Had a terrible interaction with a staff member today, bad enough to come check other reviews and lo and behold... others agree. The associate clearly dislikes her job so much as to not care whether she has returning customers or not. Was rude to my child. HORRIBLE exchange policy. Would never ever return here or recommend to anyone. So many good stores to support in Chatham and this is not one. Out $200 because a purchase was made 8 days ago instead of 7. read more

Walk on by. Aside from the extremely overpriced or bizarre clothing collections, Violet's staff wins the award for the most rude on Cape. I have been a resident for over 20 years- I have seen it all, and Violets is the worst. Today, they accused my daughter of stealing. They followed her into another store, had her go back to Violets, accuse her of stealing an $8 can cover. When she pointed to the cover sitting on a shelf in the store, they STILL didn't apologize and dug thru her bags of purchases from other stores. They claimed she put it in her bag-even though their SECURITY VIDEO shows she did NOTHING of the sort. Shameful. Rude. Never again. Try Jackie's down the street. Much better prices and selections. A cute boutique! Pricey but good collection of cute clothing, althleisure, and accessories. But sorry...the absolute rudest sales associates again and again that I just can't give my business. Owner may want to take note that the girls working enjoy chatting with eachother about staying up til 3AM, being hungover, and rudely about their manager openly together in the shop versus helping customers. Curly hair with glasses was a particular treat tonight. read more

Avoid at all costs!! Not only is Violets very overpriced , but the employees are rude. I set my bag down for a minute to read the map. The salesgirl quickly moved my bag and said I couldn't leave it there. My friends and I would have bought a few items but we just did not feel welcome at all, based on the attitude of the salesgirls. We also were going to eat just a bite of our candy and she quickly told us to leave. What a shame they lost all of our business. read more

I've been a loyal costumer for years and that ended today. Today I was accused of stealing an $8 item that the employees failed to locate. Store is full of overpriced items and they think I'd steal an $8 coozie, as if. It's just utterly insulting. Almost sad to say I won't be going in there again. Workers were so rude I can't fathom how they could ever be hired. They didn't check their video tapes. This elderly woman followed me 10 minutes AFTER I left the store, took me away from my family, and brought me into the store because they couldn't locate this item. I pointed to the item which was sitting on the shelf as she proceeded to tear through my bag of newly purchased items from another store. It was embarrassing and unnecessary. Lost my business, my family's, and my friends'. Plenty of other better stores in Chatham: try Jackie's or All Points Beautiful. Their staff is wonderful and helpful and the items in the store are reasonably priced and great quality, more than I can say for Violet's. read more

We went there because my friend Daisy looooooves shiny things. And lo and behold, that place was full of shiny. As well as fancy broad rimmed hats, Splendid tees and Shoshana dresses. It also appeared to carry things resembling Lilly Pulitzer. Also scarves and flats. So basically this was a store for fabulously stylish women on Cape Cod. I, myself, purchased a swarovski crystal encrusted octopus ring with black eyes. Yes, you could call it baller. Because it is. However, this place lost one star because I got a bracelet that is already broken. After two wears. TWO!!!! I live in Florida, I can't return it! SMH. Whatever, go here if you are fabulously stylish and want jewelry that no one else can have unless they take swanky weekend vaca's on the cape. read more

I always thought this was such a precious little shop with a fabulous selection of jewelry. I was really disappointed to discover the ridiculous markup on their inventory. My mother-in-law bought a necklace there for $38 only to discover that the store across the street sold it for $18. They will only offer store credit, so there was no point to her returning it. Just a heads up...this was a big disappointment to us. read more

The dresses are ridiculously expensive and not particularly pretty. There was one old woman who was unforgivably rude. She screamed at some other kids on the store for just standing still and was very rude to me when I asked about other colors and sizes of a dress. That's no way to do business. I can't get over how rude she was. Instead go to jackie's, sundance, Isabella's boutique or Tanika's . They are all very similar, less expensive and a MUCH better experience. Shopping downtown Chatham for a gift for a friend, and keeping an eye out for a dress to wear to my brother's wedding this September, when I popped into Violet's. Found a funny small gift for a friend, and spotted some dresses that, despite the $200-350 price tags, I thought I might come check out when I wasn't so sweaty from walking. I maneuvered around the 4-5 teenage employees standing around gossiping, to pay for my $8 small purchase. "We only take credit cards for $10 or more," the clerk says. Now I'm a year round local (which she would have been able to tell by my local bank card), and a luxury business owner in a nearby town. I know that it can cost more to run credit cards for small items. The better response would be, "We generally don't take cards for under $10 purchases, but just remember that for next time, this time, it's no problem." Instead, they followed the no credit card lines with, "Well you can buy 2!" Instead I bought zero. I will not go back to look at the $200-350 dresses, that's for sure. Nor anything else. read more

Huh- I've only ever had a fabulous experience there! What I love is that the clerks there will really spend a lot of time with you on what really looks good on you and accessorizing the whole outfit- which I need! It's like having an appointment with a stylist. The clothes choices are first rate and I've always found the prices for the other stuff fair.... read more
