Super rude owner/manager. I stoped in looking for a last minute bottle of cabernet sauvignon. When I asked about Faust he yelled " Faust is garbage!". I do NOT recommend this company! I'm extremely disappointed. I ordered 3 bottle gift packs on November 23rd and never received it. 3 emails stating its coming before Christmas. 2 emails talking with thrm abou the fact it hasnt come yet. Yelp forced me to give at least one star but this business deserves zero stars. Horrible service and extremely rude owner. A family member went to this store looking for some Canadian Whiskey. They were told that "Canada Sucks and they refuse to stock Canadian products." Their prerogative , of course, but who would talk to a customer like that? After my family member chose another bottle from the meager selection, the owner continued the conversation at the counter- "What do you like about Canada?" the owner asked. My family member mentioned a few things and rounded the list out with "plus free health care." The owner then said, "So you're a socialist, get the f$*k out of my store!" Who on Earth says things like this to an anyone.. let alone a customer? How dare he treat members of our community in such a way. Turning business away? These owners are under the impression that they are a high-end store, yet a reputable, well-run establishment would never speak to a customer in such a manner- let alone jump to ludicrous assumptions about a customer's personal beliefs. In reality, the store has the unpleasant odor of their dog and they have no name-brand liquors. Just look at many of the other reviews saying similar things about how rude the owners are. We deserve better than this in our small town. I urge you to patronize any other liquor store aside from this one. read more

On Sunday June 22, 2025, after leaving work, I stopped at Vista Wine & Spirits located at 228 Oakridge Dr, South Salem, NY 10590 to make a purchase. I was wearing a standard N95 mask for personal health and safety reasons. Upon entering the store, the man who was standing outside speaking to someone in a pickup truck possibly a Ram or Ford--who identified himself as the owner--appeared to be under the influence of a substance. He asked if I was sick. I explained that I was not, and that I wear a mask in public for my wellbeing and safety. In response, he told me--passive-aggressively--to take the mask off. When I calmly said I would not remove my mask, he ordered me to "get the f*** out of his store" and questioned why I was wearing a mask in the first place. As I was exiting, the situation escalated rapidly. The man began a hostile verbal rant and called me out of my name using multiple racial slurs. He repeatedly used the N-word--including "punk ass n*****"--and called me a "b****." I informed him that his attempts to provoke me would not work and that I would not be baited into reacting with aggression. He then walked toward me and my car in a hostile, volatile manner while continuing to shout racial slurs and insults. Despite the clear provocation, I maintained my composure and left the premises. This was an appalling experience. No one--regardless of race--should be subjected to this kind of hate and aggression, especially not in a place of business. The behavior exhibited by this individual was racist, threatening, and completely unprofessional. It is my strong opinion that this establishment should not be supported by any members of the community, particularly minorities or those who value respectful, inclusive treatment. I felt it was important to document and report this experience to prevent others from being harmed or targeted similarly. read more

Be wary of unscrupulous pricing tactics used by this store. Ordered a tequila online on Sunday evening and online it showed it was going for $350. Then Monday, morning after numerous emails back and forth from I presume from the owner, I was told they couldn't ship. When I inquired about making the drive they hastily replied in an email "not sellling it for anyting under that price so don't drive here thinking you will buy it for $350." I was visiting from west coast and stopped in and was greeted by the cutest dog, Brownie......I'm a dog lover, so I was sold. Actually there was lots to choose from and the owner was kind and helpful. I left without the rosé I wanted but I got two great bottles of Merlot and super fun hugs from Brownie, who I saw was employee of the month....every month. This place is great. read more

Extremely pleasant place to shop for wines and liquor. The customer service is excellent. They also have great prices! :)

We left Colorado four years ago to return to CT, but missed some of the local whiskeys there--especially Gunfighter Rye and Bourbon. We walked into this store for the first time last week, went over to the whiskey section, and there they were! It was like running into a former lover! We bought some, and several other selections (after some tasting) and everything has been wonderful. If you have an unconventional palate and are willing to try new, interesting tastes at the suggestions of the connoisseur couple who own the store: this is your place! read more

Friendly, knowledgable staff willing to help you out with any request. My company Hosts Wine and Cheese Fridays, with a different theme each week. I'm in charge of all planning and purchases. Oftentimes, I come in with odd requests. For example, I'll ask for wines from northern Italy vs. southern Italy, or wines with spooky labels, or "horizontal" or "vertical" wines. They work so hard to meet my needs, even if it takes a little longer depending on my request. Highly recommend this place. read more

Poor selection and odd sizes of alcohol. Was advised that a particular vodka did not contain gluten (written on bottle.) Really? No vodka does...it is made out of potatoes! Do not like attitude of owner, who is pushy and annoying. read more

Nice owners with great advise. I am not a big drinker and they always have patience with me.

The store is small (although not tiny) and there are only ever 1 of 2 guys there. They are both knowledgeable, friendly and happy to help. They have a good selection of cheaper wines (more in the 10-15 range) and of course everything that is more expensive. I've never had a bad wine from them (although once I bought a wine where the cork had dissolved, and they immeaditely gave me a new one). A very very well run small business. read more
