A few days later, found out my cousin was having a day party nearby but around the same time. Decided to reschedule the appointment for an earlier time but there were no more Saturday appointments available. I called the office to make sure this was the case, which it was, so informed the host that we would be running late. First off, there is no signage off Westheimer to let you know this location is here. I ride across the entire shopping center to get to it. The parking is tight and very sparse. Don't let anyone double park and take up precious space. The inside is very tiny. Not much of a waiting room at all, so if you're taking someone here and waiting for them, you might as well go somewhere else because its limited. I however, was working remotely, so I didn't have time to travel somewhere else to setup my station but in hindsight, I think I should have because there was no WiFi available so setting up my hotspot to work and making space on the available table to work was probably the same amount of time to go somewhere else. Although they finished examinng my Mom in record time, I really think they were rushing to leave because how you going to dilate someone and forget to give them the glasses??? I think my Mom was taken by surprise from them telling her she hadn't met her deductible and would be paying more to go through her insurance but still I think they rushed us out the door. The keys were even in the door as we left but maybe that was because I still was working about 10 minutes after they closed out her payment. I had work to do, so go disinfect rooms before you close, but while I was working, I noticed the nauseting smell of disinfectant fumigating a room. If that's the only disinfecting you're doing, we're in trouble. This Dr. my Mom went to was mine as well, but Ive been feeling like she may be leaving soon or the company is changing that is reducing her hours, so I'll be looking for a new Optician this summer. Memorial Eye is expensive and just not what they use to be, which was friendly and cost effecient a decade ago when I found them. I can pay less and go down the street near my home and probably get the same service.

Unfortunately, my most recent visit was a completely different experience. In the past, wait times were minimal. This time, I waited over 30 minutes in an extremely cold exam room. The temperature was unbearable, it felt like a refrigerator. I had a sweater on and was still uncomfortable. Later, the doctor mentioned that the AC was broken and moved us to a different room with a space heater. If the AC issue was known, patients should not have been left sitting in those conditions for that long. The doctor I saw was new to me, and the interaction was disappointing. During the vision test, when asked which image was clearer, I explained that both appeared blurry and I couldn't see the letter well enough to determine which was better. Instead of working with that feedback, she repeatedly insisted I choose one based on brightness. Since neither looked clearer, I eventually gave a random answer just to move forward. It did not feel like my input was being heard or taken seriously. That was how the whole exam went. When I asked questions, they were brushed aside. The overall tone felt dismissive and condescending, which made me uncomfortable. As a result, I did not feel confident filling my prescription there. I have valued this location for years, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Based on this visit, I will not be returning.

This is a review from an appointment months ago. I have had glasses for 35 years and contacts for…read more25. This was arguably the worst experience I've had trying to communicate with a doctor and facility. Do not go here unless you have a lot of free time to argue and have multiple appointments to make sure they listen to you. In retrospect, there are a few places things fell apart. 1) The appointment. I realized later the doctor never asked me for my old prescription. He also did an exam and then lectured me about how I'm going to need glasses for astigmatism and seemed to be amused and joking about me getting old. When I pick up my prescription for glasses and contacts they are way off. It took me a week or so to realize (because I generally trust my doctors) but after dizzy spells I realized he had prescribed me a significant jump over my existing prescription which has not only stayed the same for two decades, I had worked with my last eye doctor to lower my prescription bc of headaches due to being on screens for the whole day. I came back in for another exam and he didn't apologize or say anything other than to change my prescription after he verified he was way off the first time. Not that I asked for compensation but nothing was offered. 2) The ordering/ front desk. Nice people but they are wholly disconnected from their customers. After my lens prescription was corrected I asked multiple times to ensure the glasses were changed too. I was assured by the woman up front as well as the guy who makes the lenses that they would be. When I came back again (we are now on our third visit) they were not only wrong, they used the wrong type of lens. The tech could not explain why he did that but just took them back and said he'd fix them. I reminded him again at that time to make sure the prescription was updated bc they were wrong. Fourth visit. Guess what? Lenses are correct but prescription is wrong again. Yet again no explanation and no apologies let alone any sort of offer to compensate or rectify for my time. Just another "well come back again" 3) Related, my parents had a similar experience. The condescending doctor didn't listen to my mother and gave her glasses that made her dizzy. She doesn't speak up as much as I do so she just kept them and didn't use them until she got them corrected elsewhere. I have no words for the level of terrible experience I had here. I simply do not have time in my day for this level of incompetence. After that last appointment I just didn't bother. I have a pair of $400 glasses I can't wear sitting in my drawer and I'm glad we are finally on a new year so I can find a competent eye doctor.

This office not only SOLD (told me $150 would be covered by insurance and I paid my $25 copay) me…read moresample boxes of contacts that say "Not for Sale" (fraud) but they have now blocked my phone number so I cannot call to request a copy of my receipt where they charged me. I was seen in January and was told they would be filing with my insurance and as of 3/30 they still have yet to file with my insurance because they know what they are doing is fraud. when I called from a different number they were mad that I got through and told me that Bob (really aggressive office manager or some other title that makes him feel like a big guy) told them not to talk to me. Bob is the same person who yelled at me when I questioned the boxes of sample contacts, called me a liar, and instructed his staff to no longer help me. I guarantee the physician has no idea what is going on in her practice. Really shady business practices all around and clear fraud/theft.
