Having been a patient of the doctor she previously worked for, I was eager to visit her shop and see what she had to offer. I was amazed by the array of styles of glasses she had in stock! Everything from Vera Wang to Prodesign Denmark and back again! Much more of a selection of frames than I could have imagined, and they really ran the gamut from conservative and tame to funky and fun! Being more of the fun and funky variety, I picked a great pair of frames from the designer Urban Edge. The frames, along with high-index lenses, non-reflective coating, and 3 day turn-around were only $190! Everywhere else in Asheville charges $80 and more for the non-reflective coating, and Rhonda HALFED that. She'd love for you to stop by and say hello, she's very personable, and she really and truly knows her business. Rhonda will not lie to you about what frame looks nice on your face, and she will not push a more expensive frame on you. You truly cannot beat Ambiance Optique on price, quality, or service in the Asheville area!!!

I got headaches from eyestrain trying to "get used to them," as they encouraged me to do. The optometrist insists the glasses are correct for my vision and that there's something wrong with my physical or mental health. The owner says she's never given a refund in 34 years and isn't going to now. It isn't true that they make the glasses on site. They contract the work from a lab that they say gives them one chance to make corrections.

Wow, I guess I'll research closer to home. The only reason I visited this mill of an office was that a friend used them once and had a good experience. Perhaps with the doctor who has excellent credentials, but he should think about changing some of his staff. I've been in the medical field for 35 years and never experienced such arrogance.

The check in girl finally came to the check in counter after several minutes. Immediately says that they were an hour to hour and half behind because they "had been punched in the face all day" umm ok??? We had an appointment. We walked around for about an hour looking at frames waiting... only one person was sitting in the "waiting room" side... anyways I got my eye exam. I agreed to pay extra for a more comprehensive exam. The girl who came to get me wasn't very helpful or knowledgeable and she spoke so low that I couldn't even hear her hardly. I was seated in the outside of the eye exam rooms... yes there's two different kinds. I literally had a supposed eye doctor on a screen that I couldn't hardly hear. The girl who came to do the first part of the exam actually said we're not real eye doctors but we don't have to dilate your eyes and we're cheap so people keep coming back to us... ugh. Great!
