i went to this vision town for a yearly eye exam and new eyeglass prescription since the $200 off will change to $100 off next year. since i skipped last year, having no major problems and still having nothing to worry about now, i figured i would make use of my eyeglass benefit with my insurance before it changes. so last week i go, 11/12/25, get checked out, with a minimal change in my right eye. so i pick out a pair of glasses with some anti glare protection, etc., and get told the glasses would be $470.00. with the $200.00 off, i still owe $270.00. i tell the woman fitting me, that i didn't expect the cost to be so high and that it would take me a couple of months to pay it off, with christmas coming. i also had a couple of other expenses to pay, that i did not figure on this month. she said, " okay, but could i leave a deposit?" i gave her $50.00, with a $****** balance left. i get a phone call yesterday telling me that my eyeglasses are ready. again, i tell the girl on the phone that i do not have the money to pay off the glasses now. she said, "no problem, just pay what you can."? with that straightened out, i go to vision town today to pick up my glasses and notice the people there aren't the ones that were there last week. questioning them, they tell me they rotate between the other store and here. some small talk while he gets my glasses. i try them on, read a sight card and i wait to get a receipt and an eyeglass case and the *** says, i owe ******. i said i know i owe $******, but the girl that called me said it was okay to pay when i got the money. i said " how much do you want?" he said, "the full amount or i cannot have the glasses " i tell him the girl on the phone told me it was okay to wait until i could pay. he said he needed all of the money and to come back when i can pay in full?????? being a senior citizen on a fixed income, then to have to deal with a putz like that. i will get them their money, then never go back again. this isn't a big store and to have different people give different responses is unacceptable to me. read more

Dr. Eva was great! She was very professional and took the time to educate me on my eye condition. After having glasses for 20 years, this was the first time an eye doctor took the time to educate me on my myopia and the treatments my future kids can have that weren't available when I was younger. I will definitely go back to her again for my yearly eye exam. Also, don't forget if you get your eyes dilated, have someone else drive you home and wear sunglasses! read more

Do yourself a favor and read the other reviewer. They are dead on to exactly how this place runs. I told the sales lady, that I wanted a refund 30 minutes after leaving. Because I realized that I was getting ripped off. The same exact frame I had picked out was available online for $100 less. While I do believe the local guys need to make a profit. The staff is beyond amazing! Professional, informative, helpful, and will go above and beyond. They went as far as going to another store to pick up the necessary lenses for my frames so I could have my glasses that night! Amazing I went in to get my glasses tightened and walked out with a brand new pair of glasses I am in love with and a proper script thanks to the wonderful optomologost She was thorough and helped me understand what's been going on with my eyes. I feel like a brand new person! One that can finally properly see lol I highly recommend going here! The staff is wonderful to deal with, great selection, and you're supporting local! I have since moved to Colorado, but felt compelled to write this review based on my recent experience getting my glasses repaired. Eye Exam - Dr. Beers insisted that I stop using 2 different type of contact lenses, 1 for astigmatism and 1 without. I happily obliged but she set me up with contacts that weren't strong enough, and didn't fit right. My new optometrist recently informed me that it was okay to use 1 standard and 1 toric lense so I am back to seeing much more clearly. I think Dr. Beers was just a little too pushy about it. Customer Service - Here is where I am mixed up on. In the store all the staff were very helpful and took their time to handle everything. The bridge on my glasses recently snapped so I sent them back for repairs from Colorado with $10 as stated for shipping. The replacement took about 2 weeks. I got a call on 1/7/15 letting me know they were complete and would be shipped back shortly. I called back on 1/15/15 to see where they were and was told they were already shipped out a few days ago and I would get them. Today is 1/21/15 and I just got my glasses, post-marked 1/15/15 (The day I called), and only costing $2.83. Guess they kept the change. It doesn't seem like they're on top of things as far as their customer service goes, I should have had these glasses back a week earlier but was lied to on the phone when I called about them. They need to understand that honesty is always the best policy. read more

The customer service provided was horrendous. I purchased a Groupon that stated it included 2 boxes of contacts and a contact exam. The Groupon stated "Contacts option will include 2 boxes of standard non astigmatic contact lenses & will not include toric, bifocal or hard lenses." It said nothing about a specific brand of contacts or that it wouldn't include daily contact lenses. When I walked in I was told this Grouon could only be redeemed for "Acuvue 2" contact lenses and nothing else. I brought a print out with me but the woman "helping" me just wouldn't hear anything I said. She just kept stating that daily lenses are "premium lenses" and that the Groupon didn't cover them... even though it clearly states "$88 for one eye exam for contacts (a $125 value) and two boxes of standard contact lenses (a $140 value; a $265 total value)" - daily contact lenses cost $65 per box (approximately) well within the value stated. The woman started getting loud and nasty saying that I was being rude and disrespectful even though she was the one yelling at me. I told her it was rude of her to be dishonest and not honor what was clearly written in the Groupon. I walked out telling her I'd never been treated so poorly as a customer but she had nothing but more rude things to say. I reported them to Groupon and got my money back. I'd never recommend this office. They were nothing but rude and nasty. read more

This place is top shelf had a problem with my Oakley tiebar they said they would replace them then corona lockdown happened as soon as they were able to return to work they kept there word and they gave me a brand new pare and joe was nice enough to let me keep the defective pair the staff there are really nice and helpful had a good experience read more

My review is up 2 stars from my last review because i decided to call to see if i can get a new dr.. the office manager (dont know if she would want me to put her name here) is very nice, very understanding and yes i can see a new dr.. and shes working on my trial lens... i wont delete the old review yet, you can still read it..... Don't expect to get there, whether you have an appointment or not, whether you're on time or not, and walk out at a reasonable time. Dr. Beers has the gift of gab. Appointments are constantly running very very late. You can hear the bs-ing and laughing while your sitting there 20, 30, 40 min. After you're appointment. I walked out of today's appointment. The appointment before that, she admitted once she gets taking, she Takes Forever to do her job. My last visit, she grabbed her ears and said, I lost an earring, I knew I was screwed. She can't concentrate, she seems to have adult A.D.D.. If your a patient of hers, your sure to know all about her personal life. Her mother, her kids and their play, her migraines. It's rude, it's annoying. I understand an appointment can run late but Dr. Beers appointments run extremely late due to the facts mentioned. My family will now seek a new Dr.. read more

Worse place I ever been to, on December 21st 2015, I bought a pair of Coach Frame for my daughter, the guy (owner) told me it will take up to two weeks to get the glasses, his wife said to me that I could take the frames with me since it was a Christmas gift for me daughter and they will call me as soon as they have the glasses so I could bring back the frames to get it done, not to mention the guy (I don't know his name) he is very rude and obnoxious, made me pay in full for the frames wouldn't get adorn payment, I didn't care to pay in full, I understand I'm taking the product to put it on a gift box but the way he asked for me to pay is what it bothers me, I'm not a thief, I got two pairs for myself, one thru my insurance and one out of packet, another pair of Coach and paid $280.00 for him to be so obnoxious and tell me he couldn't trust me, so why did I trust him when I got my pair of Coach and the very first day, one of the glasses pop out while I was driving??? And I had to bring it back and he wouldn't give me any warranty in writing all the said was "I'm not going anywhere" Webern here for 30 years. Really!!! Maybe is time to retired since you can't give a good customer service to your clients Today 01-16-2016 26 DAYS LATER!! I called to find out where are my daughters glasses are and the person that answer couldn't locate her name on file and hung up on me, I called again and he put me on hold, the woman answer (wife/owner) asked for my name and phone number and claimed she will call me back, she better call me back today if not this will go to BBB (Better Business Bureau) and Consumer Affair, I'm not playing games with anyone. You wouldn't even bother to order them, once again he is so rude told me he wouldn't give me my money back because he didn't want to end of story, had the nerve to blame it on his employee, I told him not to do that because he was the one that took the order, he was the one that took my two 100 dollar bills not his employee and since he wouldn't give me my money back I had to call the cops, Nassau police showed up and he officer explained nicely that due to health regulations by health department, frames, mattresses and food can not be return, he said if you buy food and return it they will throw it out, same with eye frames and mattresses, I said to the office, okay I understand what you're telling me but WHY they couldn't explained this to me instead of being so rude and telling me no because I don't want to? I'm an educated person I understand PLUS it should be a sign at the stores with this regulation plus it should be on the receipt to, I showed my receipt to the officer and it doesn't read anything. Live and learn I said, not every person in the world knows about this regulation by health department, I made the woman to give me a written note assuring me the glasses will be ready on Tuesday January 19th 2016 and told her to talk to her husband and make him understand that he needs to learn people skills and threat his clients with respect. DO NOT GO HERE. They are inexcusably rude. The owner is sarcastic to the point of being patronizing and insulting. He rolls his eyes at his customers, never ever says please or thank you or even HI! Every time I walk in, no one says hello; rather, I need to say hello in order to get anyone to even look up to notice me, even if I am the only one in the store. The owner, his wife, and their daughter are all fat slobs who are more concerned with eating behind the counter or chatting with each other about their personal issues than they are with greeting their customers. It is a shame because the actual doctors are so professional and kind. I feel bad that they have to work for people who don't even deserve to be hired at Walmart. Please, if you read this, don't go there or stop going there because they deserve to be put out of business. read more

For starters, the exam room at this Vision World is gross. The chair is so old the seat cover is all broken up, and the machine where you rest your chin and forehead had no paper to be changed between patients. She didn't even wipe it down with alcohol. (I only went there because it was the only place within 20 miles that took my insurance) When I went back to pick up my glasses, the owners were there, with a box of Pizza spread out on the counter eating with one of the employees, and a counter clerk asked my name, found the glasses and handed them to me, I put them on and she said They look great, and handed me the bill. In the past, I've always gone to places where an optician checks them, makes sure they're sitting correctly, comfortable on your ears, etc. Nope. This was like a hand-off by a clerk while the owner/optometrist and his wife and staff ate pizza all over the front counter in the shop. As for cost, even with insurance, my progressive lenses with basic (not designer) frames was still $440. I needed prescription sunglasses and decided to try Costco optical a couple of weeks later. When I went back to Farmingdale to get my prescription, the woman wrote it down, made a mistake, corrected it, and handed it to me. I didn't realize that the cross out made the prescription invalid, but the woman should have. So I had to go back again to get a new written prescription. I brought the new prescription to Costco and they made me glasses to Vision World's specs and twice the glasses were unwearable. So they tested my glasses. The Rx that Vision World wrote down was inaccurate. It did not even match the lenses in the glasses they just sold me. And the transition between the distance part of the progressive lens and the reading part is not well done; I will not be going back there. read more

Completely unprofessional service. The manager Rosa is completely disrespectful, rude and arrogant. My daughter had a 10 am appointment on a Rainy day. The office was closed. My daughter waited there for over 30 minutes and then left. I called the office at 12:30 pm spoke with Rosa and expressed my frustration about my daughter waiting over 30 minutes for an appointment. She was very arrogant and stated that my daughter shouldn't have come out in the rain. Rosa then indicated that she would not risk her life to make an appointment. I specifically stated to Rosa her handling of this situation was completely unprofessional and all patients should have been called in advance if the office was going to be close or have a delayed opening. She then became more upset and stated that other patients canceled their appointments and my daughter should have too. I told her that the least she could have done was give patients a call when they arrived and rescheduled the appointments, but she felt that was unnecessary. I told her my daughter waited over 30 minutes and Rosa indicated they got there at 10:20 am which she did not. She also stated that my daughter is a liar. This type of behavior is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. As long as Rosa is the office manager do not go to this establishment. There is not another manager to speak with, only her. This is the type of personnel this doctor office hires. Do not go here. read more

my grandmother recently went here and they gave her her old prescription instead of her new one. i've also gone here but it was 3 years ago - waited an hour and a half for my glasses to be done - the thing connecting the arms and the frames [not the hinge] has a gap on both sides. since i've had these for 3 years it's obviously gotten worse since but they did come with that gap. they've always been tilted wrong and they constantly fall off of my face without me even doing anything. if i were you, i'd go somewhere else, unless you want messed up glasses. read more

Yes, Dr. DeBeers has the gift of gab....HOWEVER, she a wonderful and very smart Doc that will listen to all your symptoms, see what medications your on, look at your history, and develop a plan for you that has science behind it. She is a very accurate diagnostician, and she is worth waiting for. Yes, it can take longer, yes, you can sit there....But just take a deep breath and go with the flow. Sometimes your diagnosis, and best fit is worth a little extra time. The entire crew at Vision World are a great group of people. Yolanda will help you for HOURS picking out glasses, and never lost her smile. Joe, is a great person, and always willing to help. I wouldn't leave them for the world. Most unprofessional eye doctor I have ever been to. I normally would go to my usual doctor but I no longer have insurance and saw that this place had the cheapest eye exams around. I got much less than I paid for. After an eye exam using tools which seemed like they came from the 18th century, I received an eye script. I went to a nearby eyeglasses store and gave them the script for the glasses to be made. Lo and behold when I picked the glasses up, I could not see 2 feet in front of me. I called up my old eye doctor to get my old prescription and realized that this new place had put a '+' where there should have been a '-'. When I came into the store to ask him about it, the owner was EXTREMELY RUDE, noting they have a no refund policy and that the people who made the glasses must have messed up. Let me begin by saying I only went here because they accept my insurance so despite the horrible reviews I thought I would take a chance. Let me just say I was shocked to see how accurate the reviews were. The staff was extremely rude and obnoxious. The owner which was a man I never got the name of spent more time talking about unrelated topics with his staff rather than allowing them to help the 4 people waiting for service. Horrible customer service and always giving an attitude when they have to do a small amount of work for you. Everything is also unorganized. They do not have a computer system (owner too cheap to update) so everything is written on flashcards. I say this because while I was waiting I overheard 2 other people who were stuck waiting awhile because their "file" was lost.
