Having had a bad experiences when the store first opened I haven't made many stops in the years…read moresince. The grocer is located in Haygood Shopping Center on Independence Boulevard. The space has had a number of occupants over the years. When we moved to Virginia Beach, it was an A&P. That gave water to a Farm Fresh. Both were long term grocers who eventually went out of business. The space was emptied for a while as Haygood Shopping Center underwent a massive face lift in anticipation of Harris Teeter. Having previously shopped at their store near Sam's Club on Virginia Beach Boulevard I anticipated the opening. But the reality brought a lack of customer service in the spacious store with wide aisles. For years I never considered shopping at Harris Teeter. Lately I've reevaluated that choice. I've found they have my favorite flavor of high protein yogurt. Their produce is fresh & full of flavor. A big plus is their distilled water in the type of container that's easy to maneuver. It's also priced right. Harris Teeter is definitely is a step above a number of the chain grocers in Coastal Virginia. But it's a step below others, lacking the prepared or ready to prepare entrees that make life so much easier. I'm happy I rediscovered Harris Teeter. It's nice to add another store to my shopping mix.

Parking is on both sides of the tiny building. The area was debris free. There is no awning for weather if your waiting for a special release. I was lucky enough to purchase a highly sought after allocated bourbon named Elmer T. Lee. It runs $40, but trades up to $300. Checkout was neutral, no friendly interaction with a line. I opened it later in the day and it's smooth and delicious. This is not a store I would return to unless they have a specific product I desired. It's not close to where I live and the area may be unsafe at night.

Shopping baskets and hand sanitizer are available for your convenience. Shelves are well stocked and service is efficient and friendly. Staff is knowledgeable of their products and able to answer questions you may have. There is plenty of parking in their private lot surrounding three sides of the building. Ingress and egress are easily accomplished in either direction of Liberty Street. I like shopping at this location because it is very conveniently located for me. It's near my home and I can get in and out quickly. The only real negative is the infamous SoNo railroad crossings are sometimes blocked with rail traffic which can mean lengthy delays unless you are familiar with alternate routes.

They have the most highest balance I ever seen when it comes to your Medicare utility and food card they only supposed to take out a percentage not half of what you buy I think it's highway robbery especially when you are senior they always have a high balance when you use your Medicare food card something is wrong with that picture.

The flooring is new and different layout too... I'm loving it! My only concern... while about eight check out lines were open on this particular day, there wasn't a line open for fewer items. It wasn't until after I stepped up to the cashier they decided to open up a fewer items line. Nevertheless, come in here! There's a parking lot that is shared with a host of other places due to the location being a shopping center. But parking should not present a problem at all. There is a pizza place or two located in the center alongside a Chinese Restaurant, Subway and others... Don't forget your MVP card. Also check the wine, they may have a section of "clearance" wines under $10. Have fun and enjoy life :)

It's an easy in & out of traffic, which makes the gasoline stop efficient if you're in a hurry. When the store first opened I absolutely loved that there was a TowneBank ATM inside the store. I used the ATM often until it was removed. Now I rarely go inside the market. The interior of the store is clean but the aisles are tightly spaced. So it felt cramped during the time I often frequented it. There is an adjacent Dunkin as a part of the building. I'm sure that's a draw for many & increases their volume of gasoline & market sales from those who like the one stop convenience. It's a draw for me if my Dunkin Iced Tea loving son is in town. Miller's Neighborhood Market is located on the west side of Independence Boulevard north of its intersection with Virginia Beach Boulevard & south of the Haygood shopping area. The market will continue to be an emergency stop for both gasoline and my son's Iced Tea.

The merchandisers were there replenishing and rotating their products. Mostly everyone was friendly except a manager who didn't speak at all. Maybe she wasn't a morning person, but out of everyone there, I expect the manager to be the friendliest. Anyway, I got my items and went to the first register I could. The cashier was nice & quickly rang me up for me to pay. I was in and out of there within 10 mins. Almost everyone had on a mask. I would go back for sure.
