I also like the layout and the overall vibe. That said, for a Gold's Gym, I expected a little more. It can get pretty crowded, and some of the equipment can be hard to get on during peak hours. Nothing bad about the gym at all, it's a perfectly good place to work out. I just don't think it lives up to the hype compared to some of the other gyms in Austin. Overall, decent gym, just nothing that blew me away.

This gym is super spacious, modern with state of the art equipment. In addition, the gym has a posing room (yep! posing room!), hydro massage and sauna services. There is something for every discerning gym member. I went for a total body workout early this morning. While the time was early morning, the gym was in high gear with a fully packed gym...not an original idea. It was not long waits for the equipment....so, the selection of equipment is good. My goal was to do 3 set of 15-20 reps. Goal accomplished...in addition, it is centrally located with easy access from Burnet Road. With standard Gold's Gym membership, you can access to this gym with no extra cost. Monthly membership is $29-$49 dependent on access level and premium amenities.

What a great experience so far. Requested information via the Yelp projects and John from Austin…read moreSimply Fit reached out promptly. Scheduled a call to review my needs and was able to get into Eric's schedule for a Friday assessment. The gym is quaint and quiet, I've driven by a million times. The parking is a bit odd, a few spots up front where you have to reverse onto S Lamar when exiting...sooo that can be a challenge. They have parking in the rear of the building which is great however there is a single entry way and well, not sure how multiple cars could park and get out. Just know your reverse skills need to be on point. The gym inside has everything you'd need and since it's not open to the public it's just the clients and trainers. That means no waiting for machines and no one looking at you while you're there. Eric is great, he's very easy to talk to and made the whole experience easy. Upon arrival we walked through the questionnaire filled out online to find out the why behind the personal training inquiry. He then did a body scan for weight and fat %, took blood pressure three times as well. Gave a quick tour of the gym and how things work then it was onto the physical movement assessment. Nothing too crazy, range of motion and flexibility tasks. Took an hour for the initial visit and came back the next day to finish a few small exercises then learn the warm up needed prior to sessions. No membership needed as you buy the session in backs, 5, 10, 20 and can be used how you want. Like that there's no long term contract to sign. Session will start in the next week or so with focus on building/repairing the base/functional imbalances before getting into the fun part. Time will tell how this goes, wish me luck!

Mind you that I had been in physical therapy for 9 months prior to TrainLifeFit seeing me--the pt had helped but pain relief and correct posture only lasted 2 hours after each session. I was pleasantly shocked at the relief Sumair provided, corrected my posture by releasing muscles that were constricted and he explained to me that my weak lats were a big source of my issues. Going into my second session, I'm feeling confident that my correct posture will return and my pain vanished, hoping to avoid surgery.

I've been training with Sumair for almost a year, so buckle in, this is a long, thorough review!…read more Before I came to see Sumair, I had struggled for years with back and hip issues. I had an extreme lack of mobility, and my pain was at about a 7 or 8 every day. I was limping around at age 36 like a much older person. At that point I had tried everything - tons of physical therapy, 4 different trainers, chiropractors, massage...nothing worked. When I began with Sumair, I couldn't do much of anything. I mean, I had zero range of motion and very little strength. If you're feeling self conscious or scared, please don't let that stop you, we have all been there, and I would argue that is where TrainLifeFit really shines. Sumair has built TLF to be a holistic program. What makes it so great is that it is a body/mind/emotions program. What does it matter if you can do a proper push up if your mind has been programmed to believe that you CAN'T do things because you "just don't have the body for it"? Because I am petite and small, that's what I had been told. I'd also been told that my pain was just my "new normal," and to get used to it, so Sumair also had to help me overcome my sad sad sad mental programming about my body. He also taught me about mechanics and how to recognize what was going on with my body. That understanding was reinforced through the homework he gave me, so now I have the ability to identify what's happening and work through it on my own. That's important for the other days when I'm not training with him, and I cannot overstate how much it improved my relationship with my body. I now understand it and know what it needs. So my result is, less than a year later, my pain is at about a 1. I have gained significant strength, stability and muscle mass. My winter coat didn't fit this year because my arms and back had gotten bigger! My mobility is excellent and I have recently begun to run again, an activity I had been told wasn't available for me anymore. But most importantly, I trust my body. I know it is capable of much more than I had been told. I understand it, I have a vocabulary to describe what is happening with it, and I no longer treat it like an annoying employee by getting frustrated when it doesn't do what I say. So you can train anywhere. But if you want a transformation, I recommend TrainLifeFit.

Review of Early Childhood Program (ECP):…read more We have been members at JCC since 2017 because of ECP. We have had our three children attend the program and have loved being a part of the ECP family. When our first son was in the "3's" year, they offered to put him in a class with older 3's and give them a pre-k curriculum and he had a huge advantage when starting official pre-k at our local public school. Our youngest started even earlier and lived through Covid during his 3s and Pre-K year. We chose to keep him at ECP Pre-K rather than public school because they handled Covid so wonderfully. Because of this, we felt even safer sending our third child there as a baby! I cannot say enough good things about the staff, teachers, and administrators. We saw a change in directors after a couple years and Shereen is such a kind, gentle, patient, and loving director. I see this flow from her through the rest of the staff. She knows every child's name, shows care and concern for all the families, and seems to be awake at all hours to answer questions and give information to the families! I was always shocked at the information she would share to us during Covid at all hours of the night and then be at school bright and early greeting each kid. She seemed to have such ease at being flexible and focusing on the kids and this was clearly modeled and copied by the staff. The teachers we have had have truly been amazing. Our kids are kind because of how they were treated every day at the ECP. They are given wonderful structure while also given the space to make their own decisions and find their own way. The staff is made up of an array of fantastic individuals - some Jewish and some not - and they love the kids fiercely. We watched as our kids learned to perform in front of an audience, memorize prayers in Hebrew, learn the kindness of good deeds and giving, learn to write their name, count in various languages, express their feelings, and become individuals. They also understand developmental stages and helped with napping, toileting, feeding themselves, and learning age appropriate skills. The variety in staff meant that our kids were exposed to different ideas and cultures. I love that one year my son was learning a lot of the Jewish culture and also learning to speak Spanish. My daughter learned to ask for personal "space" when she was 2! They have a great structure during the school year and then incorporate more outdoor play in the summer. Our kids were able to have water play and swim lessons in the summer. ECP coordinated with other programs to expand the kids' activities. And though ECP is a year long program, the littles begin to see how things can be different in the summer. It was also nice to see that the teachers got a break! As each of my kids have grown, they love going back to see their former teachers and be praised and give hugs. As I walk through the school at the end or start of a day with my daughter, I am shocked at how EVERY SINGLE STAFF knows her by name. It is a big school but they all take time to know the kids. They each answer my questions with ease and I always felt that I could trust them to care for my kids. It has been heartbreaking and bittersweet to graduate from this school. My sons have been out of there for a few years and still told me we have to go back to visit. They have such special bonds with their former teachers. While all ECP families are members of the JCC and get to use the great facilities, not all the JCC members know the cherry on top is the ECP. It is my pleasure and honor to get to give such a great review to such a wonderful place that my kids called home for so many years.

I experienced snide remarks, poor communication, a lack of organization, and what felt like clear favoritism from senior leadership. There were also serious concerns around pay disparities and how employees were treated differently. The leadership culture often felt cliquey and unprofessional rather than supportive. Instead of feeling valued and respected, I often felt like I was navigating a "mean girls" environment. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this workplace, particularly to people of color looking for an equitable and supportive work environment.
