KINK Hair - Scabbing from pulling and scalp tension from extensions being installed too heavy

She took a look at my hair and checked out how I had been taking care of it and gave me some tips on how to untangle the existing strands. She was so laid back during my visit with her and I am loving my hair. She is by far the most open and understanding stylist I have had in many years. I dig her vibe and the relaxed atmosphere. Grace is the best!

Rather than fix it in the salon, she told me to wet and scrunch them at home. They did not improve. When I had dinner with my grandpa the next day and he saw how awful my extensions looked said my hair looked like a "mop." Everyone who saw my hair was appalled at how awful they looked. After sending photos, neither the stylist nor the owner could acknowledge the obvious problem. The owner admitted the curl pattern wasn't an exact match but offered only a perm + reinstall, no refund. I was never shown the extensions before they were ordered, and Michelle the stylist told me that she had the "perfect extensions" to match my curl pattern. On top of the wrong curl pattern, the extensions were installed too heavily for my fine hair, leaving my scalp red, irritated, and scratched by sharp adhesive edges of the k tips . Given the damage, I declined further work and still received no refund for either the hair or the installation. No one at Kink Hair salon took accountability. If you have 4A curls or tighter, please save yourself some money and go to a curly extension specialist. I ended up buying 4A clip in curly extensions myself and they look like a perfect match, proving there's no excuse for licensed cosmetologists to not be able to find the proper curl patterned hair for my extensions.

I wanted a refreshed new look, and Dominic Michael gave me exactly that and more. Booking my appointment online was super easy. They had lots of time slots to choose from. I showed up to my appointment, checked in at the counter, and not long after, Gena gave me a warm greeting. The inside of the salon is super clean and welcoming. I appreciated how the floors were constantly getting swept throughout the time I was there. I'm indecisive about most things, including my hair, but Gena was very patient with me and helped me narrow down what I want. We decided to do highlights and a haircut. I have very long hair, and I have a lot of it. Gena blew me away by her thoroughness and precision. It's clear she's an expert at what she does! She applied a gloss to my hair, then Keaton took over and finished washing my hair. She was so friendly and sweet! Then, I headed over to Olivia for my haircut and blow dry. Once again, very friendly and sweet! When I was almost finished with my haircut, I thought it was so kind how Gena came back over to see me and make sure I liked my hair. She made me feel so special! I'd been looking for a new salon for awhile now, and I'm so excited that I found this place! Can't wait for my next visit!

I quickly started to see a ton of hair loss in chunks and was quick to reach out to her. She told me it was because she took out my second row and that it should get better- It didn't. I saw a new hair stylist today and she took out all my extensions and come to find out- Nicole had cut the end of two of my extensions (i have 6 in a row) making them not reusable bc of how bad the hair was falling off. Knowing how much I paid for the extensions I couldn't understand why she would do this. It ruined my extensions that I paid SO much for and were in great condition before I saw her. Needless to say I will not be back.

If you are looking for a hair color expert in the St. Louis area, look no further than Miss…read moreLoretta, at Professional Touch (PT) Salon. Like many girls, I do not play when it comes to my tresses, so believe me when I tell you that you can trust this woman with your hair care needs. She stays up to date on current trends and is constantly improving upon her color game. I've been going to her for years (over a decade) for my color. A few years ago, I needed (wanted) fuchsia (yes, hot pink!) highlights. She put the prettiest, most fierce fuchsia color in my hair. I got compliments everywhere I went. So naturally, when DD expressed a desire for a particular shade of red locks, there was no question as to who we'd use to get the job done. We were flying home (to STL) for the holidays, so I called Loretta and she was sweet enough to squeeze us into her very hectic schedule. My DD is SO pleased with the results. Loretta was able to get the exact shade of red that DD wanted; not too bright, but not too dark. And the best part of it is that her hair is still shiny and healthy; not dull and dried out, like after some coloring treatments (elsewhere, of course). Now I want a nice shade of red for the summer. I'd better book my flight to STL, and get 'er done! I truly appreciate Loretta's professionalism and courtesy. She inspected DD's hair, let me know that a trim would be needed, and she provided me with a detailed breakdown of how much everything would cost me BEFORE doing the work. I love this! There's nothing worse than a "surprise" after the work has already been done. Furthermore, she is all about healthy hair and hair care. She will inform you of any risks associated with certain colors (like blondes), and she encourages healthy hair practices and routines. I focused on hair color, but Loretta is great with cuts and so many things. She works with all hair types too, from fine to course, natural to relaxed. There are other professionals working at PT Salon, including the owner, and everyone is always nice and welcoming. My experience, however, is only with Loretta. PT Salon is located in a strip mall with Las Palmas restaurant, west of I-170, but east of Lindbergh & Ashby, on the south side of Page Ave. I suggest calling ahead for an appointment. Hours vary by stylist.
