When I presented my retired ID card to you it wasn't good enough. You insisted you needed my Tricare card when I've never had or used one in the 21 years I've been retired. What I have to say to you is you're one of the most irrelevant, lazy people I've ever met in my life. Isn't it your job to validate my insurance? Was that to much effort for you? I rarely get any skin problems but a colleague at the office (who bless her heart has skin cancer!) recommended that I see Dr. Chabra and now, I want to recommend him to all of you. After a month here my new fillings felt wrong, it hurt to bite down and I had 2-3 days of strong toothache pain across my whole upper toothline. Unfortunately with no insurance, and just barely starting a job, I was very worried I wouldn't be able to find anyone to fix it. After googling around, I found a coupon on their website for an inexpensive exam and xrays and made an appointment, thinking if I needed work done I'd just find out how urgent it is and try to schedule it after a month or two. I'm a doctor, and speak from experience - not only did they do a thorough history and evaluation (especially for such a great price), they also did xrays and showed me photographs of that area of my molars so I could understand the situation. Technology has improved a LOT since I left the states to work overseas, so the digital xray camera, and photos were amazing to see. The absolute best part, which is important to me as an ethical healthcare provider, was that they didn't immediately tell me a list of problems and work I'd need done (that really didn't need to be done - we've all been there, right?). They assured me that my fillings were fine (the Dr overseas did a better job than I'd worried about); explained that the configuration of the filling wasn't what I'd misunderstood them to be; that I could floss easily (I hadn't been, because I'd thought the space between the teeth closed off); reassured me that flossing should help mitigate my issue and the pain... I called and spoke with Christine and Siouxland Podiatry and she was very helpful and friendly, and offered the office email to send the scanned image of the X-Ray and she would have a doctor take a look. Of course they couldn't give me an official diagnosis, but they were willing to take time to look at the image and give me their "off the record" opinion on the steps to take until I got back to the US and could receive proper treatment. Of course this was a very unusual situation everyone involved was in, but they were extremely understanding and resourceful in giving me professional advice I was hoping for.
