I had a very frustrating experience at Chesapeake Square Pawn. The wait time was extremely long, and there didn't seem to be any sense of urgency or organization among the staff. It appeared that many of the employees were new and unsure of what they were doing, which made the process even slower and more confusing. What really stood out to me was the inconsistency in their pricing. Designer items were quoted significantly lower than expected--far less than what I was offered for gold and silver. That lack of balance and knowledge in evaluating items was disappointing and made me question their expertise. Customer service overall was poor. The staff was not very attentive or welcoming, and there was little effort to make customers feel comfortable during the long wait. If you're going to have people waiting for extended periods, there should at least be basic accommodations like seating, Wi-Fi, or access to a public restroom. Overall, the experience felt unprofessional, unorganized, and lacking in proper customer care. I would not recommend this location based on my second and final visit. read more

Do not pawn your guns here. I went in to pay to get my gun out of the pawn shop. I provided my driver's license, which is out of state because I'm prior military (not in the state of Virginia). The employee told me I needed documentation from the address on my ID. I handed him my Washington State fishing license, which has my ID address. The employee said no, you must have a Virginia ID to be able to take the gun out. I said, I was told the last time (I've pawned this same gun 3 different times at this same pawn shop before) that in order to take the gun out I needed some type of documentation that had the same Washington State address on it. I said, this is the documentation, a fishing license. He said no, you must have an ID from the state you are currently living in to use to get out the gun. He said I was misinformed by one of the employees. I said the last time I used this exact fishing license to get out the exact same gun before from here. He said no only people with Virginia IDs can be used to take out the gun. I said, you are not the DMV, you don't have that authority to change policy to me, for employees to tell me different information then not allow me to take out my pawn item. Chesapeake Square Pawn changes policy on gun items and use their word of mouth from misinformed employees as policy. They change their policy so I'm not able to take out my gun when I've been told what to use and I provided exactly what I was told. They are quick to take the item, with the exact same ID as I've used 3 different times and then change their policy not allowing me to get my gun out. By the pawn company changing policy, not being informed, using my same ID, I'm accumulating excessive charges. I tried to take my gun out but now I can't, so they are continuing to take my money. The employees acknowledged I got the exact same gun out with the exact same ID in the past. The employees said I must get a Virginia ID and that's the only way I can take my gun out. read more

I reached out about selling our Asus ROG G750 gamers laptop. It's in impeccable condition. 4TB. I received an email to please bring it in at anytime. I got asked how much I wanted for it. Of course I'd love $1000. My husband bought it for $2500. But I told the associate I recognized it was 8 years old, taking into account depreciation - the lowest I'd like to go is $500, but to please make me an offer. The associate then told me that they don't take computers older than 2018, or with the windows update mine had (Windows 8). I'm giving 4-stars because the store was clean and even though I couldn't sell my computer, the associate was very nice and even suggested other options on how to sell it. My only complaint (hence the deduction of a star), is that I wish someone had maybe asked me a few more questions in the email, prior to coming over (what year is the computer, what's the latest windows update on it, etc), because then it would have saved me a trip. Gas prices are incredibly high, and I burned some driving over :/. Maybe disclosing it's store policy to not take computers older than 2018... In the end, not selling worked out for us. I updated the 2014 Asus ROG to windows 11, and I will use it for my boys to do their homework on. read more

I'm reasonably knowledgable about guns and a very respectful person. 5 gun shops in Virginia Beach treated me badly either for my young appearance, or because I'm skinny, to the point they refused sale. The dumbest reason to deny sale. Anyways, this is the very first gun store to treat me like a human being and to return the respect I offer them. Highly recommend this place. The staff and general manager sold me the worst and most dangerous (to the user) firearm. When I told him I would be willing to sell back two of the firearms that I purchase the day prior in exchange for a more dependable AK, (which I would've been happy to pay the difference for. I just needed a gun that wouldn't potentially explode in my hand as I used it) he said he could give me 50% of the value of those brand new guys that I had purchased previously from them. They have a great selection with a little bit of everything for everyone (jewelry, electronics, firearms, handbags, power tools and even 4 wheels for your kids) We went to look at their jewelry selection and were very impressed with the price and quality. The owner of the store was actually working in his shop and was very knowledgeable and helpful and helped us personally. He told us They are in the process of expanding the store to about a quarter of the size of the whole shopping center. I would have been happy to give them 5 stars if they wouldn't have taken my money!! So my story is I put 2 guns on layaway in February. I paid over the 10% down for both of them! About 3wks ago I went to purchase one of the two... great (no issues) I walked out with my gun. Well 2 days ago I went to purchase my 2nd one ONLY to be told it was sold and the money I paid down wouldn't be returned me because I didn't come in and make a payment last week. I told them I was sick and told to self quarantine so I didn't leave my house. Needless to say I wasn't thinking about a pawn shop because I'm scared I might have this nasty virus (Covid-19) But the owner refused to come out the back and talk to me and sent her employee James out to tell me pretty much I'm not getting my money back that I've already paid towards the gun!! I think this is bad customer service in every aspect!! Ppl are losing their lives, jobs and everything and this business uses this time to take money from a paying customer that was going to bring them plenty of business! My favorite place for fire arms. This place affordably built and over time allowed me to affordably modify my rifle. The services they offer are diverse when it comes to arms. They also have many other things like jewelry and recreational vehicles. The thing I don't like is how fast the antique arms sell. I recommend saving and keeping your eyes out if you want one, or just ask someone there to see if they can locate one for you. In short, all my arms needs are met here beyond expectations. I went in looking for a specific item as a Christmas gift for my favourite hunter and was pleasantly surprised by how clean the store was, how friendly and knowledgeable the staff was, how great the prices were, and how much I enjoyed dealing with Maurice. I had only planned on getting a single item that my friend had checked out for me earlier in the week but ended up grabbing a few things after chatting with Maurice. When the background check took a little longer than anticipated due to the large volume of requests so close to the holidays, Maurice took care of us. I walk in this place for the first time , I bring in 4 sterling silver desert cups , with each cup weighing 20 grams of sterling , and 2 silver half dollars , each weighing approximately 14.5 grams of 90 % silver , the "man" working there weighed everything himself and says , ok I can do 8 for everything ! with a smug smirk on his face ! and I look at him like REALLY !!!! I proceeded to tell the ( for a cleaner choice of words ) "guy" that I could get 10 dollars for the 2 half dollars alone ! not counting the 4 desert cups that weighed 80 grams of 92.5 percent silver !! He says , what were you thinking !!
