I did splurge on new glasses since I got just "computer" glasses for work and my progressive lenses weren't working for my job as I stare directly AT a computer screen for 8 hours everyday. The customer service is now shockingly poor. Just getting the initial appointment seemed ridiculous while the person scheduling me seemed to be rolling her eyes when I had the nerve to be questioning what their latest and earliest appointments are. They are close to my house but I work close to Hillsboro which can be tricky to get to or from sometimes. Saturday appointments are not available and even regular appointments are booked out for weeks - perhaps they are so busy that they just don't care? I genuinely do not drive around during the day. I also was not aware they have half of Beaverton under construction so I was running late by about 10 minutes. The entire lobby was full of people and the person at the front had a conversation with the eye person who I think my appointment was with.... the eye person glared weirdly at me. Was it my cane? I was super confused and trying to get to the counter around all the people storming their counter. The person at the counter had wandered away, then over five minutes later they come back finally to say I was now over 15 minutes past my appointment so he would have to reschedule me? I get it if I actually was THAT late and seriously, making the appointment the first time with a person talking down to me was already challenging weeks before but this just seemed like they overbooked and were finding an excuse to just get rid of me. Initially J went for vision treatment after a TBi and the treatment I received was outstanding! So, I decided to go back there a few years later when I needed new prescription for glasses, even though it's a bit of a distance. No regrets! I feel like every person in the office, not just Dr Detmer -Stone, who is fabulous, took great care of me and were highly professional! Now, I went to pick up my new glasses. I asked the technician if she would clean my old glasses because they had so much dirt and grime on them. I don't think she was thrilled with the idea and asked if I meant to take the lens out and I said "yes". She did it and cleaned them so nicely. Now that's service!! Compared to others in our region, they handle administrative tasks in a way that is better, despite being a small office. The admin team can make mistakes and be snippy at times, but that is the case in any medical office. We're all human. I'm fine as long as we can get things done and they are open to direct communication with me so that we can work together to get what needs to be done, done. Rose Stone is a gem where care is individualized and it's clear that she is directing your treatment. I am grateful to have her as part of my care team.

I went here a couple years ago referred here by my doctor. I was complaining about double vision…read moreand not being able to read words it was blurry and I was seeing double. I was given prism glasses for long vision. Then this year I was referred here again and I spoke to the office lady and she was insistent that I had to call my insurance company to get a code but when I spoke to my insurance company they said she had to call the insurance company and she refused to call the insurance Company then I called the doctors office and the insurance company even called her and left her a message but she refused to call them back! It was a huge ordeal and wasted huge amounts of time!! So my other doctor sent a referral to his hospital specialist and it took several months to get in and see that eye doctor. Then that eye doctor sent me to another eye specialist!! And I just saw that specialist on Friday and he said I had one of the most complicated cases he had ever seen!! So it was a good thing that I wasn't seen by this place because they couldn't handle my double vision here and they only gave me long distance glasses her the other place has given me reading glasses and long distance glasses has figured out why I'm having double vision and blurry vision!!! I've not been working alot during Covid and really just needed my old glasses and frames fixed. Besides my pair were so out of date, Dr. D took 40 minutes if his time to rebuild my 5yo frame and temples, bringing new life to my glasses, saving me hundreds of dollars. His office easily took my insurance for my new prescription. Glad to hear that Dr. D is finally moving to a more modern office in Beaverton, they deserve it!
