Horrible referral coordination system. My parent is a former client there. He received in home…read morenursing support In 2024. He improved & his case was closed. A new issue arose (regarding wound care) & his doctor sent a referral for in home nursing again. We waited for a call, with no response, so the doctor sent in another referral. Still no response from them to schedule. My father called CarePartners directly, with referral services noting that they no longer have the staff to work in Fairview, NC. That is fine, staffing is an issue. However, how can a medical provider (of essential home based services to an elderly individual), not call (after 2 MD referrals), to say "I am sorry, we don't have the staff to provide in home nursing support in your area currently"? If you can get care from CarePartners that's great. But, they don't seem to do any follow up outreach (while needy patients are waiting) to tell you they don't have the staff.

Care Partners supplies medical equipment to Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. I received a large bill for two prosthetic devices that I thought would be covered under my insurance as I broke my ankle and had been out of network. I had to call several times to get them to bill my insurance, and when I called, they noted that they hadn't received that information. After several tries, they did forward to my insurance, who unfortunately did not cover the items, despite the fact that I had received them in an emergency situation. I questioned the bill because I couldn't believe I was charged $145 for a $14.50 device, and they showed absolutely no compassion, instead charged me the full price and wouldn't budge. They kept focusing on the financial agreement that I had signed in my doctor's office when I was in pain from a broken ankle. I explained my frustration about the medical industry and the lack of access to affordable health care and asked for a discount, since I would be paying cash and I was currently not working. They threatened to hang up on me and so I finally caved in and paid the bill in full, again being taken advantage of by a health care system that has no interest in providing affordable services to those out of work. I feel terrible that I was forced to pay this bill, because otherwise, they would have sent it to a collection agency.

There simply are no words that are adequate to give Carolina Reserve at Hendersonville enough…read morecredit for all they have done for our mother in her last years. Thank you so much. Our story started in the early days of covid 19. Our mother had rapidly declined in the months leading up to the pandemic and a discussion had been on going to try to do the best for her health and safety for a few years. She had started to wonder and had suffered a number of falls while at home, being confused and only wanting to sleep all day and wonder all night. This was exhausting for our elderly father. At this early stage of the pandemic, getting an elderly person into an assisted living facility was difficult at best and impossible in most cases. Mother's doctor suggested Carolina Reserve of Hendersonville (CRH) as a good option, if they would be willing to admit a new resident during the pandemic. After a number of phone discussions, an agreement was made that CHR staff would be sent to evaluate if they would be able to adequately care for her in the pandemic. A residence director and a facility nurse arrived and after a physical and a medical evaluation, lots of questions and a long discussion, together we made the difficult decision that our mother would do best at CRH; they had one bedroom available. We had to agree that mom would be required to be isolated for 30 days; no visitors, only phone calls and talking through the bedroom closed window. Looking back, I think mom actually enjoyed this time. They gave her a wide selection of food and drink, TV and music. It was likely more emotionally difficult on our dad, but discision had to be made. CRH worked closely with the doctor and nurse practitioner to stabilize Mom's medications, routine, diet, activities and socialization with the other residents. While she still needed the professional help of the facility, we were finally comfortable that she was safe and well cared for. Mom stayed at CRH for 5 years. During that time she received consistent high quality of care from a staff that is dedicated to loving each resident and their families, even when it must have been difficult for them. During this time, I was assigned a staff member, as a single point of contact for everything related to mom's care and I would receive calls periodically for updates and a touch base. These calls were invaluable. During the terrible flood from Hurricane Helene, some staff spent multiple days on site to cover for staff who could not manage to get through the devastation to work. This at times, meant that they had to ignore what was happening to their own homes and families to care for their residents. Just like the police and fire/medical responders, the staff at CRH were there, not complaining, but doing their jobs. There are no words to describe this level of kindness and commitment. As with all living things, the end was inevitable and mom passed last month, peacefully, napping in her favorite chair. It was a painful blessing, but she was surrounded by loving staff. Carolina Reserve at Hendersonville had prepared us for this day years before, by documenting our wishes for this moment. We received a loving kind call with the sad news. and the plan was put in action with predefined precision. The correct mortuary, was contacted, the hospital for the correct procedures and documentation and an offer from CRH for anything we needed. I flew to Hendersonville to finalize the business of dying and I dropped by CRH to collect a few of mom's belongings and to say thank you. I received hugs from every staff member, some in tears, and even received calls from staff who had left CHR for other opportunities. This still makes me emotional; such kindness is so rare in today's dollar and cents corporate world. I am sure that other assisted living facilities are also committed to their residents, but i am unaware of any facility that even attempts to do a better job than Carolina Reserve at Hendersonville. With kind and respectful gratitude. John

Mom's primary doctor recommended that we consider Carolina Reserve at Hendersonville as one of the best. After a lot of research, we reluctantly reached out for help. Mom has been at CRH for 5 days and it has been a huge relief and a gift given us with their loving care provided to our mom. The entire staff is caring and accommodating. They have a philosophy that all the residence are their family and it shows everyday, all day. In the five days mom has been there she has been working with PT to get her able to walk with a walker confidently. The entire staff work with mom on memory strengthening skills and independence. Mom has even admitted that she like her new home albeit not her real home. Thank you to all the staff at Carolina Reserve at Hendersonville. I know with confidence that this isn't just a job, this is your passion.

For my last pregnancy, I went with a different company (as suggested by my insurance) and it was a bit more involved. That company also did not plan to send out the pump until closer to my due date. Unfortunately, my son arrived 6 weeks early. The company had to rush order my pump, but in the meantime, I had to rent one at a cost to me. I knew I wanted the Spectra S1 this time simply due to it having the battery pack feature. I understood there would be an upcharge. I was able to pay it online using my credit card. I filled out a brief online form on Aeroflow's website, received a confirmation email shortly thereafter, and then received an email correspondence (and phone call) from a rep, Dana, the next day. It was simply to say that they were awaiting an Rx from my midwife's office. Aeroflow took care of EVERYTHING. I didn't talk to the rep once. I received a tracking # via email. My pump arrived today - 10 days (including weekends and the Thanksgiving holiday) after I filled out the form online! It also arrived 1 day earlier than projected AND on the day we had a blizzard warning/closed schools and businesses of all things. Pretty awesome! I'm not due for another 14 weeks, and I'm relieved that I have my new pump well before my due date! I highly recommend Aeroflow for ordering breast pumps!

I was also told by my insurance company that they would pay the full amount on a machine and told Aeroflow to bill the whole amount and they would get paid. Do not do business with them unless you like chasing companies for what you want. I don't have time
