I personally did not enjoy myself but I believe if I had a different provider or was in a different head space...I'm not sure! I will go to their other location in White Bear Lake as I am not so turned off that I won't try again, but I will not have it from Sarah (the owner). I received a 30 minute massage and 60 minute facial. I didn't appreciate her not telling me a single thing she was doing to my face beforehand, as most other places do. And this facial HURT. I was not aware of what I was getting or what was going on my skin. The massage was ok, but the spa music was playing on Sarah's phone and her phone kept buzzing, interrupting the music...not the most professional. I also did not appreciate her making comments about my body. I get it might be a cultural thing but saying I am "so skinny! You must be less than XXX pounds!" Is absolutely not ok and very triggering. So yes, I am open to trying their other location but I will not be going back to see Sarah. read more

Sarah was amazing with my wax. I used to always get waxed & hadn't for a while after having my son. Decided to get a wax before I have my daughter and was dreading the pain, time & all that goes into a full wax lol.. but she exceeded my expectations. She's is QUICK QUICK!! I'm not sure also if she uses a different wax than my previous lady did but it was just way more pleasant. Less painful than I was anticipating and she was also so sweet kind and accommodating as well since I'm a week away from giving birth so she gave me pillows and made sure I was comfortable. I don't want to leave a bad review, but I felt so uncomfortable throughout this experience. I wasn't greeted when I came in. The lady I had told me to go to the room and undress. Then, she got right to it without consulting with me. I had to tell her the pressure I wanted. I felt like she lifted the sheet a couple times to look and see if I was wearing underwear. She left the room a couple times. The other lady working there came in the room because my massage therapist thought I said that I have a baby when I said that I'm a baby when it comes to pressure, so the other lady came in the room to ask if I had a baby. The massage was okay. At the end, she just said, "Okay, you're done" and left the room. Not even whispering that either. Wasn't relaxing. I felt more uncomfortable than anything. read more

My daughter wanted a massage for her sweet 16 birthday. I usually go to Sunbear but they were booked out too far. I was able to get an appt at the day and time I wanted. If you've ever been to a place like Sunbear do not come here as you will be sorely disappointed. We walked in and weren't greeted or even introduced just taken to the room and told to undress all except underwear. There was a little towel to use to cover yourself up. I'm used to laying in a warmed soft bed with covers when I go to get a massage so I already knew this would be the best experience. The massage was ok. Very basic didn't seem like she was trained. Her phone kept going off during the massage which was very distracting and she even left the room a couple times and was talking to someone. The room wasn't kept warm so my feet were cold the entire time and when she rubbed the oils off with a hot towel and took the towel away I was very cold. She was kind and friendly. During the massage she asked if I was paying credit or cash... I don't want to think about paying before my massage is even over. Once it was over I proceed to checkout and am informed that there will be additional 5% (actually ended up being 7.375%-tax) for using card and informed me of the atm at the gas station. I'm not about to run across the street after a massage that was supposed to relax me to save a few bucks. So I said no I'll just pay it But I will pay the tip cash though if they could break a $100 bill. She said yes and as I was handing her the bill she asked $20 each? I said no $14 each $70 massage I pay 20% and didn't even feel like it was worth it but I believe in tipping no matter what. Then she brought me back 4 $20 bills and 2 $10's so I couldn't make the tip I wanted I just wanted to move on with my day so I gave them $30 to split. I will not come here again and am sorry my daughters first massage was here. I'll be taking her with me to Sunbear next time no matter how long the wait. read more

Located in the Rice Creek Shopping Center, Vita Day Spa is known to run specials that entice customers. The spa seems to be run by Sarah as she speaks the best English. When I arrived, I was treated as if I had been a repeat customer so to spare you all the drama, I will try to provide you with as much detail as you need if you are going in for a Korean Body Scrub. Once you walk past the desk, put all your personal belongings in the lockers. Including jewelry, purse, and shoes. The lockers contain slippers for you to wear. Each locker contains a wristband with your key that you will wear around your wrist or ankle. Afterward, you will go in a small space to strip off all your clothes and wrap in a towel. You can place your clothes and underwear on the hooks or on the bench. You won't need to worry, as space will not be occupied by anyone else while you are being serviced. The small space also includes an infrared sauna to prep you before getting the body scrub. Remove your shoes before entering the sauna. The sauna will be set at 95 degrees and you are expected to sit in there for at least 30 minutes. Fortunately, the personal sauna includes a small tv in which you can watch Netflix or listen to music to keep your mind occupied. On my visit, the sauna was not turned on initially. After about 5 minutes in the sauna, I informed Sarah that the sauna was not on and she informed me that it took a few minutes for it to turn on. I started off watching "The Cleveland Brown Show" but ended up taking a nap. 60 minutes later when they came to get me for my scrub, I informed them that the sauna never turned on. It was an "I told you so" for me. Since it happened to be my day off, I didn't trip, as I had time to spare. After it was fixed, I sat in the sauna for an additional 30 minutes until my skin was damp or primed for scrubbing. After the sauna, you will head across the hall into an intimate room with a flat tub. After removing the towel, lay face down in the tub. If you don't want to get your hair wet, bring a shower cap as you will not be offered one. She will then do her magic by wetting the skin, and scrubbing everything until dead skin is removed. After which, she will ask you to turn around and lie on your back. After scrubbing the front side, excluding your face and private regions, you will be washed in a soapy lather and rinsed off. The entire experience without any hiccups should be an hour. The prices for the services are reasonable, but if you have experienced a real Korean Bath House, jjimjilbang, you might be slightly disappointed. read more

I don't even know where to start this review. First of all i have never been to any asian message place or had korean body scrub. I heard about this place from someone. I brought my sister to celebrate recent accomplishments. I scheduled appointment on Tuesday 7/20 for Saturday 7/24 at 2p. The person who scheduled the appointment wrote down my first name and last name. We drove 1hr and 30 mins to come to the shoreview location. We came 5 mins late and the lady Jenny was surprised when she saw us. She proceeds to show us the schedule and we didn't see my name, then calls "the boss" . Boss says she doesn't have time available and for two. The place was empty and had random names on the schedule. After 30 mins of being in the lobby and boss not answered her phone she says we can have the service we scheduled for but it will 30 mins of message instead of 60. I told her we needed 60 mins of message and korean body scrub the way we had scheduled. Few mins later, without any word we were taken by Jenny another lady to get the sauna and told we are wasting time. 40 mins after our appointment time we get in the sauna. We were in the sauna less than 30 mins when they told us its 30 mins. The message was good. Jenny did a good job. I had the body scrub afterwards and that was good. It was a little uncomfortable being nude but she accomadated my request to cover myself with towel. Then when we had to pay for the service . We got over charged and told that we can only use cash. I had to go to the gas station across the street. According to their pamphlet our combined services should have been $200, instead we were told $270 with tip included. I agreed to the price. Pros: - able to make a last-min appointment (I call, confirm, then show up 10min later) - location, specifically close to me - free and convenient parking - friendly staff (though there is a language barrier) - the third time I went, the masseuse was very skilled and I really enjoyed the service Cons: - the first time I went, the masseuse had long nails that just scratched me the whole time - the second time I went, the masseuse sniffled and coughed on me repeatedly - they don't introduce themselves or wear name tags - I don't think they're technically certified (there was a sign that alluded to this) - sometimes their credit card machine is broken - they recently hiked up their prices. Last I went it was $50-60 for 30mins TL;DR: The overall massage service teeters between a 2 and 3 star rating, but this is a convenient spot for an impromptu kneading. read more

I used to go to VIta Day Spa before the pandemic and decided to go back right after the lockdown lifted. There were two ladies and a gentleman sitting in the lobby having drinks. The ladies work there, the gentleman I have seen in the lobby during my previous visits. On seeing that I was wearing a mask, the gentleman promptly put his mask on, the two ladies, on the other hand, pointed to my mask and said something in broken English and laughed. Then Sarah came out to come get me. She too put her mask on seeing that I was keeping mine on. The service was quick. So I went here to give myself a spa day on my way there as I was about to pull into the parking lot and park I get a call it was them telling me 10 min before my appointment could I come 30 minutes later because the person before me was late I was thinking to myself I should just cancel and go somewhere else because when that person walked in late I should've been called to see if I would be will to come later or the other person should've had to reschedule or something instead of pushing my time back 10 minutes before I should be there they don't greet you when you walk in then to top it off they push you to pay cash which is no problem but to use your credit card machine to tell me what to tip you is completely unprofessional I've been to other places got way better service but my tip started at 15 to pay 15% but the fact that I was called 10 min before my appointment to show up 30 min later and the fact I wasn't greeted I dropped it to ten and when I paid the lady asked me what I tip I said I tipped you 10 she shows me the card machine to show what a 15% tip and I told her no it's unprofessional to tell me what to tip you and also keep in mind I was called 10 minutes before my appt when I was already here to come 30 minutes later I wasn't accommodated for that not only that I didn't feel this was ok when I have to give 24 hour notice to cancel I wasn't greeted anything so that ten is what I feel the service was worth I will never go back here again I only came here because of the place I normally go to was booked then I've never had a massage where the next day my entire body is sore read more

My sister & I came from out of town for the spa package, infrared sauna, Korean body scrub, & deep tissue massage. The service was done very thoroughly & well. The therapists (ladies) were both very good. However, there was definitely some misinformation on their end. There was no waiver or medical condition, consent form for you to fill out. I felt like the body scrub went good. One thing to note, you're not submerged into a bath tub full of water. It's a large, blue foam bed they fit into the tub. Disclaimer: you may want to wear a bikini or your bra & underwear. They do not drape you with towels. Haha!! My back is a definitely sore from the deep tissue massage. The ladies get up on the bed and massage you with their entire body. It was a bit uncomfortable & unaware of them hopping on top of you. I had shoulder surgery last year, and she had tried to flex my left arm across my back. I had to explain it to her about my range of motion with my arm & that I had surgery. The massage was a little painful at times, but got our money's worth. During the massage, they cover you like most massage spas do. They could possibly drape you with another sheet, when they're working on the legs. As they bend and flex your legs, they can still see your hoo-ha!!! Lol!! Recently, while on a business trip, I had an evening to relax. I wanted to find a spa that offered a sauna, body scrub and massage. With a little research I found this gem - Vita Day Spa. First impressions are always important. Walking in I find a nicely decorated spa with two ladies meeting me at the door with their hands extended to introduce themselves. The shop was spotlessly clean, well designed and decorated. The ladies, Sarah and Lucy, were very helpful and welcoming. I enjoyed a long infrared sauna treatment followed by a Korean body scrub. The sauna did a great job of loosening the muscles and making them relax and ready for what was to follow. Next was the body scrub. If you have never had a Korean body scrub I highly recommend it. It does a great job exfoliating the skin, removing the layer of dead skin and leaving soft and healthy skin feeling wonderful. It was incredible. After a table shower it was time for the massage. I elected to have a two hour Korean massage. It was a firm pressure massage that did exactly what I hoped for. The massage was outstanding. When done I was ready for an early bedtime at my hotel. Relaxed with a great chill. I slept like a baby. So thank you to Sarah and Lucy. You both were wonderful. I will return when in MSP. read more

Decided to try this place for a Brazilian wax after seeing the good reviews but when I got in the waxing room it looked nasty and very unclean. There were so many odd metal vats of wax and tools on the floor and even some areas on the counters and tables where you could see sticky wax and hair residue. I was told to just lift my dress for my wax. My dress is nice and I'd prefer not to wrinkle it so I asked for a robe which was met with annoyance. Then I noticed the towel I was supposed to lie on was dirty, when I lifted it there was a vinyl table with grease marks. I mentioned the towel was dirty and Monica just suggested that I leave if I was uncomfortable. I told her that I was put off by how unclean everything was and thanked her for her time anyway and left. I could hear her and the receptionist laughing when I exited. I do not recommend. I feel bad posting a negative review but my time and money were wasted so I hope to save someone else the expense. I am in Minneapolis for work and booked a package to recharge after a stressful week. It was not a relaxing experience. -no lockers for valuables. I was given a towel to walk around in naked in coed areas. My technician walked in and out of the room freely, without always closing the door immediately. -The sauna is dry and not very warm, so it didn't do much to prep my skin for the scrub. I was expecting a steam room or to at least break a sweat. After 30 minutes, I still wasn't sweating. There is Netflix though, so the 30 minutes passes quickly. -the scrub table is incredibly uncomfortable. No bolsters for under your legs and I still don't know how the head/face area could be used comfortably. -I had to ask my technician to scrub certain areas (underarms, feet, etc)... she responded that it was her first time to give a scrub. No problem...except that I had to ask three times and was told "later" each time. -the warm milk they use smelled terrible. It wasn't strong, but still made me nauseous. -the steam tool was so close to my face that it burned...I asked for it to be moved but there was a language barrier. I know she felt it though because she was bent so far over my face that she had sweat dripping from her face onto mine. So gross. -products are not spa quality...Equate brand soap was used. My long hair was washed awkwardly but no conditioner was used...even when I asked for it and could see the Pantene bottle sitting there. She had no clue what I was saying. -the massage was a joke. She was clearly not a massage therapist and I actually had to ask her to use her hands (as opposed to her forearms). At one point she was STRADDLING MY BACK. As in, no feet on the floor. She was exposing body parts that didn't need to be out from the sheet, trying to massage my feet with the sheet still over them and slinging oil all over me. Still no bolsters for legs. Needless to say, it was not a relaxing or effective massage. My neck is actually in worse shape now than before. -when checking out, she asked for cash. I did not plan to pay with cash and didn't have that much on me. A fee was added for using a credit card...although this isn't uncommon, I feel it should have been communicated ahead of time. -when I filled in the tip amount (that was not generous but still sufficient, especially for the services received) she watched closely and sighed loudly in disappointment. I looked up at her and she said "oh?" as if she was unhappy with the TIP that I am not required to provide. Very unprofessional. I understand that there was a huge language barrier but even so, I shouldn't have to direct my technician to properly provide a service that I am paying for and that she is (allegedly) trained to give. The experience wasn't relaxing and I'm not leaving feeling rejuvenated. Don't waste your time or money. read more

this place is very unprofessional. i paid for a 90 minute massage right when i got there. for the first 30 minutes, it was okay. the masseuse (not licensed) asked me to turned around and right away asked how much i was willing to pay for a handjob. i told her no and she got upset. after about 15 minutes of asking, we finally settle for a small tip. after the hand, she just rubbed my calves until time was over.
