Nov, 2025. Excellent interaction with CVS Pharmacy today. I needed to have two prescriptions…read morefilled before I was to travel out-of-state for three weeks -- and time was running out. CVS needed to contact my doctor's office to refill the first of the prescriptions as the number of refills had expired. The second Rx was a bit confusing as my doctor had (correctly) submitted a prescription at a lower strength (25 mg vs. 50 mg) than my usual. Before turning the filled prescription over to me, the pharmacist had flagged my account to talk to me before release of the Rx to ensure that the lower dosage was correct. I appreciate both how responsive CVS was to filling my prescriptions before my travel, as well as the attention to safety in ensuring the strength of the medicines prescribed. Also, a shout out to C.J., at the pharmacy register -- who is always friendly and efficient in my interactions with her when picking up prescriptions!

Everything was comfortably appointed in the common areas--and there were very nice paintings throughout (and a beautiful Victorian sideboard in the dining room). The really nice breakfast spread made us forget it was just continental. (Fresh berries, Greek yogurt, good bagels, hard-cooked eggs, nice granola ... ) It also made our stay doubly worth the money. Staff was responsive, pleasant, and unobtrusive. As it happened, there were no other guests our night, and so we had the entire place to ourselves and lived like kings. It was SUCH a treat. Staff even left us a couple of slices of delicious quiche, out of which we made a light supper. (It's also good we had the place to ourselves, because: we booked I think the smallest room in the place, and, though there were about 24 inches to sidle around the full size bed, there was nowhere inside our private room to put our bags.) In the evening, we took a stroll down the street and into downtown Louisa, which was very pleasant. My only note is that, personally, I feel the Boxley Place is due for--and deserves--an interior refresh by an excellent professional designer. Just because architecture is historic does not mean furniture should stay stuck in yesteryear. But truly, our stay at the Boxley Place was an unexpected highlight of our trip.
