Okay. This was kind of a funny experience. I Googled a spa experience for a certain date (my…read morepartner's birthday) near me. This came up. They had a package with infrared sauna, Korean body scrub and massage. The sauna my partner was not ready for, nor the body scrub. He doesn't like extreme heat in saunas. They left us in there for close to an hour and came back and apologized in broken English, like they forgot we were there. Then they told us to get into these elevated bath tubs. That's the best way to describe them. They had foam mats on the bottom, and it looked like jet sprays on the side. Well, they told us to get in, face down, with our heads sticking out the fronts. Not super comfortable in any way, including getting in an awkward position in front of these ladies. So the water was between cold and very hot. It was Dove body wash, nothing special. They scrubbed us head to toe around five times. Asked why we were there, and I said it's his birthday. They asked his name and sang happy birthday. Very funny. Then came the massage. I had to use the restroom. This is where I was really disappointed. It was pretty dang dirty. Not just kinda. Like, dirt. Everywhere in the bathroom. So now I'm headed back for this massage, and I am worried about the cleanliness. The massage consisted of each small woman climbing onto our backs and using their elbows and knees. She put me into a bow position (those in yoga know what I mean.) Remember, we have no clothes on; it was very, very uncomfortable. She kept saying wow, you're flexible. They tried making conversation, but it was stilted English. I was trying to give back some conversation to be polite, and my lady literally just walked away from me while I was mid-sentence. Actually walked out of the room. I wanted to laugh with my partner, but he was putting himself into a self-induced meditative state to avoid the awkwardness of the whole thing. I definitely would not go back. I felt a lot of pain the next day. My lady was rubbing my feet, and hit a nerve of some type, and commented, hmmm. what is this? And I kept saying, yeah, that hurts. Until finally I had to yank my foot away and say, THAT HURTS. It's in a strip mall. You get what you pay for.

My friend booked for us to have a spa package (massage, Infrared sauna, and whole body scrub). Good thing we aren't modest, because the set up was the same as for a romantic couple's massage. I felt so exposed with my body essentially splayed out for exfoliating. They used axe body wash along with the exfoliating treatment, which was overwhelming in its artificial man-scent, and sort of a confusing choice for a spa. The staff did not help get a relaxing vibe. Two women got in a verbal fight about how much to charge us at checkout. They also generally rushed us from one space to the next without much gentleness. It was what it was, and sort of the kind of experience that's fun to recount at a dinner party, but I didn't feel pampered whatsoever.

So this is the 3rd time I tend to schedule an appointment with a specific person and at a certain time and every time I go I am paired with someone else. I would say it's fine but then I don't understand why on their website it would have me choose a specific person if they don't pay attention to that. Today I went in with a 9am appointment and once again didn't get the person I requested as they were working with someone else. I decided to continue with the person they placed. I picked a deep pink mauve color. When the person brings the color it's the one I selected on the chart yet when he puts the color on it's a yellow brown and I communicate is this the right color as it does not match the tag on the bottle either. The first coat looks yellow brown he insists it's the right color and I need to wait for more coats of color. I decided fine let me wait for the end result as he is done with all the coats. During the prep of my nails there are certain cuts he makes so I bleed obviously and still proceeds to use the nail paint brush even tho it just touched some blood which I thought wasn't sanitary for whoever will use that color next. As he applies the coats the color definite does not look like anything I picked. He takes some color off and reapplies the coats on several fingers and at this point my hands have been in and out of the machine like 8 times. Because of this I have some fingers that are not the same color. For example my ring finger looks darker brown and the rest yellow brown. Then by the end he tries fixing the end of where he applied nail polish and is way too harsh with the nail filer that he creates a cut. Over all my experience was not great and even tho I communicate the color wasn't it I just felt like there was no accommodation or realizing that yeah the bottle is labeled wrong.

I don't look as tired with them on. I was happy my girl, Gina was able to fit me in her schedule on a recent visit to Minnesota. She does a phenomenal job. I highly recommend Gina and this salon if you need lashes, hair care, pedicures or manicures. Gina's salon is clean and beautiful. They screen each guest prior to each service to prevent the spread of the virus and I'm happy to see the level of precautions being taken. So if you are looking for a fab salon, look no further!

However, another client and I waited outside the suite for both…read moreof our estheticians to arrive (both after our schedule times) which was only a couple of minutes but also pretty unprofessional. This then led to both of them needing to heat up their wax which took up more time too as the other esthetician requested some of my esthetician's wax while I awkwardly stood in the corner of the room waiting to undress. They both were very kind but it was really a let down because I was on a tight schedule today and the whole appointment took 30 minutes when it typically should take 10-15. ABOUT SERVICE: I have gotten a brazilian multiple times before at other places and have done so much research on how it is done, and the way it was being done to me was incredibly painful and caused irritation. Not only was the wax being applied while not melted enough, the esthetician was spreading the wax in all directions and lifting the stick which tugged and caused a lot of discomfort for me. She then applied a strip and pulled in all directions instead of against the grain. This caused wax to continue to stick onto my skin where she repeatedly tried to use the strip to stick and pull off wax (this caused major discomfort to me skin even after I left). After the waxing she used tweezers to get majority of the leftover hair (thankfully), but then proceeded to just put powder on my skin and said I was done. I got home with wax still sticky on my skin and discomfort when urinating and wiping even hours after the appointment. This would have been a completely different story if it was one or the other, but being late and doing an improper service really bummed me out and I hope my skin heals soon. I just really wanted good service and hope people see this and do some more research before committing!
