Also we did have connectivity issues when using our Chromebook but when we switched to our Apple computer we didn't have any issues.

He's very patient, friendly & knowledgeable.  After providing my daughter with a wet suit & surfboard, Jacob started the lesson on the beach by going over proper mechanics & safety.  After 10 mins on the beach, into the water they went. My daughter is a beginner surfer, with no prior surf experience.  Jacob developed an instant rapport with her that made her feel confident in the water.  Watching the entire lesson, I could see Jacob has a ton of teaching experience. His teacher modeling strategy is to demonstrate surf techniques that a student then attempts to mirror & repeat.   His communication skills are so engaging & effective that our class started at 11:15, and by noon, my daughter was standing on a surfboard for the first time, catching waves!   She was absolutely over the moon with the experience :) For 100% transparency, I'm not affiliated with this company & wasn't paid or received any discounts for this review.  My daughter had zero surf experience before the class, and we're both overjoyed with the quality of instruction & that she learned to surf so quickly in a safe environment.

The instructor's (Christian, Jacob) and a few others (Dan, Joe) were amazing. The thing that impressed me most is their attention to safety. The ocean can be dangerous and this team made sure everyone was safe. For me it was truly a spiritual experience. I love the ocean and these guys helped me get back to doing something I loved to do. However since the new director came on board Miss Roxanne in August 2016 there have been a lot of unfortunate changes . This school has low supervision , children use the restroom by themselves , kids are always getting hurt , the cracks in the cement bike area are so deep and dangerous. Their toys are old and dirty and the place itself is dingy and needs to be updated. This includes carpets, paint , toys, security system door entrance pad (completely worn out, teachers (some teachers there are so old school and have no idea about child development and need to go back to school and get educated and updated on current child development practices including whole child curriculum and child led activities . The turn over rate is very high, lunches are over priced , cots need to be updated they still use the old metal kind that sag in the middle and they wash all the sheets together which are extremely old , tattered and out of shape. There is only one teacher there that seems to really care about the children her name is Rebecca. All the other teachers sit on their butts and just watch the children by yelling at them not interacting with them. They've been written up several times for improper hand washing , yelling at children and other violations . Teacher are often sitting and telling directives at children from a distance not interacting . Only one teacher seems genuinely involved with the children and she only works from 11-6 so I feel sorry for all the kids who have to be there before she gets there. Roxanne the new director is so inflexible , paranoid , judgemental , high strung and manipulative . Everyone misses Annalise the previous director that is why so many parents have pulled their children out and enrollment is very low. This school over charges for the low quality of care they offer. Staff needs to go back to school and get some child development units under their belt. Good teachers have been hired and then let go because the old school way of doing things drives them away once they realize JCP will never progress and does not put the children's safety or welfare first. No, it needs some TLC but I know my son is loved and cared for by the Joy staff. The preschool is definitely going through some growing pains during this year of transition. The recent findings by licensing were concerning but were dealt with swiftly and appropriately. I believe the preschool is going in the right direction under the new leadership. You can't make an omelette without breaking some eggs. The most recent teacher hires are answers to prayer. My son has one of the new teachers and he is already showing improvement in his writing skills and is growing in his knowledge of the Lord. Thank you Teacher Mary! To Ms. Roxanne, Ms. Becca, Ms. Mary, Ms. Espy, and new staff there, keep persevering! Change is very hard but worthwhile. I know God is doing something new at Joy and He knows your hearts.
