The shop owner told me that there was a delay in shipment (which happens a lot) then when it came I ignorantly believed it was a first print (didn't verify, that's on me) and was charge $20 for it! Fast forward years later, I've let that go. I can't go back in time and change it. And I've decided to let it go and continue going to a store that over charges and lies. I bought the Invincible Omnibus volume 1 and it was clearly read and mishandled spine cracked and not in the greatest condition but still paid full price. I could've got it on Amazon for less, NEW. But once again I let it go. I've been going back every week to see if things change but they don't. Then this last time I went the shop owner was entertaining racist conversation from an ignorant customer. It's been over a week since this happened. I usually go in with my headphones because I get over stimulated in a small crowded space like this shop so I've never noticed this before, but that day I didn't have my headphones in. So, I heard everything. I have receipts showing that I've spent over $200 dollars in December/January at this shop and I regret giving them my business. Needless to say I will not be going back.

If you're going to have so many rules, at least let people in the door. My trek was to simply see in each store what was already graded and on the wall. I found a great book, Incredible Hulk 181 and was pleasantly surprised to see that it had a market value that was current . . . instead of an inflated value that was in no way close to fair market value. This made it easy to negotiate for such a key book within a couple of hundred dollars. As a result, I'm grateful for the work they do to make comic buying a great experience for all of us who love books. So far, after visiting all the stores from downtown KC to all the stores in Kansas, Nerdstalgia is, IMHO, the best shop in the Kansas City Metro.

Guests can grab a comic or play some video games while enjoying a sweet treat or grabbing their caffeine boost. I had the Lois Lane and the Banshee, both named after comic characters. I really enjoyed both, especially the banshee. Inside is nice and clean, as is the bathroom. I was kindly greeted upon arrival and thanked on my way out.
