The owner is nasty and immature and refused to honor my insurance. I have a $0 copay for an eye exam and he charged me $60. He refused to call my insurance company even though I asked him to please check with them because I don't know where he got his information from. He repeatedly yelled at me that I didn't know what I was talking about, I would just believe anyone's lies (not sure where he even got that from) and I was an idiot. My insurance called him multiple times to try and get my $ back and he flat out refused. He is a criminal that is committing insurance fraud, judging from those who had similar experiences to me. I have Medicare and pay Medicaid an overage to cover glasses, dental etc. But, GROSS, the man at the desk( the ugly gray haired one), not only threw my card down as if he was so disgusted by it, he couldn't even acknowledge a good bye, move along get out. The worst experience I have ever had in my entire life I've been wearing glasses for over 15 years I went to purchase a pair of glasses two years ago I was happy with it it was fine. I went again recently to purchase glasses with my insurance through Suffolk County. Unfortunately he tried to sell me a pair of $700 glasses which I told him that it was beyond my budget and he sold me cheaper glasses Longchamp version for $200.02 weeks prior to that because my insurance and I cover it I come back and tell him that the glasses are broken and he can't even assist me or give me a refund or even a discount. He then says that the discount is what my insurance covers. We all know that with insurance covers is not a discount. They were not willing to work with me or anything like that. Stay away. First was the A/C off in August. Awful smell. Dr. was good. Front desk THE WORST. Complete deception. No explanation of costs. Lots of "scribbling" of illegible numbers on my receipt. As a new member of Amalgamated Local 22, I went to Vision World in Bay Shore, New York for their eye exam and glasses since the pamphlet that my new insurance company provide me indicates that Vision World is one of the many providers in Suffolk County New York. I come to learn at the time of checkout that Vision World does not accept the Local 22 insurance. Vision World's computer system indicates that they are out of network; therefore, I had to pay out-of-pocket for their services. Needless to say, I paid out of pocket for an eye exam only and left without eyeglasses. I take responsibility for taking the information provided by insurance provider at face value and not confirming with Vision World of their participation in the program; but, they did not ask me any financial questions upfront, neither. As a professional office, you would expect that the financial obligation is discussed prior to services being rendered; not in this office. So, please learn from my experience. read more

I felt so welcomed in this store. The staff were AMAZING. I havent had glasses in about 6 months and today was my birthday i was super eager to get them ASAP. As soon as i waled in they took me and checked my eye sight and i had my prescribed glasses on my face within 30 MINUTES of me being in there. Amazing. The doctor took his time with me and when he was done with his evaluation he said my vision hadn't changed that much and didn't push me into getting new glasses. If I could have given this establishment zero stars I totally would have. The front desk staff was completely rude, the woman never looked up from her computer to acknowledge patrons entering the store and the man who was helping with glasses couldn't have been any ruder. I witnessed him get frustrated when a Hispanic man was questioning the bill for his sons glasses just asking simple questions about pricing. With so many optical places on LI I will never be visiting this eyeglass place again, completely unfriendly front staff and weird pricing, NO THANKS. Vision world has a great optician and optometrist if you want professional and personal service. They have a great selection of designer frames. They are open late on Thursday if you need to go after work. They take most optical plans and health insurances. Stop in and ask for Eugene. They take great pride in what they do. read more

The doctor was very nice .. But the man at the front desk made racist comments that I did not particularly care for. They were also very slow, unfortunately you cannot return prescriptive glasses. I would not recommend that place anybody. Also the prices were kind of high. read more

Terrible service. Very rude man, not willing to help you at all. The new prescription I had, had astigmatism in the right lens which my doctor said I may not react well too. I got the glasses from this place and I couldn't see with them, so I went back to my doctor to get a script without the astigmatism and when I went back to vision world he told me there was no way to get another pair of glasses through my insurance and I would have to pay him $50 for an eye exam. He was very rude while doing so and when I asked if he would help me or not he replied, "You're not being nice so." So immature. It turns out when speaking to my insurance they will replace the glasses multiple times until they are right. I received no apology from him, only an attitude like he was looking to argue with me. Have never been treated this rudely in my life. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. Trust the one star review on here. read more
