After sending the inquiry, I immediately got an email back from Brendan with a quote. The price was more than reasonable especially given there weren't many service providers willing to do such a small job, and the next lowest quote I received was close to double what NoVa was going to charge. Brendan was also willing to come to Washington DC (Though he did request that I cover his parking expense at $25 which I thought was a reasonable request). The job was done quickly - took less than an hour. The grout matches the existing shower grout exactly, and I can't tell the tile was replaced. So that's all I could ask for. Utter disaster. It was a problem I didn't know how to fix myself as a somewhat experienced DIY'er. During the estimate process Mike explained why and how the failure occurred and what repairs could be done to remedy. The repair would also replacing a cracked tile in an extremely tight space (a corner tile next to a toilet). And of course I only had a single spare tile for the repair, as the floor tile was discontinued. Ed was transparent about the difficulty of the tile repair, but he miraculously pulled it off. The floor and the shower are back to looking brand new, and the best part is I don't have to worry about water issues anymore.
