The owner has been messaging me privately regarding this matter... and not to resolve the issue, but to argue and call me fake. I've posted reviews a couple times before and it gets reported for being fake because they are awful at handling negative criticism. Worst customer service. Extremely confused when I was told that they don't deal with "my kind" here. There was a pricing misunderstanding on a package I purchased, so I asked for a refund and they refused. All of this would have been fine, misunderstandings happen... but the anger the owner had towards me, and the humiliation would never have me step foot in there again. I had been there for multiple services, but maybe because I had a couple different last names he treated me like I was a newcomer or hadn't been there before, I'm not too sure. read more

They took their time, showed me how each bed works, and were interested in me (as a newbie) not burning! This has to be my favorite place to tan. I went in the other day with a friend and they let me give her one of my visits. I usually only do stand ups because I'm afraid of getting too claustrophobic in a bed, but the two workers there, (one being John & I forgot the other girls name sorry!) were so helpful. They were very informative about what all their lotions contain and what would fit fit me best. John also told me about the bed that was a part of my package that i could use instead of a stand up, which he somehow managed to convince me to try! And I loved it. I had the best experience here. They're very polite and so CLEAN. I can't say that enough SO CLEAN. I won't tan anywhere else, I can swear by this place. Ps I think John is the owner. He is so knowledgable! I'm rating based on the business and my VersaSpa level 3 tan. I've received the tan at other salons and it has always turned out well, turned out great here too! I walked in about 10 minutes before close for a VersaSpa spray tan after being informed last minute I had a work thing the next day. I was greeted by who I'm assuming is the owner, John, and was told they can accommodate me no problem. He said since I was a first time customer, my tan would also be discounted. I posted a photo regarding my bad mystic experience at VIP tanning during the summer (I came out half brown, half white and was denied the opportunity to spray again or get a refund according to the employee on the phone). I was contacted recently by the manager (John K) via Yelp private message who stated that "it would have been my pleasure to make it right." I was willing to give VIP another chance so I messaged him to let him know about my experience in detail. Unfortunately, I have not heard back from the manager since his initial message one month ago and chose to post this review so other tanners can seek out a salon that does provides good service, products, AND customer service... as VIP is not it. UPDATE 11/18: The manager (John K) has chosen to respond back to my review in a hostile way via the comments section below. I do not appreciate his decision to disclose personal details about his customers (number of times visiting your salon, etc) or suggesting I am being dishonest simply because his salon got a poor review. I hope to discontinue communications at this time but stand by my suggestion to future customers that this salon (and manager) is unsatisfactory and unprofessional. --- " I called VIP multiple times within 24-48 hours of my spray tan and spoke to a male staff member who repeatedly said that he could do nothing about the fact that I was striped like a zebra. I asked if it would be possible for me to come in and show him, to touch it up, or spray again and get a credit after the fact since I did not want to go to school that way and was unavailable to come in when management was available (due to working and being in grad school) and he refused. Similarly, I was told that the color might "keep developing" and to just wait it out. This was not the case and I was forced to scrub and exfoliate until I was bright red that night. Oh Yelp - you are so intriguing. In my hunt to find a new tanning salon, I stumbled across "VIP Tanning". I decided to look at the reviews to decide if it was a place I wanted to try out for a spray tan. Color me surprised when the first thing my eye sees is a straight up social network war between patron and owner. I felt like I was reading a high schooler's FB page... I have no idea which one of you is telling the truth. I see a girl with zebra stripes and ask myself - why would she post a picture of a bad tan if she didn't get it at your store? It just doesn't make sense. Regardless of the good reviews, I crossed this place off my list, and it wasn't because of Ciara's review, rather the owner's response. Look dude, I'm sure you're cool. And judging by the positive reviews and length of years you have been in business, I'm sure that most of your customers are satisfied. However, no consumer, who has never been to your business, wants to be concerned that you will publicly post information regarding their account, schedule, etc. with your business. The fact that it kept going on and on, like every bad relationship I've ever been in, made me question the integrity of your business. Anyway - I'm here to let you know you lost a potential customer because your post. Perhaps next time a "thanks for the feedback" will suffice. They have the highest quality beds, their bulbs are changed regularly, and they have a wide variety of tanning lotion to best suit your skin type/needs. As for skincare, the products Emilia carries are phenomenal! She will take the time to go over your skin concerns, direct you to products that will make a difference, educate you on how the products work and recommend an easy-to-understand regimen. Beware of the membership. You have to remember your cancellation date or you are charged for another month. Not only that you have to cancel in person. Who has time for that! Wow. This is by far the best tanning salon I have ever been to in my life! The level 3 beds are the lowest and most "ordinary" and even those are nice, however, the high pressure bed reminds me of something from the future. It's a sheet of acrylic over all dark blue/purple lamps. Like nothing I've ever seen. My favorite is one step down from the high pressure bed. Every 2 min it mists your body with cool purified water and it is the first bed I've seen with lamps behind your head so that the bed doesn't miss the tops of your shoulders. When the bed kicks on I feel like I'm laying out on the beach. The best service, prices, beds, and overall experience I've ever had, hands down. read more

Used VIP for a month unlimited package before my wedding and honeymoon. Wasn't the cheapest option out there but that is because the quality of the beds is top notch and you definitely get what you pay for, so very worth the little extra you might pay. Easily could schedule appointments and always had enough beds so wait times were quick. The staff was helpful and knowledgable and the building/beds everything was very clean. Can't say enough good things about this place. The owner, John is the bomb and is really helpful when it comes to making decisions about what bed or lotion to use. Becca at the front desk is really sweet and fun to talk to if you have to wait for a bed (which is rare because they have a lot of beds). I was hesitant about posting this related to some of the owners previous responses to negative feedback, but I feel obligated because I would never want someone to have the same experience I did. I was in for a spray tan over the weekend, the machine ran fine but the actual spray tan mist seemed to be broken. After letting the front desk know, we went into the room together and re-ran the machine so she could see what I was talking about. The same thing happened, no spray tan, everything else . She made a small adjustment and had me try the machine for a second time on my own, which unfortunately did not work again. I'm now 45 minutes into the visit (which should've been closer to 15), not to mention the 45 minute round trip drive so I'm a little annoyed but being patient. The person at the desk refunds my visit, and says she feels really bad but leaves it at that. I asked if they would compensate me for my time with a free visit, honestly because that would have been appropriate and I expected some sort of customer service after the time I had spent there with no actual spray tan. She called the owner who wanted to speak to me over the phone (which was immediately uncomfortable). He said it wasn't his fault the machine broke, he didn't make the machinery and that he would have to call tech support. I was told that my visit was already refunded (the one I paid for but was not delivered) and that he didn't know what else I expected. He proceeded to tell me that he thought it was distasteful to ask for a free visit, and I responded by telling him I thought it was distasteful not to offer, that my time is valuable, that I absolutely thought it was his problem that his equipment didn't work, being that he owned the place, and that he was rude. He told me he didn't want to argue, which I agreed with, and that ended the conversation. Needless to say, I left angry. It did not end there. The front desk person called me back to tell me she had tested out the versaspa two more times and that both worked. I asked her if she remembered when we checked the machine together and it did NOT work, and she said she did. So I asked why she was calling me again, she said she wanted to ask if I had used the machine correctly..... which means, did I figure out how to push a button and let a machine spray me. I was offended and confused, why the need to call me again and ask me something so ridiculous. She said she was (finally) going to grant me the free visit but "never mind". So overall more of my time was wasted AND the stupid free visit (which really wasn't worth any of this), was given to me and then taken away out of spite. Customer service is important to me. I can't even believe a business owner could conduct himself in such a way. I hope I don't receive a response to this (which I likely will), I simply "don't want to argue". I'm out the $40+ for the spray tan, ill never go back and I truly don't want to encounter this person ever again. ADDENDUM: I have not received a refund. I LOVE this place! The only thing that would make this place better for me is if it was closer to my house. I love all the equipment, the tanning prices are amazing and cannot be beat. Went in to tan a month before a vacation. Decided to get the best package to do as little damage to skin as possible. ( usually don't go tanning ) Bought the $88 matrix bed month package and a $60 of bottle lotion that they claimed was half off and originally $120. Checked online and it was $55. Went a few times without any problems Around the 5th time went in at 9:30pm (closes at 10 ) Set up matrix stand up for 9 minutes, applied lotion and got into bed Half way thru the bed magically shuts off (9:40pm) Went out to tell female employee what happened and somehow she already knew and asked "did the bed shut off on you?" "Sorry it's been doing it all day, I think it's because we're about to close" I kid you not that's exactly what she said So I asked her if she shut it off on me and she said "No sorry we can make it up to you tomorrow have a nice night." So instead of getting mad at an 18 year old girl for something she may or may not have caused I just said ok and walked out then called the owner John in the morning John wouldn't take any responsibility for what happened and proceeded to tell me I was wrong and nothing was wrong with the bed. While bragging about how much it costs and how new it was. All he could said was, "I wasn't there so I don't know what happened" & offered to give me an 'extra day' on my tanning package.. lmao I argued with him back and fourth and told him no thanks I don't want anything from you just letting you know that your business is unprofessional I know this guy is a hothead and will leave a lengthy response trying to justify why the customer is always wrong and he the owner is right or trying to say that this has never happened in the 20 years he has been there.
