It was bloodier than my usual medium-rare so I had it re-fired without a problem. I think they only used salt to season the meat but it was incredibly good and flavorful. Less is more. We were really surprised by how good the food was. What was even more surprising was the price. It's quite inexpensive. It was a happy chance incident.

I even asked the server about the €35 deposit and he said it would go towards the first round, not that it is the PRICE of a first round. A reservation is required and that reservation requires the first cocktail to be significantly more expensive that the menu price. The service and drinks were impeccable, it's a shame this really unclear and shady practice is what keeps me from giving a 5 star review.

Food is typical everyday Tuscan food and nothing that will earn them a Michelin Star, but it was good. Also, the place made me feel like I was eating in a neighborhood place where locals go - not true with other places I ate at in Florence. There were two owners - one cooked and tended bar, while the other waited tables and the waiter/owner spoke English. Overall, it was one of the most of my most memorable food experiences in Florence. Just make sure you go on a day when you can sit on the outdoor terrace. Inside, while sleek and sexy, just isn't quite the same experience. We recently had to sit inside because weather was not permitting. It was our only night left to visit Se-sto before heading out of town so we sadly missed out on the terrace experience and its sweeping spectacular views. Another mention of the exquisite service here. I was so impressed because everyone was nice and yes, it's a bit more buttoned-up but not in the slightest bit pretentious. Love that they'll come over to put a discreet hook on the table so that your bag is never on the back of the chair, or, heaven forbid, the floor. This will always be a must for me when I'm in Florence.
