He'll get it back to you... just file early :-) I don't like paying other people to do my taxes but I like to save my sanity and have peace of mind. I require a bunch of forms so going to H&R Block wouldn't be a great idea because they can't handle more than a simple tax filing well. They are also expensive and Thomas isn't much more. He's also way more experienced. I'll be going back next year.

This past year, I was charged $650 total to complete my return. When I called to inquire about the significant increase, Randy Friedman could only account for $150 and admitted to mistakenly charging me more. The invoice she provided me had no itemizations to show the breakdown of her charges, something I would expect from an accountant. In addition, when I called to discuss the matter, she literally talked over me and wouldn't let me finish a sentence. Needless to say, I am less than pleased with this accountant's unprofessionalism and poor customer service. I would not recommend their service.

However, we are currently in the middle of a divorce and I contacted the office to get a copy of the taxes we filed jointly from 2019. Cindy in the office treated me with extreme disrespect. I explained my situation to her and the urgency with which I needed to pick up a copy. I didn't think this was an obscene request. I was met with zero compassion, zero empathy, and zero helpfulness. I also didn't realize getting a copy of my own taxes should be so difficult. Apparently this business uses the sound of your voice to identify who you are. I assured her I could come to the office and pick up the taxes with my license and Security Social Security Card. She also hung up on me twice and didn't answer the phone when I called back. Needless to say I had to contact my estranged soon-to-be ex-husband to get the information I needed. If this is how Sheldon Brothers treats their clients, they should not be in business. I am a single mother going through a very difficult time and this was just one more hurdle getting in the way of myself and my young daughters future. Obviously, I will not be filing taxes with Sheldon Brothers in the future, and I'd advice you to think twice before giving your personal, confidential information to a company that lacks professionalism and discretion.
