The eye exam went smoothly and the optometrist was nice enough. When it came to getting the glasses, it's been a disaster. First I get a call telling me the glasses would be late 7-10 business days. This is after already waiting 10 business days. When I asked if this was excessive the woman on the phone got defensive and, even though I said nothing wrong nor raised my voice, rude when I asked if that's how they perform customer service. When the glasses finally came I hated the Transition lenses. That's not their fault, I just don't like them so I asked them to swap them out which they did. The same woman that was rude on the phone was the one that swapped out the lenses. This was evening. I work days, and get out often after dark. Today, Saturday and my day off, I went out for the first time in daylight since earlier this week to discover the woman had only swapped out one lens. I have one regular lens and one transition lens. I will NEVER go here again except on Monday when I will have to take time out from work and go to the store in person since they are closed on Saturdays. Do yourself a favor and go to Blink Optical in the Polyclinic or Broadway Vision instead. read more

I recently moved to Seattle from Issaquah and tried a new eye doctor. What a terrible experience. Made an appointment and when I showed up for the appointment, they didn't have it on the books. Made a new appointment and when I showed up, they didn't have my contact brand to do a contact fitting. Had to go back for a THIRD time. Then, they mailed me the wrong contacts and wanted me to come back a FOURTH time to return them and get the right ones, which I told them I would not do. They ended up sending me the correct contacts and have some pick them up. Last error was at the appointment, I told them I had two insurance companies and they said no problem. Just found out that they will not bill my secondary and I have to go through the headache of billing my secondary. I guess I will be going back to Issaquah next time. I wanted to go to an optometrist that would work with my insurance and Visions Northwest was the closest clinic to my office. The staff were all great, particularly Manda, and I didn't have to wait long for my appointment like I've had to do at larger offices. I was in and I was out. Dr. Bird isn't charming but he is thorough and that's all that matters to me. Ordering contacts from the office was also a piece of cake because they were willing to take care of the insurance drama. I will definitely go back to this clinic for my next exam. read more

Stay away from this place. Not only are they overpriced ($500 for frames and lenses), they relentlessly tried to upsell me, and took twice as long to get my glasses as they said they would. 2 days after I got the glasses, the right arm fell off and neither of the screws holding the arms on will stay tight. They're garbage. To top it off, two months later, they called me and said that I hadn't paid the second half of my bill. This place is run by criminals at worst and idiots at best. My review only applies to buying glasses, I didn't have an exam there. Based on the rest of my experience, if I had, I would have left blind. read more

This is my first yelp post, but I promised I would leave a good review because I was so blown away at the service I received here. I was visiting from out of state and on my very first day of vacation, I had an unexpected eye emergency. I was so lucky to find Visions Northwest! The staff was incredible! They were so friendly and helpful. They made me feel very welcome and took great care of me. If I hadn't found them, the entire trip would have been ruined. I first stepped into Visions Northwest because I needed to tighten a loose screw and did not have the tools to do so (I had purchased the glasses at a different location) The staff were very helpful, repaired the glasses on the spot. Later I went back got a check up, and purchased a set of frames. Again, all were very helpful - from the prescription to making sure that I picked out the best frame for use, fit, color, and shape. Be sure you know what "progressive lenses" are all about beforehand if you are interested in those. They didn't tell me ahead of time that the area of focus could be very narrow (have to be looking almost directly at the thing you want in focus and there is something of an hourglass shape involved, be informed). I'm evidently what they call a "non-adapt", others can like them better. To their credit, they are replacing them with a normal set of glasses though it took some whining. I wasn't the easiest customer yet they were polite and professional throughout. Pretty good. read more

I came in here for an emergency pair of contact lenses after I lost my swimming in a beach that wasn't really a beach but that's not really the point. So I came to this place in about 20 minutes before they closed and they were able to provide my contact lenses to me because I luckily found the prescription in my email but not without reminding me about 20 times that they're going to close in 10 minutes I knew they were going to close in 10 minutes because the hours are listed on Google so technically they were still open but that was a big issue for them at the end of the day these people will help you and have a Contacts you need but if you show up for 10 to 15 minutes before they say they're going to close them they're really going to constantly remind you to get the fuck out of their store maybe they should consider changing their hours from 530 to 5 PM and that way people would make them upset when they show up at an appropriate time frame. Also If the optometrist has dinner plans at 6 o'clock and you show up at 5:10 he won't check your eyes for you because he really needs to get the dinner. read more

I went to Visions Northwest to buy a new pair of frames and get lenses for them with my current prescription. The frame selection is great, and that gal who helped me was nice enough. However, after I wore the glasses for 1-1/2 days, I had to leave work early because my close reading and computer vision was still blurry - and I'm an editor. The gal who sold me the pair gave me a litany of excuses: maybe it's the prescription (not - it was less that 1 year old, and I'd been wearing it with no problems in my previous frames); maybe it's the shape of the glasses (not - this is the same woman who told me the new frames would be better for my progressive prescription than the frames I was wearing, plus I'd worn that shape for 10 years, changing the lenses as needed when my prescription changed); maybe I just need to get used to them (not - I've worn progressives for about 10 years, and every time my prescription changed, I adapted within hours; I knew that after 36 hours of wear something was wrong with these lenses). Then she asked me to move the glasses up so I could look directly through the bottom of the lenses - the close-up vision was much better. So, I told her that perhaps the progressions weren't quite right in the lenses. She replied that she had no problem with redoing the lenses two or three times (why would it take so many to get it right??), but that I should just keep wearing them to see if my eyes would adjust to them. Not. I came back and was helped by Dena, who remeasured my eyes and ordered new lenses. She was very helpful, but it took me six visits to get this all resolved. This is perhaps a good place to check out frames, but you should really get the lenses elsewhere. read more
