i spend $600 for contact lenses that they recomend, it was foggy and almost cause me to get into accident while driving. and they refused to help me exchange them and keep on mentioning about their 3 month return policy. I work nearby and I ended up using my lunch to come and get glasses and during my visit the doctor who looked at my eyes, was very professional, and he was comical, which made the visit feel like home. Downside is the front desk older lady with short hair, I didn't catch her name, was huffing and puffing anytime I or anyone asked her a question, was very rude to customers on the phone in front of me and as soon as she got off the phone with customers, she sat here and was mumbling under her breath. Other employees in the front were very loud and disruptive. My wife went to get glasses a few ago, and I referred this place disregarding my experience and on her arrival the same older lady was disrespectful to her to the point that I almost came to the store to talk to a manager, luckily my wife talked me into not doing so. Then last week my manager ended up coming to the same store and had a bad experience, personnel was snappy, employees were goofing around talking to each other, telling each other stories and the same lady gave her an issue also. No one followed procedure and what they're were supposed to do and get the name of the customer and phone number from my manager. They just ended up submitting an order without confirming any information with her. I will be finding out this ladies name and giving another review! I DO NOT RECOMMEND VISITING THIS LOCATION! Let me say that every single time my family and I have to get our eyes examined, we are always greeted with smiles. Tammi (I think that's how her name is spelled) is one of the kindest women I had ever met. And as last year the optometrist we saw was Dr. Ahmad. He is always so kind and knowledgeable. This year we had to take my youngest granddaughter and she did so well because he was kind and gentle. He was so patient with her making her first eye exam fantastic. And to make it better, she did not need glasses! Then Mitzy is the young lady who took care of helping us find the right glasses and made sure things were in order. He smiled and our "small" talk was a bonus. She is knowledgeable and just flat out kind! Since it's the end of the year and everyone is trying to get their glasses before the insurance changes into the new year, they were very busy but the staff took their time and did a great job. Also it will take a little longer to get our glasses but I don't care about that part. I don't understand the negative comments. I think they're all great! read more

I have gone to Vision Works for over 12 years Even got my first set of glass there. My complaint is that my last 2 sets of glasses have lasted less than a year each . Both pair of glasses have got what they call " Stress fractures " in the glass part of the lense The first pair started in the corner by the arm And continue across to the center over time I called and ask them about it and they said I probably put a sprain on the arm . Now 1 year later I have a new pair of glasses and they have a Crack from the top of the lense down the center and theses are NOT cheap lenses . All went well after I was FINALLY ACKNOWLEDGED 10 minutes after entering!! Walked in and went straight up to the Customer Service desk. The lady working it was on the phone with an Insurance provider, and seemed to be having difficulty. There were 2-3 other employees that didn't appear to be busy at the moment, but yet no one GREETED me, said "Welcome, or we will be with you in a moment." ‍ I patiently waited and after being acknowledged, told the girl I had an appointment for eye exam. She directed me to the exam waiting area and I was asked if I could be helped. Stated I was there for scheduled exam, and was asked if I had checked in up front! Told her I was directed to come back to this area, then was told I needed to go back up front and CHECK IN! I had already attempted that. Sooooo, I went to the front AGAIN, and told person I needed to check in. At that point, Tammi, who seemed to be the only other person busy up front when I entered, cordially helped me to check in and asked me to wait in exam area. Of course she was the most Senior person in the store, and undoubtedly knows a bit about customer service. All of the other employees were Millennials, and apparently could use some training. I could understand if they were busy, but there appeared to only be 2 other customers in the outer area, and one of them was asleep. So obviously he had been waiting for awhile. After waiting for a few minutes I was greeted by a nice lady who started my exam. She was very pleasant, as was Dr. McFadden!! And the young man who assisted me in ordering my glasses, Joshua, did a good job! I would recommend this business to others, but maybe suggest a little more emphasis be put on greeting customers promptly. It's nice to feel Appreciated when you are spending a great deal of $$$ in a short period of time. read more

I have used this place for 2 years and loved it, but I don't think I'll come back to this particular location. Upon arrival the person at the front desk was friendly but then immediately seemed like I was a bother even though I had an appointment. When I mentioned my insurance he huffed and puffed for a solid 5-10 minutes while checking me in. My mistake here was that I didn't know that my insurance needed to be verified before usage and since it was a Saturday they were closed. However I don't believe that warranted the receptionist to treat me like I was ruining everyone's day. read more

So happy with the customer service and the eye exam. The minute I walked in they were friendly and very efficient. I have been to the other Visionworks in Hamburg pavilion and was so upset with there service I wanted to try another location. I'm so glad I did! Imani who helped me find the right glasses and worked with me was friendly and made me feel comfortable with my choices. This was a hassle free visit. The eye doctor was knowledgeable and really listened to my eye concerns. I want to thank the staff for making this a stress free Saturday. I went to Visionworks today for a "scheduled" appointment at 3:15. Upon arrival, and letting them know I had an appt., they let me know that there were 20 people in front of me, 20!!! I asked to speak to the manager and he said that it would be at least 2 hours before I would be seen. I asked if all of these people had scheduled appt.s and he said yes. His rational was that "it is not unusual to wait at a doctors office for 2 hours, haven't you had that happen to you?" I said no, I never waited for a Dr. for 2 hours when I had an appt. The manager did admit that they are forced to double book appt.s by "corporate" no matter how many people come in. He also laughed when I suggested they call their appt.s when they are running really late. He said "we are too busy to do that." My advise is go there at your own risk and bring War and Peace to read if you decide to stay. read more

This place used to be Dr. Bizers and it's pretty much the same exact as Dr. Bizers was, just a name change. They still have the dollar eye exams every year from December 1-24th. Now you know the real reason that I come here. I love that they now offer appointments, instead of the first come, first serve basis. My appointment this year was at 3:00pm on a Saturday. I arrived at 2:45 and I was literally in and out in thirty minutes. Because my LASIK warranty depends on a yearly exam, I find myself here every December. I take my daughter here for contacts too though. Just like with any other optometrist, the exam for contacts is different than the basic exam and it's only "good" for a certain time. So what I do is note the date that the exam expires, mark my calendar a bit before that date and check on her stash. If she's low on contacts, I order up. Rules are rules people, if you don't like them, find a way around them. This place fits my needs and budget. See y'all again next December! read more

I switched to visionworks about 2 years ago and for a national chain I've been very impressed. They are friendly and fast every time that I have been in. I had just come back for my yearly check and the doctor that I saw remembered a lot about me(personal, not eyes) that is great costumer service. I get contacts which the pricing through them is a little more then what you can get online and do but using insurance is a lot easier with them. They also look as though they have a good selection of glasses. So if your looking for just a quick eye exam I would diffidently recommend. read more

My eyewear shattered beyond repair while on a trip in Lexington so it was somewhat of an emergency to get them repaired before flying out. I didn't expect to get them done in one day, so I entertained getting them before Monday morning at the latest (flight departing that night). I called around. First place didn't take my insurance, next had no availability (Friday before Easter). Finally Visionworks took my insurance and could accommodate an eye exam (had been two years since my last) within the hour. I was super impressed. The team here was super quick and Shannon, the manager, was really cool and helped me find a few frames. Prep for the frames only took a day, which was crucial and probably the best part. I was sure it would take much longer. I actually bought an additional set and they're being shipped to my home in NYC. Nice work, Visionworks! BTW: I declined the dilation-replacement machine thing and was annoyed that tried forcing it on me, but hey. Whatever. I got my glasses. read more

The doctor was rude, I was prepared for the wait as I used to frequent dr. Bizer's. This place was listed first on my provider's page for my insurance. Well you can tell it's a chain and I will say it's not for lack of effort that results in the wait because before I could even try to read one row of words I was in and out of his office. I'm not sure my prescription is all that accurate and would have been nice to be treated like I was cared about. I haven't had my eyes dilated in years and that wasn't even mentioned. So how are my eyes really and did he even look at the test completed. Update: I sent a message and nothing, also it's def the wrong prescription I can't see well at all. Update 8/1: Came in saw a different doctor and he had a completely different attitude and I actually enjoyed the experience. Having to have my glasses remade. Which I'm glad because I actually cannot see. They were more than willing to help me out. Interested to see where I was contacted back by the business through Yelp! Paid over $500 for glasses that last less then a year. Bought in 2016, less then a year later in May 2017 they broke. Had warranty so they got fixed. I would give no stars if I could. Purchased two pair of glasses one was regular glasses. The second were sun glasses. Went in on 8/6/2017. It took almost 2 months to get my glasses. They told me they would be ready in 2 weeks. First they said they put the wrong prescription in them and sent them back then they said they lost the frames shipping them to Texas to get the lenses. Then they said the hurricane delayed them. Then when I finally get them they are in the wrong frame with the wrong prescription. So we send them back again. All the while its my fault that I cant see out of them. They tell me to wear them a couple of weeks I still cant see out of them. They take them again put them in the red frames again after I said they were still the wrong frames. So in December I finally gave up. I still can use the glasses and I'am out $300. So if you can go somewhere else I would. read more

I had an appointment with Dr. Bui, who I've seen and liked. After an hour, I found out that he wasn't there, they had only one optometrist on, and they were running an hour and a half behind. No one said a thing. A lady and her elderly mother had waited that long, and have up. Poor customer service; keep people informed, give them a chance to reschedule - don't just leave them hanging. Time frame kept changing on when my glasses would be ready. Outside lab is not under their control I know but they NOT ONCE notified me (even though they claimed they did)and they also kept changing the information they gave me and stating that the prior information was wrong. Good customer service and proper information is well within their control and something they could stand to improve. I saw the mixed reviews online and decided to give them a try. Well I will say they were kind while I was there but since then.... Garbage. Let's just hope I actually get my glasses and I don't have to repeat this lesson learned mistake. read more

The front desk woman clearly needed help and finally asked for it; she took a long time to even get me checked in and insurance ran. The manager definitely isn't doing his part. I had a regular exam appointment and was there for almost 3 hours. They should offer appointments only or walk ins only. Pick one.. I stayed so long only for a chance to see Dr. Spear again. I visited this location today because my eye Dr was closed and I wanted more glasses because mine were scratched. I had to get a eye exam first. My left eye has always been weak due to a medical condition that I've had since a kid my vision has been the exact same all of the years. All of my previous prescriptions over the years were all the same but after my Miracle visit today to see Dr Patel my left eye has gotten better and now has the same prescription as my right eye as happy as I would be for this to be true it is not physically possible without me having an eye transplant if that's even possible. I'm very disappointed in this and didn't catch her mistake until I left but I will be returning for a refund at 9am tomorrow and going to my own Dr. read more

I went into Vision Works yesterday to buy a pair of computer glasses. I chatted with two young ladies at one of the check-in desks then they ignored me for 20 minutes. They had plenty of staff and weren't particularly busy. Finally I left. Glad I did, I came home and found comparable glasses at an online optical company for a fraction of the cost. read more

selection of frames is best I've seen in Lexington, but don't expect much else. many employees milling about blaring music-2 customers in the store vs 10 employees and they were still incredibly slow with service. Gabriel is great, but she started helping someone else and the other employees were fighting over who had to wait on me. they interrupt each other constantly to the point I was ready to leave if they didn't stop with the unnecessary interruptions-. the guy who apparently is in charge walks around and watched all this as if it were normal. I'll probably be back for the selection but I'll block half a day for their ridiculously slow service and probably take a valium to deal with their obnoxious attitudes. to the 2 big girls, one white one black, get over yourselves and stop looking down on customers. Awful. I walked in without an appointment after discovering my old optometrist didn't accept my new insurance. On the plus side, the staff was friendly and got me in quickly. HOWEVER: 1. The doctor seriously overcorrected one of my eyes. He claimed it would adjust quickly, but after a two-week trial period my vision was still noticeably off. 2. More seriously, he sent me home with a prescription for Visionworks' own "exclusive" store brand instead of the old kind I was happy with. The store brand, of course, can only be purchased through them at whatever price they decide to charge, which turned out to be 3x what I had been paying before. The prescription has "NO SUBSTITUTIONS" printed at the top to keep people from seeking a cheaper alternative online. 3. Upon closer inspection, since the store brand only comes in one size, he gave me 8.6 even though I've always worn 8.2 before. Apparently it's more important to make money than to ensure your clients' contacts actually fit. BOTTOM LINE: I would've been better off paying for the optometrist out of pocket and getting contacts that fit comfortably and cost less. I will never go back. read more
