Many athletes worked hard but were overlooked unless they were one of the coach's clear favorites. Even basic encouragement, like a simple "good job" was not given to everyone. Instead, praise was reserved for a select few, leaving others feeling unvalued despite their efforts. When I respectfully addressed this even as an alum, I was met with a hostile response and completely shut out. I had hoped for reflection and respect, but instead received defensiveness and dismissal. This is not the example of leadership or character that a youth program should be built upon. A coach who discourages hard-working athletes, fails to recognize everyone equally, and responds to concerns with hostility should not be in a position of guiding young people. Leadership should inspire, not divide. At one meet, after a mile time trial where I struggled badly and was visibly upset, I heard him say, "I am so proud of you guys." I asked, "Are you sure about that?" because it felt insincere given the lack of encouragement many of us experienced. In a race in Hawaii, while I was in tears and trying to reach my parents, I was told, "I don't care, cheer on your teammates please." That moment made it clear how little empathy and support was being offered to athletes who were not among his favorites. Please see attached for records

GO PANTHERS! Growing…read moreup in Palos Verdes is an experience all in its own. All the pricey oversized homes, luxury sedans and SUVs, and designer labels are enough to blind a person, but I'm not complaining. I'm not one of those people that wants to go back and re-live high school by any means... believe me, four years were enough. But I did have some of the best teachers here, and after switching counselors, some great help with all that stressful college business. There was a club for any and all interests that a living person could have, a sport team for virtually every sport in existence, and national awards and recognitions enough to put other high schools to shame. I really don't have any college pride, but I'm proud to be a PVPHS alumni.

I started to peruse my dream of a Photographer/Videographer at one of the classes offered. All core classes are very well organized and equipped with GREAT teachers, in most cases. Talking about teachers, not ALL of them are the best. I went through some teachers, not pointing names out, who were just... so bad that they deserve to get fired. There were 2 of them. That is a pretty low amount! One of them got fired this year, so there is only one more to go. That one teacher who is still left has a very low temper. He WILL curse out students outside. Looking at the bright side, this school's staff is mostly all nice. Counselors are great, principals are VERY understanding. I recently got in a little trouble for being at the wrong place at the wrong time. I will not go too deep into it, but I ended up getting suspended for a stupid reason. But now that I look back to it, I think he did the right choice. The lunch area is pretty convenient. Tabled are offered to every student, a snack bar is available, and they serve not the best lunches, but they are still acceptable. The lower fields are all available to students during break. Sports equipment is leased to students. Overall, I think this is the best choice of Intermediate school in Palos Verdes over Miralest and PVIS.

This is located on the campus of Redondo Union High School. RAMONA is such a wonderful person. Very polite, helpful and professional. We've known her for the many years we've enrolled in the Summer Swimming Lessons for Kids. The staff, during the Summer, I suspect and assume are qualified lifeguard caliber student employees. They've all been very good with the children/kids they teach as student swimmers. The front gate staff are always very welcoming and cheerful. It's an overall great environment that Ramona has created for the Aquatic Center. Weekend swimming, when open to the public is well organized. The clientele (customer) patron swimmers have been respectful and polite using the facilities, such as sharing lanes. Parking can be both easy and challenging depending on whatever activities are going on on-campus, whether sports games, rally/gatherings or anything else. It's a family friendly environment.

When I was given a tour four years ago, I knew what questions to ask regarding the curriculum and was impressed by the rigor, the class sizes, and the feel of community. So I decided to make the investment and move my son from a nearby public school to Rolling Hills Country Day School. One of the reasons was my son was diagnosed with moderate ADD and I knew he needed more personal attention and would thrive in a smaller school setting. It was the best decision! I do admit it took him a few months to get acclimated due to the academic rigor because the standards were different at his previous school. However, I loved it so much that a year later, I transferred my daughter there and now my third child attends RHCDS! I wish my kids could personally write a review. They absolutely love their school. They are eager to get to school early to play on the field before class! This school offers them a place where they feel safe and genuinly cared for. They not only have the academic rigor that in today's society is imperative, but they also prioritize in teaching values. Be a kind human is their motto and they definitely instill this on a daily basis. Learning and living by these values is what a child needs to thrive and be happy so they can focus in school. My son is now in middle school (upper school) and I know he will no doubt be prepared for any top rated high school. They focus on giving back to the community, character/values, teach independence, all the while really preparing these kids for high school. This school truly offers a fine balance. They have specialized teachers for various subjects, including technology. They also focus on presentation skills and even my little 7 year old has presented in front of the lower school! This is such an important communication skill that is disregarded in many elementary schools. I have also made amazing friends at RHCDS and I truly feel I am part of a family, or small community, even though I am a working mom and am not able to be there as much as I would like. I know my kids are cared for, safe, happy, challenged academically, and taught the same values that I teach at home. RHCDS is truly one of a kind and am so grateful to be a part of it.

We have been treated like family over the years - our children feel safe and known by their teachers and any questions or requests to the administration or teachers have been promptly and thoughtfully addressed. Our oldest child and middle school graduate, who now attends public high school, feels like she was well prepared academically and personally by teachers who challenged her to think critically and by expectations to be kind and respectful. There is obviously no perfect school and we are grateful to have found a school that aligns with our values!

We love watching our kids actually moving their bodies and working out. They plead to go to afterschool camp every day. The class sizes are amazing. There are assistant teachers in each classroom. If a student needs more assistance they can easily get it, instead of struggling alone. Dr. Chun is an amazing Principal and runs the school like a well oiled machine. We wasted a year of tuition and our child's time and would NEVER recommend this school for children who are not special needs or have other socialization issues.
