Indeed, over a 10-day period recently, a disturbing amount of my workday was devoted to calling Karl's to ask when I would get the parts/services promised. After nearly 2-weeks of fighting this fight, I gave up. No human should have to work this hard (and inconvenience themselves this much!) to attain basic services from a retail outlet that professes to be committed to providing excellent customer service. This is outrageous! I have traveled the world and I've never encountered such indifference and incompetence requiring so much painful personal effort and inconvenience on the part of the customer to attain basic services. In short, your store is absolutely AWFUL! So... as to the question posed on your website "how did we do?"... I can provide a simple answer... YOU DID AWFUL! We pride ourselves on supporting small-town businesses, but this Karl's outlet taught us what idiots we are subscribing to such a philosophy and why we should instead take our business to the likes of Lowes and HomeDepot. We called Langland's and even though they were super busy, they found the time to come out. Literally took them 30 minutes to get our AC back up and running. The second time (today) we didn't waste our time calling someone else. This repair was a bit more work but once again the were quick, professional, and didn't mess around. Our home is cool and it's occupants are happy. As long as Langland's is in business they will be the only place in Brookings we call for heating or cooling issues.

This place seemed to have the best price and a decent warranty on kids' frames. We had a specific frame in mind and the lady on the phone said that they carry RayBan Jr and if they didn't have the exact frame in stock, they could order it. She also told me about a 50% off sale going on. We head over that evening and they didn't have a single pair of RayBans in stock. They only had a few cheap, dorky (sorry kids) pairs in the little kid section. The lady behind the counter wrote down the frame number and said she could order it, while promoting a "buy one, get one" sale (we don't want 2 pairs, we only wanted the one). Fast forward another week or so. My husband gets a call a day from them telling him that the frames are in for us to try (why we need to try them, we don't know since we already picked out the exact frame my son wanted). We go in to "try" the frames and the ones we wanted were not in the pile. They were more cheap looking ones. The lady tries to argue with my husband about these being the frames we wanted to look at and tells him the the Ray Bans won't be in for another week. Needless to say, we drove to Minneapolis this weekend, were in and out of Target Optical in under 1/2 hour (the sales lady even fit the frames to him and those frames will be the ones with his prescription in them) and my son's new glasses will be delivered to us before the "try on" frames will even get to Total Eyewear. We should have saved the frustration and just drove to MPLS right away instead of going back and forth with this shop.
