Loved this experience! Came here for my anniversary with my husband! The gondola is from Italy and felt like it! So big and beautiful! Our guide was incredible, so informed and just kind, wasn't overbearing or awkward as some guides can be in close quarters. Played Italian music throughout our gondola ride which was a beautiful touch. The views of the sculpture garden and NOMA as well as just city park itself was so nice! Stealing kisses under the bridges, a tradition our guide let us know of, and just enjoying the sunset was so romantic. It was an Italian dream in city park and we were so pleased with our experience!

As a local, this is a great way to rediscover city park. Robert does a get job setting the tone for a relaxed cruise on the gondola.

The most amazing experience in New Orleans! The gondola was absolutely beautiful, felt like I was back in Venice, Italy. Robert was truly amazing, we were late so he patiently waited, was helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and experienced. We were able to bring our own drinks aboard, he provided novelty glasses and provided some history of the area, and we played our own rnb soul music on a Bluetooth speaker. We got to write our names on the bridge and take great pictures! Thanks Robert for making our day special.

Nola Gondola was the absolute best way for my wife and I to celebrate our love this Valentines weekend! Our gondolier was professional, friendly, and so kind. He offered us glasses for our drinks, a blanket, and kindly helped us navigate into the boat, which is beautifully named Bella Mae! Sunset was perfect especially with the lit up swan paddle boats during the first part of the ride. We would absolutely come back and do this again! Don't forget to kiss under the bridges!

Believe the reviews here, this was amazing! Well worth the money! Robert was fantastic and a joy to talk to. So scenic and the gondola was comfortable. The music playing and cheese and crackers were very nice. We brought a bottle of wine and he had an ice bucket waiting for us. Would live to come next time for the christmas lights!! Thank for the experience Robert!

We saw swans, ducks, turtles and a few different birds during our ride.

Romantic and scenic gondola ride through the waterways of City Park. Seeing the park's buildings, bridges and greenways from the water provides an advantageous viewpoint. As much as we desired to sit back and soak it all in for the memories and enjoy being together, we did take a few pictures. We couldn't resist. Robert provided an excellent experience from beginning to end. There was cheese and crackers for us to nibble and he provided an umbrella for sun shade. He will provide wine glasses and a corkscrew if you bring a bottle of champagne or prosecco. His choice of music was perfect. Hearing Andrea Bocelli's voice swell over the water in this setting was magical. Advance reservations are required. The online reservation system is quick and easy. Tip: Try to make a reservation during a cooler period of the day. Final Assessment: Robert is friendly and professional. The gondola ride was fun, romantic and will be a great memory from our vacation for years to come. 5 Stars

MUST DO! Make reservations early to grab that sunset cruise! We weren't able to get the late one but we were able to get the next to last of the day which was completely fine. Come out early to walk around the Sculpture Gardens or even take a tour of the New Orleans Art Museum. Make sure to stop and enjoy Morning Call Coffee Stand (Café au Lait & Beignets) as well. There is just so much to do around City Park so enjoy some time there if you can. Robert had a dream of being a Gondolier... and with his passion and perseverance, he made his dream come true! I loved listening to his stories of how and why he landed here in New Orleans, and how he had to sink his boat twice to save it! He almost left NOLA after Katrina but I am glad to see that he ended up staying. This really is a perfect fit. Robert isn't a singer so has some low volume Italian music for our listening pleasure. He provides a bucket of ice for our (BYOB) beverages as well as a small plate of crackers and cheese for a little munchie action. New Orleans and Venice are my two favorite cities in the world. Both are truly unique and both celebrate Carnival. Experiencing NOLA Gondola just brought my two city loves together. Riding a Gondola in Venice is on my bucket list. I have visited Venice twice, in 1980 with my mother who said "it is too expensive" then again in 1985 and I told friends that I was traveling with that I didn't care how expensive it was, I was buying if they couldn't afford it, I wanted to go. Well it rained the whole three days that we were there. All we could do was ride the ferry while singing "Like a Virgin" which was a popular song at the time by Madonna. I've been to Vegas and refused to ride the Gondola at Venetian hotel as it looked like a cheap tourist trap. Although after doing research on Gondolas while working at Travelocity, I found an amazing place to grab a ride... Providence, RI during Fire Water. I need to write a review on this one, it was impressive. A few years back while visiting NOLA, I noticed that there was a Gondola in town at City Park. I came by to check it out and found the boat docked. I took a pic and posted it. I thought if I ever had a chance, I'd like to experience this as it really is a beautiful area. Unfortunately for me, there was construction going on in the park and on the lake sooo it wasn't the best experience it could have been which is a little disappointing. The gondola wasn't in it's previous location on the big lake. We were sitting there waiting for our time when Robert called me asking where we were, so we were a little late having to walk over to where he was now located so we ended up being a few minutes late. There was also a hiccup with the lake pump which left the lake area low so we couldn't finish the whole cruise route as we hit bottom going under the last bridge going up a different canal. I would have liked a heads up with the information so I could have decided whether or not to keep our reservation but I also understand that he's trying to make a living and none of this is his fault... So I am still very happy that we did the gondola while we had the time and money since that is not always the case in our lives. To get to City Park, we purchased a RTA day pass to ride the street car and bus lines earlier in the day for $3 then headed to City Park via Canal street car all the way to the end of the line from the French Quarter. It took about 30 minutes... then we walked a bit to the dock, so be prepared when planning on arrival time if you chose our scenic route. Cost: 50 min $90 Experience: Priceless

TJ and AK - Nice ride in City park! Loved it!

Love this boat ride would most definitely do it again! Probably the next best thing we did next to seeing Hamilton at the Seanger Theater! Love NOLA the food and music are always fantastic!

I took my boyfriend on a gondola ride on his birthday and it definitely surpassed my expectations. Robert, owner and gondelier, was wonderful from start to finish. He provided cheese and crackers, wine glasses, and bottle opener. The gondola ride through City Park lasted about an hour and it ended up being more romantic than I expected! I live in New Orleans and have been to City Park many times, so I was surprised when we visited parts of the park I've never seen. He was also nice enough to take pictures of us on his DSLR and emailed me copies. :)

We had a gondola ride yesterday and it was absolutely fantastic. Robert was not only extremely friendly but added personalized touches to the ride to truly make it a once in a lifetime experience. Next time we come to New Orleans we're going to do this again! Great price and the most beautiful scenery in a part of the city many people don't even realize exists.

This seems to be a hidden gem of New Orleans. Beautiful park with swamp like environment all within an each streetcar ride of the city. Perfect for surprising loved ones but not really a tourist tour so make a reservation for just 2. Also make sure to bring your own wine and the gondolier will provide ice, music, and snacks. Having ridden a gondola in Venice (tho not in Vegas), I'd rate this ride as significantly more intimate as you wander through the wide channels of the park. Wanting to surprise her boyfriend, my friend and I planned out their gondola ride for our visit. We specifically booked for sunset and asked the gondolier the best places to photograph (I wanted to practice with my camera). FYI we had no problems booking a few weeks beforehand although another friend said they were booked up the 4 days he was actually in New Orleans. The gondolier was more than helpful in his replies to our questions and the occasion was perfect. I hid champagne in my bag and we took her boyfriend completely by surprise when we got to the park. Granted you have to have a little nerve to truly take up the romance of the occasion but the price is certainly less than a romantic dinner in the city and the experience more memorable.

    Roberto, the gondolier.

This is perhaps one of the best kept secrets in City Park. Romantic Italian music, moss-draped oak & cypress trees. ducks gracefully floating by, turtles sunning on logs, a glass of wine or champagne in-hand (BYOB-glasses, opener, ice, cheese & crackers provided), beautiful bridges & sculptures, park visitors & other boaters looking longingly at you as Roberto does all the work. Robert runs only one boat, an authentic Italian-built gondola, which seats four very comfortably, however he easily accommodated our party of five yesterday. If you're looking for a way to celebrate a special occasion or just simply see the park and sculpture garden in a most unique way, this is it!

Beautiful bridge... Watching someone gorgeous getting married.

Roberto and his gondola was absolutely amazing. His gondola is authentic from Italy. Great way to see all elements of the park from the waterside. We saw a lot of wildlife including turtles, geese, swans, pelicans, and other various birds. We didn't see the local crocodile or river rats. I was ok with that.

Robert took this photo of us! Thank you!!

From the moment we sat down, the staff set the tone--professional, genuinely friendly, and impressively efficient. We began with a trio of starters that showcased both richness and restraint. The foie gras torchon was silky and indulgent, perfectly complemented by fruit confiture and warm, toasted Bellegarde Bakery bread--a classic pairing done right. Marinated crab claws, dressed in a lively chili vinaigrette, delivered a bright, briny punch, while the pickled pineapple and jalapeño chips added just the right balance of sweetness and heat. A cucumber salad rounded out the starters, crisp and refreshing, acting as a welcome palate reset before the mains. For entrées, comfort and finesse shared the plate. The confit chicken thighs were meltingly tender, paired with ham-braised greens swimming in a tangy apple cider vinegar broth. A lovely Dijon cream tied everything together, adding richness without overwhelming the dish. Equally memorable was the half smoked duck, beautifully executed and deeply flavorful, served over a smooth pumpkin-sweet potato purée. The cherry bourbon glaze brought a subtle sweetness, while the pepitas added texture and a nutty finish. Dessert was the perfect exclamation point on an already wonderful meal: a slice of hot chocolate cheesecake, decadent and deeply chocolaty, crowned with toasted marshmallow fluff that leaned just enough into nostalgia without crossing into excess. Toups Meatery continues to deliver thoughtful, soulful cooking with polish and heart--comfort food elevated, served by a team that clearly knows what they're doing. A thoroughly satisfying experience from start to finish.
