Well, darn it... I thought it was just me... But I didn't come to Yelp before I showed up here. Like others below the Service felt very rushed. Funny thing is when I walked in. I asked for a pedi gel mani and an eyebrow service for myself And a pedi and mani for my granddaughter. They did the pedicure and they painted my granddaughter's nails... And then met me at the register to cash me out and then insult to injury asked for a tip in cash so then I had to go to use their ATM, which cost me three dollars. I do not recommend. Especially if you're going to get a pedicure. First off they weren't very friendly. The lady I had doing my nails dug so deep to remove my cuticles it was so painful. My big toe was bleeding the entire time. She did apologize at the end but there is no need to dig that deep to remove the cuticles. The paint job was also very bad. Tina shaped my nails and another nail tech painted the designs. They turned out beautifully! I was very happy with them. (Pink and purple nails) The second time, I came in for a fill. If I could give a no star review, I would! Yen did my daughter's nails. He refused to give her what she wanted and treated her horribly! He swore at her and then told her she better not tell anyone how he was to her. The way he treated her as a young teenager was borderline harassment. She left in tears. I called that day to complain and spoke with the manager. She wouldn't let me speak to the owner, stating he lives in Florida. But she said I could pick up a full refund for the service due to the poor treatment Yen gave my daughter. We went to get the refund and they were "closed" even tho the lights were on, open sign was on, and we where there will before closing. My daughter went a few days later to get the refund and Yen verbally harassed her, refused the refund, and yelled at her that she was confused. My husband called to talk again to the manager and Yen came on the phone and began yelling at my husband saying we were trying to rob him and that we were all confused, and he treats everyone that way, and there was nothing wrong with the way he treated people. My husband requested to speak to the owner and Yen refused to allow that. He just kept yelling at my husband. In a customer service type business, treating customers disrespectfully, yelling, cursing, and not trying to take any accountability is not acceptable. No one should be subjected to this and I can't say enough AVOID this salon! I went in today for a pedicure, manicure and eyebrow wax. My pedicure was rushed and there was no callous removal, even though it was included in the tier I selected. I got bruised from the eyebrow wax and my acrylic nails are lumpy. Despite this, I still tipped 25% of the total, because some of the ladies are actually nice. The nail tech cashing me out had the audacity to ask me for a bigger tip. 25% is more than generous for basic nail services. I had no designs, short nails and no extra requests. My service costed $100 and I tipped $25. She actually looked displeased when I declined to tip more. I will never ever return to VIP nails. They have nail choices on the counter that are not available in house. That was annoying but the receptionist found me a similar pigment. My daughters nails were a mess but I told her she needs to watch them and say something before they are done. One of her nails wasn't completely done to her cuticle. It had a big chunk in the corner not done. They would get bigger tips if they didn't tell people how to do so. I know you aren't going to claim your tip since you want it in cash...and that is fine. I hardly ever get my fingernails done, so this is a pedicure review. I LOVE this place. Do not be scared by the other reviews...I have been coming here for years and have never had any issues. I am an EC native, and have probably gotten a pedi at every place in town that offers them. While some other places are adequate, VIP nails is the best. It's spacious and serene. You can actually relaaaaax here. There's nothing worse than getting a pedicure and leaving just as stressed as when you got there. The staff is friendly and skilled. Went to the salon today, I walked in and asked if they had time to do a Gel pedicure, I was told pick a color and it may be a few minutes. 2 min later I was taken to a chair and told to put my feet in the water. That's where I sat for the next hour. I watched ladies clear out and even a lady came in and they started her pedicure before even coming to do mine. I was not happy. It took two sets of the chair (30min massage each) and additional 10min before someone finally came over by me. Then the lady didn't even do gel polish and rushed through the whole thing. Went here with my girlfriend to get a deluxe pedicure, and we did not have a good experience. For one, I only went because I wanted my callus's shaved, and they didn't even touch them. Spent more time massaging my calves than anything else. On the other hand, I ended up with in grown toe nails on both big toes...very painful. But worst of all...my girlfriend ended up with an ingrown toe nail on her big toe and it ended up becoming infected. She had to see the doctor and received some antibiotics. Went with my 12 year old daughter for pedicures. My tech was good enough but the older lady that had my daughter immediately took out a Dremal type tool and started grinding on the tops of her nails. Well this is the last time I'll be going here. I booked an appointment a week ago and I arrive in time to be told sorry she had to run a errand. Just wait and hour. NO, I left. I rebooked a few days later. So the person I've booked with AGAIN is missing or what ever. So I go to someone new. I should have just walked out and be done with them. But I have a function and I really need them done. They tell me my nails are growing crooked. Believe me I've had these nails for 51 years. THEY DONT GROW CROOKED. A few things, don't bother making an appointment you'll never get in on the time you scheduled. They charged me for a nail that fell off when the reason it fell off was cause it wasn't put on right in the first place? It fell off it didn't rip off. I took my 5 yr old granddaughter in for a "fun day" with Mama. The lady who did my granddaughters nails didn't speak to her once and when she took off her sock and shoe she made a horrible face like my granddaughter smelled bad. Very rude. Had a 50 minute pedicure and it was only 25 minutes long. Told them that I also still had calluses on my feet. My mom and my sister were with me and they even said you're done already. One I told the lady what had happened and about the calluses still on my feet she tells me to sit down and she feels the water and walks away. Sat there for 15 minutes no one else came. My friend suggested this place to me. I got done working out and VIP is really close to my workout spot so I thought I would drive over because I needed my dip taken off and was thinking of getting new dip nail polish put back I on. I say again "I could really come back tomorrow" and he just continued on. He starts on my hands and I can tell he is pissed (not talking at all, answering my few questions, etc.). I stopped talking and started to feel uncomfortable. I then want to ask him to cut my nails down before reapplying dip. He shakes his head yes. I then say "can you make my nails a little more squared off with rounded edges?". I don't get my nails done often so I don't know all terminology but was being nice and trying to explain to him what I was thinking. He cut my nails in a square with really sharp edges. I then asked if there was anyway he could round out the edges a little. He then slammed his file down and said "you said square, did you not?" In a really sharp loud tone. I then said, "alright, you are not going to talk to me like that" he said nothing, then I said "it seems you are really angry at me, I am not sure what happened". (It's because I am there late but they asked me to stay ‍). He said nothing so I asked if he was angry at something and he replied "yes". I then proceeded to say I was just going to leave and he said "whatever". I paid 10$ for taking off my nail polish and left. I have NEVER been talked to like this and it was totally inappropriate. The man who did my nails filed them so much that my nails got super weak and thin and also cut my cuticles with the same drill file until they bled. After he did that he put nail primer on (which I'm assuming is alcohol based) and it got in all of the cuts HE gave me and I cried out in pain, which he ignored. The top layer of my natural nail also came off, and one of my thumbs was ripped down the side pretty far. I didn't know that they're supposed to soak your nails and file them to remove! This was my first time getting acrylics removed at a salon and I didn't find out until after that this wasn't how all places do it.
