I would have select 0 stars but it's not possible. On May 6th of this year I ordered a flower arrangement and teddy bear for my daughters first Mother's gift. My daughter lost her baby in child birth in January of this year and I wanted this to be a very special gift for her. I know for most women, a nicely arranged bouquet of flowers always brings a smile to our face. I felt that going with a local florist and ordering a "Premium" arrangement would ensure fresh, a well arranged, unboxed arrangement and be hand delivered. Most small local shops are up to the task. I found a local Virginia Beach florist and ordered from their website (https://virginiabeachfloristinc.com/). The premium was supposed to be the "highest quality flowers" and style. My daughter received the flowers on the 11th and sent me a photo. I was absolutely disgusted with the arrangement and quality of the flowers. To me, it is obvious that many of the flowers were not fresh and wilted. The arrangement looked nothing like the photo online, including the wrong vase (not even close) and there was an excessive amount of greenery, which I know is just filler and inexpensive. It looked as thou the staff at Virginia Beach Florist Inc. just ran up to the local Walmart, grabbed some flowers that sort of matched, threw in any old vase and then charged me $80. My husband bought me a bunch of flowers from Walmart that looked 5 times better. When I called to discuss the matter with the florist I spoke with Bill, who said he was the "Manager". Bill was very rude and condescending. Bill told me that it is posted all over the website that "flowers can change based on demand". I saw no such statements and regardless the arrangement should have at least consisted of something that closely resembles what is in the image on the website. This one did not. He cut me off when I tried to explain why I was disappointed and hung up on me. I would suggest you discuss with Bill the need for quality customer service and if he does not know how to deal with customers, perhaps he should not answer the phone. Not every flower purchase is for a happy occasion, actually many or not and sympathy should be considered. The only reason I didn't post a picture is because Yelp won't let me . read more

My parents are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary and I wanted to send my mom some flowers since I knew this celebration was not what she originally had planned. Much like every other major event, covid squashed this one too. I browsed all the major online flower delivery services but the bouquets looked "meh" at best. I grew up in Virginia Beach, so I was familiar with Virginia Beach Florist and figured I'd give them a call. I explained that I wanted something more wedding centerpiece or bridal bouquet rather than typical flower arrangement. I didn't have any specific flowers in mind, just something pretty in shades of white, peach and pink. WELL... The flowers just got delivered and my mom has called, FaceTimed, sent me multiple videos AND photos of the arrangement, and tagged me on two different forms of social media! Lol. I can say that without a doubt, Virginia Beach Florist hit it out of the park. They absolutely nailed it! The bouquet is HUGE and the variety of flowers are beautiful. My mom says pictures don't do this flower arrangement justice--and she loves some flowers, so that is not an easy compliment to come by. I have done business with Hilltop Va Bch Florist before and was VERY happy....Not so much with PrincessAnne Va Bch Florist. Lady on the phone seemed "scattered" while taking my order. She asked what the occasion was and when I stated "sympathy" she said they had some nice lilies. I told her I don't like lilies. She asked if I wanted "pastels or bright and colorful" and I answered "Bright and colorful"...You guessed it! I ended up with a pastel arrangement with lilies, and she got the address wrong...Not a happy camper...The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because they did manage to finally deliver today, and the people who received it said that it was "nice". If it were possible to rate this any lower than one star, I would. I placed an order online to be delivered for a special occasion in the Newport News area. After the delivery never happened, I called the establishment only to be informed that they did not deliver tot that area and the order had been sent elsewhere. After speaking with the florist the allegedly sent the order to, I was put off again saying that they had nothing to do with it. It was now 2 weeks later and nothing had been done. I called again to see what the mis-communication and first the woman, who failed to identify herself, hung up the phone on me. I then called her back and was greeted with possibly the worst attitude ever. She then proceeded to "mhmmmm" me and rather than dealing with the issue in an appropriate manner and offering to compensate me for the time and money I had spent, she said that "she didn't know what to do." I then informed her that it would be ideal if she could either send out a nicer floral arrangement or simply refund my money. She very rudely told me that she "guessed she would just have to refund my money".
