We booked a group event at the Pub for a post wedding event on Sunday, June 21st. With friends and family traveling from all across the country for our wedding on June 20th, this event was the bookend to an incredible weekend, an opportunity for our loved ones to spend additional time together and get a true taste of the Buffalo vibe. The Bisons Event team absolutely nailed it. The food was fantastic, the service was impeccable, and the venue space itself was perfect. From a planning perspective, the entire day was completely seamless. We didn't have to worry about a single detail, which allowed us to be fully present and cherish every moment with our guests. John was attentive, accommodating and so friendly. Jarrett took the time to come down and meet us and check in on how things were going. I was there on June 12th with my family I was in line getting beverages and I noticed a worker belittled by someone who I would believe is a supervisor and found it to be extremely unprofessional. I asked the worker if she was okay and I could tell she was about to tear up. I think it was extremely unprofessional and I hope someone sees this to tell that guy he needs better training on being a supervisor. read more

Honestly I was super excited to go to a spontaneous Bisons game tonight and left pretty disappointed (despite a great win). We showed up around the bottom of the 4th and got tickets at the box office (there was no line at that point). The person helping us wasn't the fastest worker but was nice enough to help us pick where we wanted to sit. I picked a spot with a lot of empty seats around us. I have anxiety in crowds and that was our plan to have space next to both of us. I asked the person at the box office which entrance to go to and they said any one bc they were all open. So we went to the Oak St entrance. Got there and security wouldn't let us in because it was closed (and had been closed for some time). I asked them to notify the box office w/ their radio because there were some people in line who were going to do the same thing. They replied "you can tell them on your way back." . We walked over to the Swan St entrance, walked in and found a concession stand by our section. We stood in line for an ENTIRE inning with only about 8 people in line in front of us when we got in line. We got to the front, ordered and waited for our food. After we got everything else, they told us they were out of pretzels and that we had to go to another stand. So we did. And they were out of pretzals too. So we went back and they comped us a burger instead, which was another 5 minute wait. Mind you - the signs they have up for food/beverage are not the correct prices and guest services said that it was because they "didn't order the new signage yet" (kinda thought this was illegal?). We were still in decent spirits though so we went to find out seats. We got to our seats and there were people in them. I let them know they were in our seats and they made a bunch of excuses and moved two spaces (sitting right next to me). They were clearly not supposed to be in our section and were extremely loud and constantly bumping into me. I couldn't focus and was pretty annoyed because we specifically picked seats that weren't next to anyone on purpose. But I didn't want to involve anyone at that point and make a scene. By the end of the 8th we ended up moving to the wall in the last row because I couldn't take it anymore. From the time we sat down in the 6th inning until the end of the game, I didn't see single beer/snack person in the stands. I waited for them that whole time because I didn't want to spend anymore time in line at that point. But it's possible that they stop at the 7th. All in all, the experience was pretty terrible. I get that we came in late but it shouldn't take two innings to buy a ticket, walk in and get a hotdog. The game itself was good and that helped a lot. But I wish they had their operations down better. It made me not want to go anymore and I used to love going to Bisons games. read more

I love coming here so much! I've only come to see the Bisons and once for the Savannah Bananas. I find the prices extremely fair and it's hard to find things to enjoy that don't cost an arm and a leg. Tuesdays are awesome because there's $2 hotdogs (at 2 concessions ... don't go to the small stands with hot dogs and beer as they are full price there). I sit in section 112 and one of the concessions is at that entrance. They also have wine slushees here which are excellent, but now right lethal! Drink with caution lol! They sneak up on you! Friday nights they have great fireworks that last about 15 minutes. There are many other promotional game options ... they are available per schedule and you can look them up! Parking is expensive IMO, so I like to use the park and ride myself! The metro rail will drop you off in an easy walking distance and take you back after the game ($4 round trip last I took it, versus $20 and up parking near the stadium). The stadium is very clean, simple to navigate, and we got to pick our seats! We sat in section 110 and it still was pretty close to the diamond so we would certainly go back. The game did get rained out during the second half but for the time we were there it was a great experience. The Buffalo Bisons hosted the Miracle Leagues of Western New York for two hours today. The kids had a blast hitting off a tee at home plate and fielding balls as well. Buster Bison came on the field and met with all kids. It was truly an awesome and memorable experience. Some of the Bisons players and Blue Jays were on the field to play ball with the kids. Came to see the Savanah Bananas. Great entertainment. But don't think you are coming to see a "true" baseball game..the setup though of selling 16,000 General admission seats was ridiculous. The first pitch was 715, doors opened up at 515, we got there at 4, and the lines were just crazy. There were no definitive lines, so people were just all over the places. Sahlen Field is normally home to the Buffalo Bisons Baseball but is currently the temporary home for the Toronto Blue Jays, due to Canadian covid restrictions. I got the opportunity to go to a Blue Jays/ Tampa Bay Ray's game. The Bison's organization did a good job transforming the stadium to be more like home for the Blue Jay's with replacing all signage. There were several changes needed to meet the requirements of MLB since this is normally a minor league ballpark. Bottom line, when the Blue Jay's are able to return to their home turf Buffalo will keep the updated stadium lighting and upgrades to the locker rooms, amongst other things. Sounds like a win win for everyone. Getting in was fairly quick and easy. This ballpark meets and exceeds the standards of most minor league facilities that I have visited throughout the country. Home to the Buffalo bisons, the stadium underwent a substantial renovation when the Toronto Blue Jays called this field their temporary home during the Covid epidemic. The bathroom facilities are well located and well-kept, food concession stands are regularly placed, and there really isn't a bad seat in the house. If only they had this 4 years ago, I could have taken my pump to the ballpark. Multitasking! Also, Toronto Blue Jay players who need to work on their hitting or pitching sometimes are demoted to Buffalo. So, good chance you will see some major league talent. Went on a recent Friday evening to watch them play the Pawtucket Red Sox and I got a single ticket right behind home plate for $16.50 tax included at the box office. It's actually cheaper to buy tickets before game day and at the box office. If you buy your tickets online, there are extra service fees. The stadium only holds 16,600 people so it isn't a big stadium but it's got a nice intimate feel and nearly all the seats are goods seats to watch the game with good sight lines and they recently revamped the seating to create more leg room for fans. Sahlen Field does a really good job of partnering with popular local food establishments so you aren't just eating hotdogs and nachos which isn't necessarily a bad thing. They had a Charlie the Butcher stand and a Ru's Pierogi stand and a few other local food establishments. I had a regular beef on weck sandwich from Charlie the Butcher ($8 tax included), if you are in Buffalo, nothing better than a good beef on weck sandwich. They also had a craft beer happy hour from 5 pm - 6:30 pm where beers were $3 and beers outside of happy hour were $7.25 for cans of Budweiser and Bud Light. Overall, Sahlen Field is a pretty good place to watch a minor league baseball game. Tickets are reasonably priced and the food and alcoholic beverages are priced pretty standard for a minor league baseball game. They do a good job of creating a fan friendly atmosphere. read more

A few years ago this was known as Cocaine Cola field but the Buffalo New York police and planners have done a decent job of cleaning things up downtown. A perfectly good baseball field in the very heart of Buffalo with beautiful views of the skyline. I've come in here for a couple of games and also for the wing Festival a few times. It's unspectacular it's also more than adequate for what it does. Went here for the first time this season, the first time this was Sahlen Field. The stadium grounds are very clean. Passing through security was quick and easy. Security staff was friendly and efficient. As usual, the concourse was exceptionally clean as was the seating area. The only reason I didn't give the stadium a 5 star rating was the concessions. I have no problem waiting in line but this was the worst I have ever encountered. Our seats were in section 116. The concession stand nearest our area was staffed by the slowest and rudest employees I have ever seen. First, half the registers were closed. Second, there were 2 managers on duty, both oblivious to the slowness of service. Lastly, the cashiers seemed to be trainees without direction. To get 2 orders of fries and 2 cokes took 21 minutes, or 2 full innings! I go to the ballpark a couple of times every year and always seem to have a good time. Whether you are there to catch a baseball game, a concert or some other sort of event Coca-Cola Field has a lot to offer from spring to summer when you just want to get out of the house! I have returned for this particular event for quite a few years and highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys Star Wars. Light sabres, costumed actors, a cheesy fanfiction film leading to a live conclusion and battle on the field? What more could any sci fi lover want. Even if you aren't a Star Wars fan, the Bison's do a great job of offering a wide variety of themed nights to appeal to children, adults, boys, girls, nerds and princesses alike. Even if you don't go to a ramped up theme night like Star Wars the games offer a variety of between inning events from trivia, to running the bases, to the mascot race to keep everyone entertained. The also have quite a variety of food options. They have all the traditional baseball game fare from burgers to hotdogs, to fries to pretzels, to popcorn to ice cream and so much more. They also have some fun dishes like pirogis, wings, pulled pork nachos, poutine and much more. I like to go for the unique things that I don't make at home so we got the pulled pork nachos and poutine which were both good. A new addition that I noticed this year that I loved were some sunscreen dispensers provided by Roswell Park. As many of their games are 1 PM and full of sun this is a great addition to help out anyone who comes unprepared. Nice baseball stadium, Bison games are affordable. It's great that they have the craft beer area. Good selection of different food vendors. Went last night to one of the suites with coworkers. The catered food was good tasting but cold. The beef for the beef on weck was still cold even after it had been in the serving tray over sterno for an hour. Hot dogs were on the cold side too even though they had been grilled and had char marks. For the price of the food in the suites they need to make sure food that should be hot is hot. read more

Generally enjoyable ballpark, but not my favorite of the accessible minor league parks within "day tripping"-distance (which I consider to be 4 hours/one way or less). I was back here just a couple days ago to watch the Bisons play the SWB RailRiders. After having been to Rochester (Frontier Field) just a couple nights before, going to Coca-Cola Field seemed like a bit of a step down. Don't get me wrong... Coca-Cola Field has enjoyable aspects. Parking around the stadium seems to be plentiful (though I paid extra for parking in a garage right across the street from the main entrance gate). There are also concessions placed around the stadium that provide standard ballgame fare, though there's also a stand or two that provide healthier alternatives. Personally, I enjoyed a loaded Italian sausage sandwich. It was decent... nothing I would clamor for again, but it fulfilled my craving. Perhaps the most entertaining aspect of watching a Bisons game is being able to watch the collection of mascots, all of whom seem to be having a great time providing entertainment during the game. That said, the team store could be more inviting, because it seems pretty cramped in there. Also, the stadium generally feels a bit dingier than some others I've been to recently. Decent legroom in the stands though. Overall, you win some/you lose some with this stadium. TL;DR Tickets are cheap, and there are few things better than having some time to visit a local ballpark during the season. I would probably pick visiting a couple other more accessible stadiums over Buffalo, but it's still fun to visit and see the Bisons play. read more

The food and beer prices are fair for stadium food, and there's a good variety to choose from. They have craft and domestic beer (usually run $6.75 depending on size), and food options include typical stadium food, as well as Buffalo-inspired options and a stand with healthy options too. Who doesn't love a ball game in the summer? I actually have never been to a Bisons game up until a fellow Yelper invited me on a double date with her husband to check one out. I had NO IDEA the fun I was missing (when it's a good game). Seriously, I missed have missed out on a good bit of my childhood since my parents are Russian and they never "took me out to the ball game." I've since been back on my own as a friend of mine wanted to celebrate her birthday by going to a ball game. It can get kind of chaotic in the lines coming in. Finding free parking isn't easy (we found some near CanalSide and walked 10 minutes). Tickets are only $10 and you can often times find them for free through various non-profits, Delta Sonic and other promotions going on. They have a $3 discount for seniors and veterans. Luckily, there's not a bad seat in the stadium. Food is iffy --- standard ball game food, but they did recently start selling craft beer which is nice. There is also "La Nova Pizza," which is cool, but they don't have any wings. Blue Cross & Blue Shield has a stand where they serve healthier food, such as veggie burgers, tuna sandwiches and etc. They never have a long line, but it's a nice touch for those that are seeking a healthy option. Don't miss out on the celery vs blue cheese vs buffalo wing races. Those are always a ton of fun. Tuesday night is "fan appreciation night" at the Bisons where they do giveaways (i.e. shoot T-shirts out of a cannon) after every inning and have a fireworks show at the end of the game.
