution record? We didn't have any bags so obviously if we're not holding a record we put it back. Come to find out, my girlfriend never even picked up a Revolution record, he had her confused with another girl who was Latina. Weird/confrontational guy killed the whole energy of the place won't be coming back. read more

Really great selection of vinyl. Went in looking for a particular LP (The Shins live at Thrird Man Records). Not only did they have it...but it was at a great price too. I've been price checking the going rate on eBay and Amazon. Good thing with Vinyl Daze...no shipping charge! Since my last visit to the store ( which was probably Record Store Day 2014) they've added a whole room of turntables for sale. (They also buy them too). I've always been into music, so naturally I am drawn to the nostalgia of vinyl records. I received a record player last Christmas after debating which one I wanted for quite some time. I've been slowly building my collection and have found some gems thanks to Vinyl Daze! I've been eyeing this store for a while but couldn't have imagined how incredible the selection would be. The owner is very kind, knowledgable, and helpful (so are his staff). He is incredibly organized and can likely recommend something or help you find what you are seeking. He has three bins of New Arrivals that you will want to check out; there are some fantastic finds in there! The records are reasonably priced, ranging from $5 - $40 depending on the artist, condition, and collectability. The store carries music from all genres; I guarantee you'll find something you like. It's tucked away on the side of Eurasia in Virginia Beach, but the beautiful thing about this store is that there is plenty of parking. I have been looking for a vinyl shop for a while and I am glad I found Vinyl Daze Records. I was instantly greeted upon entering, which was appreciated and at a first glance I didnt know where to start. I was shocked on how much stock they had, I ended up finding myself digging through crates at the very back of the store. What I liked the most is that they offer Singles vinyls. Compared to other shops or thrifts stores, I usually come across whole albums. I recently came across my old vinyl records and decided to invest in a modern turntable.....the rest as they say is history. I was immediately hooked again on my vinyl collection and had to find some more music. I started my journey going through the local thrift stores collections and ended up with only a few gems I was fortunate enough to come across. I then found 'Vinyl Daze Records' on a Google search. I have lived in Virginia Beach over 20 years and never knew the place existed so off I went to check out the offerings! This place is amazing! As soon as I walked in I was met by the owner and staff and given a $50 tour of the store layout and organization. They are extremely knowledgeable of music and their large inventory. They were more than willing to help me on my journey as it was obvious I looked like a kid in the candy store. I then spent the next 45 minutes going through bins and bins of albums and coming across 100's I wanted to take home with me. I ended up settling with half a dozen albums this visit and all were in great condition. I will be back for seconds, thirds, fourths, and most likely a weekly trip to the store! I don't think you will find anything close to the selection, quality, and professional customer service I found at Vinyl Daze Records. It is well worth a visit even if you are not currently spinning vinyl as you can just to travel back in time and enjoy the ride! You may even find yourself purchasing a turntable on your visit as they sell equipment also. Then all you need is a few vinyl records and off you go! read more

Just cannot say enough about Stephanie (sorry if spelling is wrong) and Dave! I'm a huge Joy Division and New Order fan...it was meant to be when I walked in and saw a JD album on the shelf. Ended up leaving with 2 pieces but wanting 4 more. They even have an awesome USB connected AT turntable aka the 1200 series I ran in 1982-1984. Flashback time. What a record store should be. Upon arrival I was greeted by the owner (Martin) and given a warm welcome and quick directions to what is where. Possibly the most organized record shop I've ever been to-after combing through so many shabbily UN-organized dusty bins and crouching on floors to squint at the spines in other stores. Mack and Martin are a great help and really know their stuff. Clean, spacious, friendly owners, reasonable prices, rare stuff-what else is required? I have been wanting to shop here for awhile now. We were on a long waitlist for Bay Local and decided to make the most of our time. We own a record player ourself but we were also buying a gift for our nephew. All the workers were friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. They have a huge selection! We honestly needed a lot more time to shop. An hour wasn't enough to skim the surface. Lucking they had exactly what my nephew has been asking for. They even gave me a sturdy box to ship it in when I told them I was shipping the record to my nephew. It was a great experience and I look forward to returning. read more

Hidden gem in the back of a shopping strip. Very good selection of used rock, punk, metal and jazz albums with moderate prices: not cheap and not over-priced. As a avid collector of vinyl records, I always look for a good record store, but I am often let down because of horrible service, bad selection, high prices, etc... Let me just say that this place is NOTHING like that. Vinyl Daze has a huge and expansive selection of new and used records alike, at pretty good prices for a local shop. What really stood out to me, however, was the extremely compassionate, and knowledgeable service, a seemingly rare combination these days. Just moved here from New Orleans and found this gym the day before RSD. Staff couldn't be more helpful or knowledgeable. Specific sections for different genres. I was impressed by depth and breadth of selections. Price was extremely competitive and cheaper than other local places closer to Norfolk. Had some really great nola brass bands vinyls that I did not expect. Great place and definitely will be going back. read more

Went on RSD '15. By FAR the most comprehensive section of used records I have ever seen (I was looking for classic rock and Beatles-like pop). Very well organized. They even have a small Quadrophonic section! However, the prices on used records are on the high side (about equal to Discogs prices including shipping). Prices in Manhattan are even lower for similar records. Their "dollar records" section is actually a $5 section. That being said, this is a must visit if you are in the area. They had a bunch of records that I never seemed to come across "in the wild." read more

I went in frustrated with finding a turntable that was decently priced with good sound...I had been through three other turntables in several weeks that had stellar reviews online. The owner, Martin, greeted me at the door and patiently listened to my situation. He showed me a few selections in his well-stocked stereo room and helped me select a Music Hall, which he had personally calibrated. He even gave me an unasked for discount! Definitely a great store. Great selection and really good prices, even rivaling online shops, which is rare know a days. I always find something at a good price to snatch up. They even have a good selection of gear, which most shops don't have. Most places have one or two pieces they push. My main problem with this establishment is the fact that they over price all of their records by a long shot to the point where it's robbery. No thanks, I'll just go to AFK or spend my money on eBay. Stopped in on vacation. HUGE selection - if possible, plan to spend a good amount of time here. Ask the owner for a run-down on the organization of the store - it will be worth your time. Only vinyl, no CDs. All spread out over three rooms. Large area in the back with discount vinyl that I didn't have a ton of time to go through, but wish I had. Found a number of records I hadn't seen in my local store...online price was at least $5 cheaper, but it's nice to shop local and see it in person.
