It is absolutely beautiful out on the lake, and the views can't be beat. Here are some thoughts/recommendations for your visit: -The dock is NOT the place to fish with young children. It sways back and forth and kids are likely to fall in if they aren't watched carefully! Also be careful- there is lots of bird and deer poop on the dock! -It's hard to guess what might make the fish bite. Salmon eggs seemed to attract the most fish, but we still only caught one. We tried worms and fishing cheese as well. -The playground is really fun for kids, but the grassy area is filled with poop that make it hard to walk safely -The parking is so close to the lake, which was awesome!! Overall, we really enjoyed our experience here, and would recommend a visit! It's not a terribly far drive from Boise, either.

It's not really a far drive out (approximately just 2 hrs) but the rough road which started I think at Ola, Idaho made it long (about an hour; pls note we are pulling a trailer). Beautiful campground with a thick forest & wide lake! They have great bike trail/hiking trail along the river, not paved but it's an easy one that our 10 year old can follow! We also explored the oh so green forest! We did kayak in the river & swam. The lake is clean, several beach spots but not sandy, just muddy. Boats can only have a speed limit of 15mh, I think the river is just meant for a fishing boats, kayaks or paddle boards though there was a boat there that drove more than 15 mph. They have few camp sites so you need to reserve months in advance, husband did in February. No cell service & no internet/wifi was a plus, I think camping is meant to be like that, we disconnect to connect! No electricity, water & sewer hook ups, but we only stayed for 3 days & 2 nights that we were able to exhaust our water just right & filled our sewer just right. Overall a great camp out! We will definitely visit again!

Left as soon as we could. I don't see how anyone could give them a multiple star rating. Please don't stay here.

We stopped in the past week as we passed through the Boise area. It was a late day and we needed to get a late reservation. We called, they answered promptly and were very very accommodating. The prices were so fair... a little low, if you ask me. The park was delightful and clean. There was no trash blowing around, the grass was properly cut, the drives / spots were well-lit and marked. It was fantastic. We had a very convenient spot that was a pull through. We have a rather long rig, no problems getting adjusted. The ground was level, it was a breeze! Please take into consideration the timing of some of the previous reviews seems suspicious to me. Give them a chance... we highly recommend (see my other 500+ reviews, I don't just hand out 5-stars for any reason). Thanks again to the owners and staff! First of all, George, the guy i talked to on the phone ("come on down, bring all your friends! $7 per car."), who took my money, gave me a free pen, gave me some discarded cardboard to help me build a fire, and showed me where the bathroom was, was very friendly and helpful. You know those customer service experiences where you find yourself smiling minutes after you've finished talking? It was like that. This place was about a 15 minute drive from I-80 and yet it feels as though it was hours away from civilization (could have sworn I heard "Dueling Banjos" being played as we drove down the long gravel road). We were treated to both a beautiful sunset and sunrise and there was an adorable babbling brook nearby. We were tent camping on what I'm pretty sure was someone's front lawn but when it got dark we could have been deep in the forest, it was so quiet and peaceful. Every inch of our un-bug-sprayed-exposed skin got bit my mosquitoes, though I think that was due in part to our choosing to be so close to the water. The inhabitants of the campgrounds looked like permanent residents, there were about 8 or so RVs that looked like they hadn't been moved in a while. They probably don't have very many tent campers, because there were only 2 fire pits. The bathroom was really clean (if a little old and decrepit) and heated! Totally private shower. If you find yourself looking for a motel alternative in Eastern Oregon, this is a really good one. Bring the bug spray!

In the clubhouse you can play pool, watch tv, swim in the pool or lounge in the jacuzzi. There's also a wonderful kitchen where you can reserve the room for a get-together-an island to prepare, plenty of frig space and lots of tables set up in a 1950's theme! You can hear the speedway from where we live, and you can hear a train off in the distance. We love that community feeling we have here, and can afford the price. Cheers to KOA!
