This company hires the absolute worst possible caregivers. Everyone has a severe lack of professionalism. Expect a Frustrating experience with a revolving door of staff and many excuses made for why care givers don't show up. This business is irresponsible at best. They have a labor shortage and even a more severe shortage of people telling the truth. Their expertise on False narratives and excuses for why they could not perform is second only to liar's anonymous. PS, the board of directors will be noticed about the ill handling by this franchise. We have been using Visiting Angels for about 4 years now. They are great. My wife has dementia and our caregiver, Mary is kind and patient with her. She helps her a lot with things that I can't do. This is one of the worst care giving services of all time! Some of the franchisees may do well, but for the TV advertising, be careful! I would NEVER recommend this service unless you have a considerable amount of money for extremely poor service. If you have this service for someone...have someone watch that service often and unexpectedly. The caregivers can lie on their application and when the agency "matches" them ... it is not what you receive when that person appears. Please, please, please, be careful. This is one joke of a franchise. They miss meetings to set up service they don't make callbacks they take excessively long vacations. The owner of this agency was gone for one week to a conference and then went out of the country for God knows how long. When he leaves he has no one with any competence to run his business all of the recent reviews are negative and I would recommend running as far away as you can from this organization. CONTINUATION OF REVIEW..... 6. VA employees should know that interacting with multiple members of a clients family requires some degree of reasonable manners. Speaking to either a client or their family members and using foul language is never to be tolerated. I have witnessed this discrepancy. 7. VA employees have neither the training or expertise to assist a client in dispensing the client's medication. While it may be appropriate for an assistant to retrieve medication or remind a client to take a medication, helping the client open, dispense and/or consume medications is inexcusable. 8. Within the boundaries of all the services VA employees are allowed to provide, individual employees should not be informing clients that they will handle only a subset of tasks that they find palatable. As an example, telling a client "I'll handle your transport and appts or shopping, the other girls will do the cleaning." 9. On Saturday Aug 06, 2022, I had arrived at my fathers house at his request. He asked me to help him read and understand his primary checking account statement. As I was explaining to my dad the hazards of leaving a large amount of money in a checking account accessible using either his hard copy checks or debit card (both items security compromised by VA employee's, see item #2 above), and the benefits of moving the bulk of his money to a more secure and less accessible savings account, the VA employee for that day entered the home through a locked door without knocking. This employee entered my dad's office uninvited and was clearly aware that we were having a private discussion. The VA employee continued to stand in the office space listening until I realized the assistant had no intention of leaving. I stopped talking and my father started explaining to the assistant what we were discussing. I immediately interrupted and told my father that none of his financial decisions were the business of the assistant, who continued to remain in the office space. My father then stopped talking and I had to instruct the VA employee to leave the office. As my father and I were preparing to resume our discussion, my dad excused himself and went to the kitchen. I found him there several minutes later explaining my financial advice to the VA employee. At no time did the VA employee instruct my father to cease informing her of his financial plan or attempt to withdraw politely from the conversation. I asked the VA employee to leave and my father dismissed the assistant for the day and we resumed our conversation in private. After a brief discussion my father agreed that a new savings account not linked to his debit card and accessible only to him and his designated POA official was not only appropriate but prudent. On August 09, 2022, as we were preparing to go to the bank to open his new savings account he informed me that we would not need to go to the bank as he had discussed the mater with his "Angel" from the 6th, and that he felt the money was safe where it was and that the VA employee agreed. It's unfortunate that VA employees have willfully and demonstrably violated the rules that Visiting Angels have put in place to protect themselves and the client. I wonder how many of the above listed issues are expressly forbidden in the Visiting Angels corporate and/or franchise standard operating procedures and employee guide book? I've omitted the particular VA employee's names from the above issues as I believe that if you choose to take this matter seriously, you're likely to have little trouble determining which VA employees have violated corporate guidelines. read more

My request was for care of my mother for a total of 9 days, Tuesday thru Friday, week one and Monday thru Friday week 2. The first 7 days we had 4 different caregivers, this is bad enough on it's own laurels, but for a dementia patient it is a disgrace. Medical professionals, care providers with minimal training know consistency is extremely necessary for this group of patients. Did I mention that one of the care providers complained to the patient that her back hurt, I guess that was the excuse for not bathing, feeding or reminding her to take medications. Really AWFUL home health care, which my partner and I didn't even choose. They were chosen for us by a hospital. The nurse couldn't even do the banging for the woundvac - couldn't get a seal, and pretended like he knew what he was doing. When he couldn't get a good seal with the bandage, he just said "oh well," and left. He was arrogant and treated me like his unpaid assistant. Stay away! read more

So we seen the add for Visiting Angels on T.V. Looked like a great place that would be able to help with my 82yr old grandpa while my was also sick at the time.. so we set up appointment someone came out to our house, talked to the family about what Visiting Angels had to offer. And we decided we would try it out for a week. The following Monday someone came out, wasn't in uniform.. didn't have a name tag, or anything like that showing what company he worked for. The man was very nice. But his appearance wasn't the greatest.. so we got a weird vibe off that.. he finished the week off.. now mind you we paid for a week of service. Well visiting angels sent us a few bills by mail. Paid the first one.. then we received yet another bill a few days after saying we owed more money, called and talked to someone about it. They said to ignore it and not to pay it. That we were paid and didn't need to pay anymore. So basically disregard the invoice. Welp guess what we received yet ANOTHER invoice stating that we owed MORE money for services.. called and talked to someone again. And they honestly didn't know what to say. Told them that we paid for 1 week of service. Which we paid for when they came out and talked to us about visiting angels. This place is a joke!! I chose this agency based on the reviews, the TV ads and website information. I moved from California to Nevada at the end of September. Prior to that, I contacted the owner, Michael, in August and spoke with him personally. We spoke a couple times regarding my needs and he assured me that his agency could take care of me. I filled out all of the paperwork in advance and set up a initial meeting for when I came to Las Vegas. The paperwork forms included all of the specific care needs which I require. The initial meeting with the representative went very well. He was very well dressed with the Visiting Angels shirt and appropriate identification. He came and assessed my home environment, met me of course, and was advised of all my care needs and shown everything that I needed in my home for my care. He also assured me that his agency could take care of everything that I needed. I was given an initial introduction with a caregiver a few days later. The person who showed up was totally in capable of taking care of me. The person was 70 years old and hunched over. I need physical care and they were very well aware of that. I sent her home. My care needs started the next day, and I was sent somebody else and just hoped for the best. I need care twice a day, in the morning and in the evening. The morning person was working out fine, however she quit after two weeks to leave the state. The evening person was quite another story. I went through three in three days. These people looked like they came from the homeless shelter. Not one had on a uniform or scrubs and their hygiene left a lot to be desired. I requested a non-smoker and a few of them reeked of smoke. Only one of them was actually able to complete the job successfully. Throughout the month, I had to deal with people leaving the company, no-shows, people going out of town for days on end and having no caregivers due to caregiver injuries at other clients. I ended up hiring privately to handle most of the days that I needed, however I still needed Visiting Angels to fill in the gaps. There is so much miscommunication amongst the caregivers and the staff. I am sent I am sent on-call caregivers that have no clue what they need to do and are not qualified to do the job. Some days I am left without a caregiver at all and have to spend the day in bed. Two weeks into my time with this agency, my husband and I had a conversation with the owner regarding the situation. My care coordinator was changed from Hope to Britney. Nothing changed in my opinion. Today was the last straw and I told them I was done with them. My nighttime caregiver was a no-show earlier this week. I called them after she was a half an hour late and they told me that they just found out that she hurt herself and would not be coming in. She was also my daytime caregiver for the next day, so I was left without a caregiver that night or the next morning. I had to spend the day in bed again. I knew from a previous experience that anybody they get at the last minute will more than likely not be able to do the job. For the following day they sent a caregiver for me to meet to see if she would work the next night. I interviewed her and thought she would be OK until my regular caregiver got back. However she did tell me that she could not work that night and was unavailable for the dayshift as well which I needed since my regular caregiver was out injured. The miscommunication is unacceptable. They found me a replacement who they claimed would be just perfect for me. When she showed up it turns out she was far from right. She could not perform the basic duties and was sweating profusely. She came in smelling like marijuana. I sent her home early. I complained to my Care Coordinator and another member of the staff regarding the situation. I found out that they do not drug test their employees. They no longer will let me speak to Michael, the owner, when I ask to speak with him. He no longer wants to talk to me now that I'm not at a new potential customer. I just now got a phone call saying that my situation needs to be assessed on Monday in lieu of them sending me a another caregiver since my normal caregiver is still out injured. This is totally unacceptable. I signed a contract and gave them a large deposit upfront. They were very aware of my situation upfront and also when we had the initial meeting at my home where everything was explained to them by my caregiver who flew from California to be with me the first week. Apparently it is my fault that their caregivers are not trained well enough or capable of doing the jobs they are supposed to do. I told them I'm done with them. Never consider using this agency. So I don't know about other locations but this location has the worse caregivers I have ever seen. Ida is the lady's name. You never want this lady anywhere near your loved one. She doesn't care anything about her patients. All she cares about is money. She also drives for Uber and is always late every night to take care of my 91 year old grandma with Dementia. Ida fights with her every morning for no good reason at all. My grandma might not remember a lot but she remembers not liking this lady everyday. Please if you care anything for your loved ones don't let this lady in your house. She shouldn't be allowed anywhere near old people or children ever!!!!. read more

Did my research, so many positive reviews. Spoke with rep on the phone, information sounded great, so I decided to have a rep come to my home to explain more about services for my father. Arranged for 2 hours a day, 2 x a day, to cover lunch and dinner for him. I was out of town so each day before each visit I called my father to remind him someone was to arrive for lunch and then again for dinner. First day worked fine, she arrived half hour early for lunch but left 20 minutes early at dinner (overall met full time agreed upon although it was for the day and not for each 2 hour visit). Second day, caregiver arrives for lunch late and leaves early. Dinner caregiver NEVER arrived! My father was walking in and out our front door looking for them because he was getting hungry. I had to call someone else to make arrangements for him to get dinner that night. Next four days, caregiver arrives for lunch late and leaves early. I have cameras in front of my house and at my front door as proof. (I cancelled the dinner caregiver when they didn't arrive that first night and had to impose on others to make sure my father had dinner each evening!) When I called to talk about the shorted times, I was told I would get a call back after the time sheets from the caregiver were turned in (2 days from when I called). Five days after that, still no call. So I called them back. It was explained to me that they "round" the time in 15 minute increments. In this case, I would be refunded 1.5 hours, but in reality the caregiver shorted our time by 2+ hours. I agreed on their rounding for one of the days and subsequently was told they would refund 2 hours to me. Now I asked when I would be given credit back on the credit card used for payment and was told "we send checks as refunds". I told her you charged my credit card for payment, I expect a refund back on that same credit card. Waiting on them to mail a check was unacceptable. when a credit card it used. They finally agreed to credit the credit card (I know it can be done!) and I cancelled my service agreement with them. Also asked for the deposit to be refunded due to my cancelling the agreement and that I expect it to be credited to my credit card. I did arrange this service in a 2 day period for going out of town for a week when my primary plans didn't work out due to an emergency. So I was glad I had found a solution, but I was sadly disappointed after all of this. For a service I thought may be able to provide me with some relief in the future as an 'as needed' service, I won't be using Visiting Angels because my experience shows they cannot be relied on. read more

I have used Visiting Angels on two different occasions for my mom, who is now 91. Both times, I have found the staff and administrators to be friendly and accommodating to our needs and top-notch. We did have an issue with one care giver's care on one day, and one day only, but that was dealt with quickly and without further upset to my mom's routine. Overall, they have been great. read more

My mother has been using Visiting Angels for almost two years now and its really been a huge help. My wife and I work during the day so its nice knowing we have someone stopping by mid day just to check with her and make sure shes taken her medicine and eating healthy meals. The service was recommended by a neighbor, we live in the Anthem area and it seems like they help many others in our surrounding neighborhoods.
