She always gave me alternative moves to still help me become stronger without ever making me feel inadequate. Over the years, she helped me become strong, not just physically, but mentally as well. She teaches you how powerful your mind is and helped me navigate the waters of meditation. When something was difficult, she walked me through how to really listen to my body and know where my limits were. This isn't some institutional, corporate, cold program. You're gently eased in to the teaching process, and along the way, you get in-depth knowledge of the asanas (physical poses) and what yoga really means to your life. I didn't know what it would be like to study on the grounds of an ashram, but it was like being at a really peaceful hotel where everyone dresses very moderately. The devotees who live on the property are very kind and smile when they see you. The food that they prepare for our meals is amazingly good!! I love her 165 hours a week, HATE her 3 hours a week…read more True Story: I was having lunch with my friend Andres (owner of Fair Bean Coffee shop) at Whole Foods. I look over his shoulder and say, "dayyyyuuuummmm... there's a girl over there that could kick BOTH our asses." He looks over and says, "Sarah... come meet my friend Don." Turns out she's also the trainer for my real estate partner Wendi. And upon further discussion, I find out that she has won some sort of "Texas Trainer of the Year" award twice. I'd never had a trainer before but decided to give it a go. So she trained me last summer for just a few weeks before she got hired at USC (yes THE USC) to be the trainer for their football team. She's legit good. She moved back to Austin this year and we just started training again. If you need a trainer (and don't want a sissy who will go easy on you), then go nowhere else but Sarah. She does one-on-ones and classes/group "boot camp" type things (which cost a lot less). And she's really a nice person (just not 3 hours a week). And don't judge... I know I'm not in shape but we JUST started training again. Plus if you hate on me, I'll come kick all y'all's asses once I finish her "Fit Divas" class (yes, that's what it's called and yes, I'm the only dude in there). If you see me, don't call me Don. An hour session can take place anywhere - I like going to Pease Park, but she'll come to your home or office, too. I don't have to tell you that great exercise leads to a better quality of life/sleep/sex, etc., but I have learned so much about my own body in four sessions with Sandy. My chronic back pain is almost gone due to a few postural changes she suggested (after a full analysis at the beginning of the first session). I'm really picky about body and fitness professionals and Sandy does not waste my time. Sandy doesn't have a website, so give her a call if you're tired of running on a treadmill... or tired of running at all... or tired of reading this review.
