I didn't expect to be greeted quickly with the crowd, but I was. The cashier greeted me holding a till, and when I told her the brand I was looking for, she told me they didn't sell it. No computer checking, no confirmation with anyone else, no visible glance even. I told her I'd gotten it here before and she lied, saying she'd look, then walked down the wrong aisle. The other cashier she asked responded the exact same. When I asked her to check for the closest store that has it (because she didn't offer), she told me their system was down. No apology. I usually have very friendly experiences here, but today they weren't safe (very unsafe cash handling practices), and they weren't friendly or helpful at all.

They even have a rare finds section for those seeking more elusive bottles. The owners and workers were all very kind with some appearing more knowledgeable about the products than others. They offered great insight in helping navigate all of the options. As a person who is new to the wine world, I greatly appreciated how accessible the tasting event was and how the information provided about the available wines was simple enough for even a wine newbie like me to appreciate. One thing to consider is that while the building is fairly sized, the walkways can feel a bit tight due to the numerous shelves and wine containers. Which may make it slightly challenging to navigate when the store is crowded, especially for those who may need more space. They did offer a discount for the tasting event which was a nice touch. The shop is situated on a street with cute cafes. Free parking is provided in a lot in the back, as well as on the street. The store is not very large but it has a decent inventory of items. The staff have been friendly enough so far. I have not kept a close eye on it, but I don't know what bourbon allocations they have been getting. I hope to find out sometime. What a great decision! When you walk in, you immediately notice that all of the wines are beautifully displayed -- it doubles as a wine shop, which gives it such a warm and welcoming vibe. It feels cozy but elevated at the same time. They don't offer flights for groups larger than five, but we were able to order one dealer's choice flight based on our preferred flavor profiles. From there, we could select a bottle inspired by the flight. A few of us gravitated toward reds. Our waitress was incredibly knowledgeable -- we told her the flavor profiles we liked, and she brought out three reds to try. The Wade & Wayfarer Pinot Noir was our favorite (so good!), though a bit pricier. We also tried the Alkoorai Cab/Merlot blend, which ended up being our least favorite. Ultimately, we chose the Denner Nightshade GSM -- excellent pick. Bonus tip: if you purchase a bottle $50 or more, there's no corkage fee; under $50, there is. Our waitress also mentioned that South American Merlots are the best Merlots as we all mentioned Merlot tends to be more dry. Our friends ordered the Cacio e Pepe burrata, pickled shrimp, Caesar salad, mushroom and leek flatbread, and the Brie and pear flatbread (both flatbreads were huge!). They loved every dish. My husband and I shared the bread with olive oil (simple and delicious), the charred octopus (tender with amazing flavor), gnocchi Bolognese, and lamb chops. Everything was fantastic -- the only small note was that the lamb could've been a bit more rare -- but still very flavorful. By the end of the night, all six of us agreed we'd absolutely be back. We're even looking into their wine club -- $60/month for two bottles (pickup required at the shop), which honestly sounds like a great deal. Apparently, they change up their wine flights weekly, which makes it even more fun and gives us a reason to return. Such a great experience all around -- can't wait to go back and try more wines!
