I recently joined a large group of colleagues for an end of the year celebration and we talked to the owner ahead of time to setup the event. We put in a request for a specific bar tender to facilitate the event as we have previously had several rude and dissatisfying encounters with a certain bartender who claims to be the bar manager and we wanted to avoid a bad experience. We initially considered going somewhere else to avoid this bartender but ultimately decided to give Sugar field another chance as we have held events here in the past and the owner is usually very accommodating, but that was a mistake. The bar manager worked our event and was extremely rude. She dressed provocatively as she typically does. She even wears open toe sandals and shorts with her butt hanging out. She made several drink wrong and was argumentative when asking her to remake the drinks. She stated, "how can they be wrong if I'm the only one who creates drinks here." She over charged my coworkers, she made ugly faces at us, and had a very unpleasant attitude the entire time. I even heard her tell a customer, "shut the fuck up" unwarranted and unprovoked. This is something I have witnessed during other visits along with bad mouthing other frequent customers and employees including the owners. Sadly, she seems to be there all the time now. The quality of experience has dwindled and is not worth the cost.

There are two buildings - one for spirits and the other for wine/mead and beer. Staff is super friendly and helpful at each stop, and they are always willing to talk about their products as well as other important topics related to the making and distribution of their products. They also tend to know just what sort of drink would make you the happiest, and they are happy to alter whatever you want to make it more flavorful. Great service, great product, and great customers to enjoy a chat with. Sugarfield keeps me coming back for more.

The building reminded me more of what I would encounter in northern Sonoma, to the west of Healdsburg, or further south in the Paso Robles region. The tasting room is a decent size, although as I was the only visitor at the time, it seemed quite large. Quite a different experience from trying to enter on a Saturday night of a Jazz'n in the Vines concert. There is a patio terrace next to the building which overlooks the vineyard. Since it was a blazing hot June afternoon, I stayed inside rather than sit on the patio. There were seven wines to taste for a modest $5 fee. Four were from sourced grapes (California), two were American/French hybrids grown on the estate and the final was from a native American cultivar, also grown on the estate. All vintages were between 2005 & 2007, except for the recently released Syrah/Cabernet blend which is a 2009. I liked the Roux Saint Louis (a white wine based on the Blanc du Bois grape) as a nice summer wine. The Rouge Militaire is based on the American Cynthiana/Norton (a native red grape). It's a heavier red wine, and still needs a little time to open up. John Seago, the winemaker is often behind the bar, in the tasting room, but was out working the fields on this trip.

There was ample room on the lawn for everyone to have their picnic set up and still have enough room to move around. A food truck was on site for quick bites and of course there was wine available. I asked for something light white and not sweet and was told to try Le Trolley. This wine did not disappoint. It tasted like Sauvignon Blanc and I was pleased to learn that it is one of the wines made from the locally grown grapes. I am looking forward to returning child free so my husband and I can do a tasting and enjoy the scenery.

I can picture this venue 5 years from now being booked all weekend, every weekend of the year. Our wedding was on October 15, 2022 and we booked the venue in September of the previous year. We toured 6 different venues across New Orleans and the Northshore for our big day. We fell in love with Milićević Farm & Vineyard Venue for so many reasons I can't even count. Most importantly, not a single thing went "wrong" on our wedding day (like everyone was telling us to prepare for). The owners of the venue and coordinators are all so hands on and detail oriented through the whole process. We could tell they truly did care about making sure our day was perfect! Kim and Ivan have created a beautiful, perfectly thought out, one of a kind venue - I would easily say this is the most beautiful wedding ceremony and venue space in Louisiana! Taylor, the Sales Director, was also one of our Day of Coordinators, has now become a friend though the whole process. She is so thoughtful, kind and really makes sure everything goes to plan! The bustle on my dress came undone a few times during the reception (due to how heavy the satin fabric was on my dress), and Taylor was at my side making sure it stayed secured! Laurie was a huge help and also made sure our day was perfect. The bartenders and other day of staff were great. The venue is spacious, so aesthetically pleasing you hardly need any additional decor, and really has every detail you could possibly want. There are multiple options for your ceremony (both inside and outside). The food was amazing and they hosted a beautiful food tasting event prior to our wedding. What makes them different than the other venues we toured and received quotes from? The hospitality, you're able to rent the bridal and groom suite for the entire day, on site bridal and grooms suite with lunch provided, massive wedding guest bathrooms (no lines), two bar locations (also no lines), ability to set up for the reception/ceremony the day before (if there's no wedding), sparkler exit (most venues don't allow), month of wedding coordinator, plenty of onsite parking, rentals and tons of add-on options... I can go on and on. As far as pricing, you pay for what you get! This is a world class facility with phenomenal service and amenities. It's worth it and we couldn't change anything about our day! We received quotes from 10+ wedding venues in South Louisiana and these prices are fair and competitive with similar venues. Our only concern when planning was the distance of the venue from the Covington Hotels. On the wedding day everything was smooth. We had a hotel block at the Courtyard Marriott in Covington and had a shuttle after the wedding for the bridal party and guests to take back. Highly recommend. Low cost and worth no one having to drive 20 minutes back to Covington post wedding. If you're considering, please go tour! THANK YOU MFV for hosting our perfect day!

But I'm here on Yelp and figured it was time! I can't even BEGIN to tell you how AMAZING Tree is. I called Racontours because the reviews were outstanding on TripAdvisor. Not just good, but outstanding. Not even one complaint, that I could find. Instantly upon talking to Tree, I knew I'd made the right choice. I had a group of 20-30, ranging from my 8 year old daughter to older grandparents, and knew we needed something that would both entertain all ages, and not be too strenuous, etc. My husband and I were looking for a walking tour of the quarter, with a mix of history, voodoo and hauntings for the night before our wedding (instead of a rehearsal). Right up front, Tree told me something I will never forget, and something that as a lover of all things paranormal, I respected immensely. (Now, forgive me for not remembering his exact words ...) He said he didn't really do haunted history tours. That he respected the haunted history of his beloved city too much to possibly tell a story incorrectly or not do the haunted history justice. Wow. I was really impressed by that. Especially in a city where so many of the haunted history tour guides can come across almost comical. Needless to say, Tree had my respect immediately. We began working out the details and Tree was 100% accommodating and patient as I gathered details, made travel plans (most of us were coming from California), tried to obtain head counts, scraped payments together, etc. And remember, we're talking about 20+ people - none of whom were from NOLA. Anyway, to begin the tour, Tree met all of us at Pat O's (another place I was truly impressed with service wise). He and his assistant painted the kids' faces while the rest of us finished our cocktails and dinner. He brought fantastic goodie bags for the kids with some of the items NOLA is famous for. The fact that he went out of the way to include the two kiddos that were with us, was way above and beyond what he had to do as a tour host, and something I truly appreciated. I won't get into too many details about the tour, but let's just say it was FANTASTIC. From the voodoo history and knowledge Tree shared with us, to the personalized lover's candles my husband and I lit at the last stop, to the ridiculously amazing cocktails we had at a few locations ... and all of it meshing together, combining with Tree's awesome personality and head full of so much knowledge ... I can't even successfully put into words how perfect the entire experience was. Tree made this aspect of our wedding trip something that people are still talking about a year later. And I am so thrilled to still keep in contact with Tree to this day. I can't wait to get back to NOLA and connect with him again. Though this next time, I'll be sure to do the Commander's Palace/Garden District tour. I can't wait for that opportunity! All in all, I'd give Tree and Racontours WAY more than 5 stars, but that's all I'm allowed to give. So just know there's a bunch of invisible stars floating behind the five you see here.

The ship itself is not the biggest I've been on but it is quite antiquated and that alone is a downside for me. Considering that I've become accustomed to the nicer and more luxurious ships, this one definitely failed to deliver. The service of course, was impeccable and the staff is by far very sweet and caring, considering the fact that they cater to everyone and are very efficient in their job duties, some though have to be taught manners but not enough of them could make my review less than. Although for the most part I did enjoy the cruise, I don't think I can come back due to its antiquated look. I like to be in updated surroundings when it comes to vacation. But of course this was not the worst of the worst. For the price it really wasn't bad of course, so go ahead and try them out.

And I say this having been on 2 other cruises, so I'm not a total newbie! The food was great; significantly better than my other two experiences and the formal dining meals were excellent. Plus, you can order more than one entree, so if you don't like your food, get something else! I think the cruise was pretty full, but it sure didn't feel that way. It was not overly crowded, and there was a wide variety of travelers on board. We made friends with some other couples our age, so it wasn't a total retiree fest (cough... take note Holland America!). Not hating on our seniors, we made some friends with them too, but it's nice to have a variety of people is all. :) There weren't too many kids either, so it was a win win all around. And if they were a bit crazy and we needed a break, they offer a Serenity Deck for adults only on the back of the ship! Two hot tubs and peace and quiet? Yes and yes. We stopped in Cozumel and Progresso, Mexico and had a lovely time there as well. I HIGHLY recommend the salsa & salsa excursion, (make salsa and dance salsa) and our 5 day long vacation was the perfect amount of time. Plus, if you have a couple extra days, stay in New Orleans and see the sights! It leaves right outside the city in the port of New Orleans. Overall, great experience, and I would highly recommend you try it out!
