Several of the amenities were not available, the property was run down and dirty. After we arrived at the Glade cabin we walked down the property to see what it had to offer. We noticed our cabin did not have a washer and dryer in it as described and didn'tfind the communal area laundry to use. There was no map provided and no signage to guide what areas were private and for public use. We came upon the wood burning sauna and I gasped when i opened the door. It was run down, super rustic and it honestly reminded me of a crematorium. Next to that was the cool dip pool which was not in working order and not listed as that on the rental description. Several reviews seem like the pool hasnt been in use for a few years. We then walked up to the "castle" on a narrow foot bridge and at the top were what seemed to be two drunk men who claimed they lived there. They were blocking the walkway, and to get around them was awkward. They asked us how we found this place and why we were there. Something didn't sit right with that encounter, so we continued walking instead of going inside to see the communal area. We went back to our cabin and never used the rest of the property after that. It did not seem eco friendly either. The property seems to be in a constant state of construction that other things get overlooked and unkempt. The glade cabin was just ok. It was secluded which was a plus. It seemed clean however there was a strong musty smell throughout. No cleaning supplies offered. The cabin had an ant problem inside and a bee problem outside of the entry doors. Both doors were hard to lock from inside. The main door leading to the kitchen had quite a large gap between it and the frame causing an easy way for insects to get in. The keypad was also not working properly and had a constant noise coming from it which was annoying while trying to sleep. The furniture was old and not comfortable. It did have good wifi and was able to stream on the TV. The lightning was very dim inside, and although it had a lot of lights it was still dark. Im not sure how this property keeps getting good reviews, but i did find quite a few similar to mine. On TripAdvisor there is also mention of this being a nudist camp which was not mentioned in any of the rental descriptions. That, and the non working pool and sauna alone would have made me not book in the first place. Again misleading and unsettling. It is close to the national park which is why we originally chose this place. We spent as much time away from it as possible and only returned to sleep. We did not once see any employees or property managers. I would caution anyone to rethink booking here.

There's truly something for everyone, whether you're looking to relax or explore. We loved the dry sauna and the jacuzzi tub in our room, and spent our evenings cooking, sitting by the fire, and playing records. It was the perfect mix of cozy and fun. The property also has a hot tub, a cold plunge, and dry sauna and you can books massages, cooking classes and yoga classes on the property! So many other unique touches throughout -- you can really feel how much thought has gone into creating a serene and welcoming space. You can do as much or as little as you want here, and that flexibility makes it feel like your retreat. Can't recommend it enough. I am already dreaming about our next stay later this year!

Lastly, having a central bell on the deck of the meditation hall would be better than retreatants having to carry a small bell all over, ringing it. The grounds are beautiful. Don't miss a walk to the pond and meditating in the forest refuge sanctuary. That was a lovely experience.

COMPLETELY able to teach this multifaceted 90 minute yoga class! During this month long internship, we learned every Sanskrit yoga pose term, how to teach meditation, yoga nidra, Hatha, Pranayama, studied Raja yoga and SO much more! The environment is SO supportive and "chill". Private rooms were nice and the 3 vegan meals a day were healthy and fantastic as well. There are many hiking trails here, and several fantastic places to meditate alone, or with a group. They did temperate checks and everyone was wearing a mask but this did not detract from our services. We were given a quick tour and then off we went. We both had a message and a hand+foot scrubs. My massage with Amy was truly wonderful, she got a number of knots out of my back and made recommendations for future massages to help reset my muscles. The hand and foot scrubs were both great my skin feels so smooth now! I have done yoga in many locations, and currently live in Hawaii, where yoga has a fantastic presence. However, I wanted to give it a shot, so off I went. Upon entering the studio, I felt instantly calm. I was greeted by two lovely ladies, one who was the owner of the shop, Beth, and the other who turned out to be one of the instructors, June. I was coming to try the "Restorative Yoga" class. I used to practice yoga regularly, but since having my kiddo, yoga has been far in between for me. I was a little worried about how rusty I'd be, but I should not have worried--the instructor caters every movement to your yoga practice level, comfort level, and your needs. Before class we were offered a restorative drink, as well as some chocolate and fruit. It felt so luxurious--I felt pampered, honestly. (That's an added bonus for the evening restorative yoga classes, and makes me want to come every night they have it!) The class began. They'd set out all the items we would need, so it was a simple transition, just picking a spot. The instructor, June, walked us through everything, often explaining the thought process behind what we were doing. She also walked around and helped you get the correct posture or pose, gently. (The instructor even noticed I was having trouble with a certain position, and helped me find a way to strengthen my body after class!) I'm not going to go through every pose we did, or every part of the session, but I will leave you with this: It was good for mind, body, and soul. It was challenging, but fun. It was perfect for beginners, mid level folks, and yoga expert aficionados. Everyone there was at a different place in their practice, and we all enjoyed it immensely. I highly recommend Lake Anna Wellness Studio, and can't wait to return! If you're considering it, you need to go! They also offer Pilates, Aerial Yoga, and All Levels Yoga classes!
