I contacted a number of landscapers, met with several and requested proposals from 3 of them. RScapes was by far the most responsive and engaged in coming up with a specific plan and working out all the details to make it happen within our available funding and in a quick timeframe. While I was initially concerned by the lack of other reviews available, I felt more comfortable as I talked with Vaughn and Trevor and they provided feedback on the design. When Trevor and his helper came to do the job a week later, I and our other HOA members who worked on the project were extremely impressed by their cooperative attitude, strong work ethic and design sense in arranging the plants that they had selected for our various planting beds. They also helped us save some of the plants they dug up for us to re-use in another area that had no landscaping, and trimmed them back so that their shallow roots would have a better chance of supporting them in their new location. If I had another landscaping project to do, I would definitely hire RScapes again, and I will recommend them without reservations to others in need of the such work.

No problem. I noticed a lot of the rocks that I had placed (gray slate) changed colors, after a few days. I politely asked if this was normal (I know nothing about landscaping), and Ellie became overly defensive, and borderline rude. I had a 2nd opinion and was told that other rocks were mixed in with the slate... Not what I paid for... Still, being the nice guy I am, I let it go and moved on with my life. After about 2 weeks, I had so many weeds taking over my rock bed. I investigated further and saw that, not only were the weeds and old rose vines not pulled from the root or killed, the landscape fabric wasn't laid under the entire rock bed, as promised! I got 2nd and 3rd opinions, from other landscapers, and was told that I got played for a fool! Yet and STILL, I never mentioned it to Stam's and wanted to give then yet another shot... I scheduled online AND spoke to Ellie and was stood up... I tried to reschedule, was made a promise, and was stood up again. I sent a final text that went ignored. I feel that I am a very understanding, polite, and generous person/customer. I did nothing to deserve the utter disrespect that I received from Stam's. I wonder what's the difference between me and the customers that received good service... Hmmmm... I wonder. I give two stars, and that's me being generous (as usual). I had no problem paying an invoice for services rendered, although this was the first time I had received the invoice. I asked the owner to refrain from communicating with me in that way, and he responded, blaming me for his internal business issues. I terminated the business relationship but in response, the owner contacted my husband "...Im done being talked to like an idiot by your partner. Just rediculous [sic]..." Years ago, I had agreed to meet the owner one afternoon to discuss a yard matter. At 11:11 am that day, the owner texted me that he was onsite. I was unavailable at that time, but I said I could meet in the afternoon as we agreed. The owner texted back, "This is the afternoon." I clarified that the time was before noon, not afternoon, and let him know I would find another provider for that service.

Blayz is expensive relative to other landscape companies (we've since hired a better firm for less), their work quality is mediocre at best, and the owner is very difficult to work with. These guys are the ONLY ones who actually took time to see how/why the drainage issue was happening and built a solution for our specific needs. 2. The price is reasonable, the work is spot on, and they are letting us finish our yard in phases, so we can manage the cost. 3. The day they started the two workers assigned our yard came to the door, introduced themselves, and were working hard all day and being very pleasant when we crossed paths. 4. When we changed our mind about a cosmetic feature, they cheerfully switched it out, even though it wasn't their fault. We're the 3rd couple in our set of friends that have used them. Some of the budgets were very large, ours was not, but we are all thrilled with our yards. Great job, Dean and Scott. I heard from Scott, who handles the landscape design. Over the course of a month, we met a couple times and he provided plans and estimates. I kept asking about setting up regular yard care, but never got a straight answer. After the front yard was finished (and it did look good), I was told I would hear from Dean, who handles that part of the business. Two weeks go by and I hear nothing. I left Dean a voice mail, no reply. I finally emailed Scott and was told they are only taking regular maintenance clients who require services over $400 a month. Now I am scrambling to find a different company. This my first house with a yard, so I don't really know what to do and was counting on professional care. So, between the leaves that I have no one to remove and the watering that I haven't figured out, the sod is mostly dead and the other plantings aren't looking so good.
