I don't understand how places like these stay in business for so long. Wish I had taken this store's online bad reviews seriously and had stayed away... Worked with one of their sales guys to order Andersen windows for my reno. Went over the order multiple times w/ him, over email and phone. Over a month later, found out he ordered half the items when my contractor went for pick-up. No apology, nothing... Now I have to pay contractors to come back because my order was messed up. I've been dealing with Viola brothers for almost twenty years as a professional contracting service. Their service desk is the best in the business as is their yard help. Viola Bros is undoubtedly the fastest in and out time of any mason supply yard in the business. On most days it takes 15 minutes or less once you bring your ticket to the yard to get loaded and be on your way. This is not the case with other supply yards. Their sales desk is always fully staffed and rarely do you wait in line longer then five minutes. Im no stranger to Home depot and Lowes as I go there quite often as well, but I wouldn't trust specialty item offers to them. I ordered a garbage can from Home Depot that took four months to be delivered. I ordered railings for my home through Viola that I got in two days with no issues. read more

Love these guys! The prices on lumber can't be beat and the service is very good. They are always friendly and knowledgeable when I show up there. I have purchased all sorts of stuff from them, pressure treated wood, hard to find moulding, sand and stone all at prices that beat Home Depot. Unlike Home Depot though, you pay for it first and then show your receipt and these guys load it up on your car for at no extra charge. As a handy woman who is now pregnant I really appreciate this kind of service! I send my contractors to them all the time also and they often tell me they don't know of anyone who can beat their prices on lumber. The only thing that could make it better for me would be if they had longer office hours, but they are a local company so I assume this keeps costs down and allows their workers to have lives outside of work. I go there from Montclair because it's worth it to me. Check them out! You'll be glad you did. read more

On 5/2/14 I bought more than $700.00 worth of blocks and material from this store (I am a home owner). First they sold me lot more material than what I actually needed (I gave my measurement to the sales person, and then he recommended the quantity of material I should buy from them). When I asked him if I can return any material that I don't use without any problem, he said "just bring them back" we will give you the refund. Also he specifically said "don't worry about the extra material just bring them back we will give your money back". Well! After the project I realized that they had sold me at least 40% more blocks than I used. When I took the unused blocks back to the store and returned them they charged me a 20% restocking fee. When I informed them what I was told by the other sales person they said that the other sales person was off that day, and I have to pay the 20% fee regardless. Then the manager got involved and showed me a small sign posted in a corner of the store which says about the 20% fee. When I asked the manager why I was not informed about the 20% fee by the sales person when I specifically asked him he said nobody has to tell me rather I have to know about it. He was very unprofessional and told me "I can do whatever I want" but he is not going to refund the 20% fee back. I also reminded him that I did the purchase based on the trust I placed on the sales person, that I can return unused material without any issues. He said he don't care about it. I would never do business with this company again and tell all my friends to stay away. I already filed a claim with BBB, and contacting my bank. Be careful with these guys they deceive you by selling more material so they can charge a fee when you return. Also everybody over there is very unprofessional and unfriendly including the guys in the yard. read more
