This has been my home church for the last 6.5 years, which currently meets at Orchard Hills Middle School gym at 10:30am. Although I've been saved for almost 20 years, I did not truly start growing in my spiritual walk and deepening my personal relationship until I discovered Vision through a homeschool friend's invitation. I also did not realize what true fellowship, faith accountability and co-laboring for the kingdom models were until I stepped out to serve about 6 months after attending. Pastor Garid and his wife, Ruth, are very prayerful and intentional with everything they teach and offer here at Vision. Besides teaching the Calvary way as he learned under his own pastor, Chuck Smith, which is verse by verse, chapter by chapter, book by book of the Bible (the whole counsel of God), they are so relatable and know their flock. It always amazes me how many names he remembers and so quickly for a sizable congregation! He sprinkles in personal anecdotes that are funny, yet tie in with the messages. He also guest speaks across the country so other congregations can be blessed by the power of the Holy Spirit working through him. My husband also serves in teardown (the downside of being a "church in a box" every Sunday), and my two sons have gone through 3 kids' ministry levels so far! They have a family room that streams the service in, a nursery so you can take a break and have a trusted volunteer take care of your baby, 4 year old up to high school level groupings where the Word is taught in an age-appropriate way! I've also been able to co-labor with the most gifted, highest caliber of volunteers ever! I've been on the events team in decor, women's ministry, Bible study participant, kids ministry as craft and Bible teacher, VBS team, and then, as with most others, jumping in wherever needed. They also have a second campus for ministry events during the week while they begin to transition away from Orchard Hills on Sundays. But that won't completely transition until probably Easter 2024. Pastor Garid and his wife, Ruth, are such an authentic, loving and kind couple. They are a good example of a loving marriage and devoted parents. Great church a+ Bible teaching this church is great. The people are great no one is perfect we are all sinners but if you want to do life in a church I recomend this church no doubt. Vision City Church is an amazing, amazing church. It truly has the heart of God at its center and is filled with nothing but His Word and His people. We are all in this world together, having struggles together, and it's really nice to go to a place that I can be honest, and real, and know that everyone else around me feels the same way. Staying true to God's Word and teaching the WHOLE Bible is VERY foundational at Vision City and you won't find Pastor Garid teaching anything other -- not to mention, he can be pretty funny at times, too! Also, If you have kids, their Sunday school is as equally developed as the main service. They have 4 or 5 classes of all different ages, each being taught the same message but catered to a specific age. The teachers are genuine and loving with the kids and they are always planning some new and fun activity for the kids -- and the kids love it. If you are in the area for Christmas, I'd come to Vision City for their "Christmas in the Hills" event that they are doing. I went last year and I couldn't believe all the things that they brought in to make it happen! :) Anyways, Vision City is just.... it's really amazing. If you're looking for precept upon precept teaching, a message that will feed your heart and give light to your life, a church that will look after you AND your kids, then you're going to want to visit Vision City. This is a fantastic church with expository teaching. No pop psychobabble sermons here, thank you very much! Pastor Garid is not one to shy away from life's tough questions. It's is a great place to go from milk to meat in your Christian walk. Absolutely love the amazingly talented worship band. I have been coming to Vision City for almost a year now, and wow -- I have never felt more at home or had such a close knit family somewhere like I do this church. From day one when I walked in the doors, I was greeted with warm smiles, genuine love, and so many different friendly faces, reaching out to me to introduce themselves and recognizing I was new. That alone told me something was different about this church. I had came from a bigger church (and still have yet to have one person reach out to see where I have been! Ha!), and it was easy to come in and leave, with no one ever knowing who I was or if I showed up or not. I LOVED what I felt and saw on that first day. This is what Jesus talked about when he spoke of the Church. This was what it is supposed to be like! After my lovely first time experience, it wasn't long before I found myself serving on the hospitality team and part of an amazing family. I haven't looked back since! The worship team is off the charts and electrifies the service, no matter who is singing. They are all lover's of Jesus and using their spiritual gifts to glorify Him in every way, and it shows. I even brought my mom when she visited and she could have sworn one of the singers was the orginial singer off the radio..ha! They are that good! And finally, Pastor Garid. He is anointed beyond words and truly has me walking away every Sunday in awe of the God we serve. His sermons are raw and real, yet he still captivates the audience with powerful teaching, dropping a few jokes here and there that have you chuckling. He is one of the few pastors that still teaches his sermons right out of the bible: line by line, verse by verse, and God speaks right through Him every time. Whether you are a new believer or a seasoned one...you will be blessed every Sunday! Before Vision City Church I would go to one church for a couple months, then another, it feels great to finally have a home. I have meet so many people and each of them really care for each other. It is so cool to see God working in this church! The worship music is great and you can feel the love each service. Pastor Garid is so dedicated to teaching the whole bible. I love how he teaches a whole book, we are in Romans right now and my soul is getting feed! The church has every age spectrum you can imagine. My wife and I love the other couples we meet. The young families in the church are great examples for us. The singles are dedicated to living a Godly life. And lastly, the elders in the church are encouraging all of us with our walk with God. I've been going since the third week it started. It has been so amazing serving behind the scenes at this church. I usually help out setting up and tearing down and also help greeting at the front doors. The worship is absolutely amazing. The youth group that has just started is so amazing! I found Vision City from a friend and it's just perfect! Pastor Garid is dynamic and brings the Bible to modern life. The people are friendly and welcoming. I've been part of the Calvary Chapel movement for a while and I'm glad to see that Pastor Garid is a solid bible teacher like Pastor Chuck Smith.
