I see a lot of concerts at Darien Lake Amphitheater (six just this summer...), and while the shows…read moreare always amazing and fun, the PARKING IS A NIGHTMARE. It's beyond me how they haven't sorted this out after all these years; it's basically HELL PERSONIFIED. With barely any attendants directing traffic, it's a complete free-for-all. If you can, have someone drop you off and pick you up at the front main gate of the theme park. Otherwise, you'll be stuck sitting in the parking lot for 2-3 hours trying to leave--it's truly miserable. Thankfully, we figured out that having someone pick us up speeds things up a bit, but if you're not as lucky, come prepared with food and drinks because you'll definitely get hangry. Speaking of which, the food and drink inside the venue are exorbitantly priced. The cheapest item is a pretzel for $7, and cheese adds an extra $3. Beer starts at $14. And these are the cheapest items. It's not worth it. Skip the venue's overpriced concessions, tailgate, and bring your own food and snacks. PS -- save yourself the $8 on a bottle of water--just bring your own clear, unopened, recycled bottle! They let each person bring 1 bottle in ;)

I needed to piss really bad during the show, so I let the security guard know that my phone was dead and asked if I could get back in. This sly motherfucker smirked at me and said "no." I told him that's fucking stupid, went to the bathroom, came right back to my seat and said "I'm BACK!" waving my hands at him. Security is pushy after the show as well, trying to pressure everyone to get out, and you will be told by multiple security guards that you need to leave as soon as possible. But it still takes 2 hours to get out of this place no matter what. So much for crowd control. A beer is 20 DOLLARS!!!!!!! Why don't you just steal my money and slap me across the face instead. Fuck this place, and fuck it's employees.

The birthday boy got to pick a friend and they go into one of those air tubes that blows certificates around and they try to grab as many as they can in allotted time. I think the pizza has gotten better since the last time I was there....more years than I care to count. You can bring in cake or cupcakes and everyone sings. The kids also got dipping dots and unlimited drinks. The kids all had a great time. A server is assigned to your table and they run the party, very well ran party. The place has expanded and is now so much bigger and brighter.

It took a very long time to get service at the counter to enter and there were multiple times when we had to wait. The adventure zone has a pretty steep surcharge, which I was not aware of. I tried to take my niece over to it and was told we had to purchase a wristband band to get in. I ended up getting her the $18 add-on because she had already seen the trampolines and slides. Still, I really think it should either be included or at least very obvious to new customers that the play area is an additional cost. It was also frustrating that there was a range of kid ages and sizes in the play area & no adults were allowed in. There were a couple of instances where I saw large older children either push or intimidate much smaller children. The area seemed very poorly monitored and I would probably try to keep my niece out of it next time we go unless she was desperate to go in. I was happy with the range of games and my little niece found a lot that she could play. There were games that were appropriate for all ages, including very young children. I really liked the wind tunnel with the classic Chuck E. Cheese balls. There was an instance where the mouse came out for a little dance with a birthday party and it was kind of weird that the mouse didn't make the rounds and interact with the children outside of the birthday party. Overall, my impression wasn't fantastic. There was even an armed guard walking around inside, which made me realize that it might not be such a safe place. I probably ended up spending about $100 that day on one child because we bought a three month family pass, some food, and the adventure zone. So, just watch out for it spiraling into a very expensive trip if you are going for the first time. The kids were having fun and that's the main thing that mattered. I think that having more safeguards in the adventure zone, removing hidden charges, and trying to make the experience amazing for all the kids should probably be the business focus. Seemed like it was a lot of money grab, but my niece walked out smiling so I'm fine with the day we had there.

My group bought the Toronto CityPASS® hoping for a smooth, enjoyable experience -- but it turned into one of the worst travel hassles I've had. We planned to use City Cruises Toronto, only to be turned away by the boat captain at the dock after initially being told we could board. There was no explanation -- just public embarrassment and wasted time. We spent extra money on Ubers to get to and from the cruise, only to be left stranded. I called CityPASS® customer service immediately, and their representative specifically advised us not to use the final attraction on our pass so we could request a refund. We did exactly what they told us to do in good faith. Despite this, CityPASS® only refunded $16.99 -- the portion for the cruise -- and refused to honor a refund for the unused ticket they explicitly told us to skip. So not only did we lose money, but our time and vacation plans were completely disrupted. Their refund policy clearly states unused tickets are fully refundable within 365 days, but apparently, they don't stand by this when it actually matters. Customer service was polite but ultimately unhelpful -- just copy-pasted responses with no real effort to resolve the issue fairly. I won't use CityPASS® again, and I'd caution other travelers to think twice -- especially if you want a company that will stand by its policies and treat customers respectfully when plans go wrong through no fault of your own.
